Love those Coon cats! Couldn't see the boss one, my computer wouldn't let me download it.
Coffee Break # 43 - Dog Days Coming to an End??
Welcome back to the Middle Ages...if you were not in charge, you were tortured.
Interesting
Weird.
What to do? what to do????
I am sure Victor will love this one but it makes me feel "OLD"

Beautiful, yet sad at the same time.
Actually, quite a few looked pretty darn good.
Happens to the best of us. The vain will try in vain to fight it, and look like a freak like Tom Jones and others.
Now HE'S a ghost! Be careful what you wish for . . .
Great place to stand....on the railroad tracks!
Yep - that's one for the Darwin Awards.
Yes, the Maldives are a great dive destination along with Seychelles, although they did have problems with pirates taking hostages from the Maldive resorts a few years ago.
My year old corian sink just cracked and I wasn't even pouring in boiling water. Sigh.
I would be so claustrophobic in there, there would be no honeymoon! Memory, that's terrible...go back to where you bought it & complain.
I got it through my contractor so I have to call DuPont as they have the warranty. How can someone sell a product that doesn't hold up to the purpose it is designed for? Oh yeah - the Yugo.
Now that I have the hole in the roof fixed and after I get a new roof put on I will get that sink cut out and put in a "regular" one. Note to self: Stop watching those HGTV shows - they only get you in trouble!
How true! LOL......I do have to replace my countertops one of these days....esp. since DS took a chunk out when he was removing the old dishwasher.....
Went to the police station today to be fingerprinted for substitute teaching....no ink! It's done digitally...some kind of scanner.....had to be fingerprinted 5 years ago when I subbed....messy ink then... The policeman was one of my former students....he probably thought I was nuts ooohing & ahhhing over the machine.
I get the Litchfield Hills Audubon newsletter....one woman writes a column about nature in her backyard....I believe she lives in New Milford....anyway, her neighbor informed her a cougar crossed the road into her property.....and a friend of hers saw a pair of cougars in their backyard.....I've got to remember to get some pepper spray......
Cougars?!?
Yikes !!!
Yes, they've been spotted in the northeast over the past ten years, despite the officials saying it's not true.
They say that about Elvis too.
I've seen a cougar chasing Elvis. Of course, that was after a few drinks.
saw one in my backyard 10 yrs ago - made it interesting when i went jogging in the woods - talk about eyes in the back of your head
Elvis??!!!
Things have DEFINATELY changed, critter-wise.
I've lived in the same location for 27 years, but here is the "critter list" of what we never saw until the past 7-8 years:
Flocks of wild turkeys
Red foxes
Small gray foxes
Deer (sometimes in groups of 5+)
We can hear coyotes in the woods at night, but they never appear on lawns.
I remember reading that there is actually very little "original old growth" forest in Massachusetts, because settlers cleared most of the land for farming and grazing.
Maybe the patches of designated conservation land (set aside in the last 40 years)allow wild animals to resettle, and then become aclimated to suburbia when they realize the leash laws have severely reduced any human threat.
They are in abundance here. (Elvis, cougars and coyotes). Quite a scare a couple of weeks ago for a some moms who took their kidlings to a city park and saw a big kittie. I thought it was quite interesting on the news that everyone still had their stuff. Obviously the thought was that cougars are not dangerous enough to drop your important stuff over. I thought the Fish and Wildlife guy was going to have a heart attack when the moms said 'We screamed to the kids: Cougar! Run!' Now there are signs that say 'If you see a Cougar, back away slowly'. I guess you still get to hang onto your important stuff though.
A whole lot of people would risk attack before they would drop their cell phones.
nice recap dnut:)
I saw a dead bobcat last weekend on the side of the NYS thruway, maybe not a cougar, but it was a first for me.
there is a youtube clip of a bobcat from the town next to me - also a lady who works with my wife lets the town throw the dead road kill in the back of their (very large) farm and they have a scout camera set up - seen bear, bobcat, coyote, fox, etc - no cougars though
That's sad debilu. Bobcats aren't that common here.
A friend of mine saw Bigfoot, right after he cheated on his girlfriend.
Sherrie, my late husband's BIL has a hunting partner by Sunapee.....he had a cougar in his field...they're near you, but usually shy. Deb, sad about the bobcat....I've only seen one, but have heard them several times....they wake the neighborhood!
I saw Demi Moore once.
