Elizabeth
Elizabeth I have been fighting worms on my Maya and on my Milk n Honey. I inspect them every morning and every evening. The tiny ones just make me so mad. Poor things. They have been chewing on Elizabeth too. It is a chore! I found a tiny snail on my Alex cross seedling that I grew from Gordon. ugh!
Gita... well.. you've got three names going for that one...
There is a Maya
There's A Peach Parfait... which is said to be Maya.. renamed to cause confusion..
and Cream Parfait .. that's a new one I guess... I haven't come up on that one ..till now..
So you can pick your name I guess.. but in doing so.. you're obliged to tell the long and partial story with it.. as that's it's name.. No ID with that story.. saying it is anything with out the disclaiming story... is a deceptive practice..
NOONE can ID a Brug either from a picture... or standing in front of it in full bloom.. it can only be identified by petigree... linage ... of which yours has ONLY cream parfait.. or by comparative scientific gene analysis... like it or not... that's the way of the world.. and convention.. You can make up anything... say it's anything you like.. but it's only just that..MAKEBELIEVE...
It sounds like you're a democrat
it often comes up... but in being told how it is ... most folks are able to understand..
that was veronicas point.. you still don't get it...
That's Axel Rose X... I Think Debra.. for the sake of correct record keeping...it's Mother has the Braod Mites bad... this year... @ 10 ft tall
Elizabeth... good going... that's where I find them when i can't see them... I always look for the tiny black dots of cat poo also... they are near by... this year I kept seeing the holes but couldn't find them till I found one on my fore arm... while watering.. then I really started the battle ..

I GET IT----I AM NOT STUPID!!! I UNDERSTAND.....
I know what you are trying to say here.....Honestly! BUT......What YOU don't get is that you cannot change the minds of--maybe--a thousand people that are growing Brugs from cuttings they got from who knows who--and what they are called or as to what they want to call their Brugs. It is a lost cause!
These people, most likely, dwell outside of the restrictive guidelines of the Brugmansia Forum, where people like you and Veronica rule.....
PLEASE! I am NOT minimizing your knowledge and expertise----all I am saying is that you cannot change what anyone else here on DG calls their Brugs. They call them whatever--whomever gave it to them--call them...
That's all! I am one of them.
Are you willing to peruse every Forum and see who has mentioned a Brug they have and what they call it??
Are you willing to "make battle" with each and every person that has done so?
THAT is what I resent you doing with me--just because I chose to post on the Brug Forum. And--I will keep all your advice in mind---We are legions! Where are you going to start?
And--I am NOT a Democrat--and I resent that insinuation. What does that have to do with Brugs?????
Politics is off topic on DG--Did you know that?
I also feel that you are "grasping at straws" to find some new fault.
My reference of "Cream Parfait" was an error. Peach Parfait was the name....I made a mistake.
It is NOT a new name in this scenario. I hope you "got that"....why use it to make YOUR point?
SOOOO trivial!
I am unwatching this Thread as of this Post.....
The Mid Atlantic is a much more friendly place to dwell...Come and visit us sometimes....but leave your
weapons at "home"......
Gita
Gita, in some of your earlier post you wrote peace, but you did not mean it. You alone can stop this but you choose to go against the grain. Yes, you can call your plants anything you choose but that does not make it right. This Brug forum is one of the most helpful of any I have ever been on. I have seen Veronica and Gordon write novellas is response to simple questions because they want to be as helpful as possible. Your trying to paint yourself as some kind of victim here and it's just not so.
What we are trying to avoid is you sending your NOID variegated Brug to someone, calling it a Maya and then the person finding out that it is not a Maya. They would be disappointed to say the least. They may even of passed it on as a Maya to someone else before they find out otherwise. If everyone did as you, there would be so many misnamed Brugs, that we may as well stop naming them. If that happened, would you be able to handle it, you seem to be so distraught over one misnamed Brug. What'sthe big deal, call it a NOID.
As I am writing this, there is 45 post and 360 views, people are watching.
Hi Elizabeth, I have buds on the Cherub from X ( I can't spell her name it is long here on DG) , CG finally has buds, so does Flamenco,, and I am so kacited! PnC has Y'd!
Gordon the packet you sent that seed said Axel Rose X LWD. Does that sound right? Did ya want a cutting? ;)
Proper Brug ID'ing seems very similar to registered dogs. there are many dogs that "look" like and may very well "be" a certain breed. But without the proper registration #'s of the parents and the pedigree, one cannot be sure. Thus a pup without registration papers cannot be shown in AKC, UKC etc shows.
I hope my comparison doesn't rub anyone wrong.
Being a Brug newbie, I am really trying to learn from you guys.
No buds yet on mine.
Sheri
Actually, that's a pretty good comparison. Hang in there with regards to buds. It appears to take forever, but the wait is all worth it and the fragrance at night is heavenly.
This is Bernstein. The calx is a bit beat up by spidermites. I have to pot him up to a larger pot. He's still in a gallon can.
Elizabeth, that is the sweetest pic of your GS.Aren't sleeping babies adorable?Love the heart of diamonds frame!
Elizabeth, does your Emerald Frost show the varigation in the leaves? I can't tell in the pic.Remember, I questioned it not showing the variegation, when I shared the cutting , as it was one that I received in a trade.
Your brugs look so happy! I should have pics to share soon, as I finally have buds! I'm so glad that I still have a couple months, before they have to come in.
Now, I'm going to go look up Angels Summerlove.
Veronica, love your Bernstein.I really like the yellow/gold brugs
Charleen, your Super Nova sure is a beauty!
Dee
Oh, Elizabeth, You should see my Maya!!!! I was so shocked yesterday. this happen nearly overnight. I found a green worm and Maybe I shouldn't have but I killed it!!! She is a skeleton, I powered it with sevin. So disgusting. I may never get a bloom now. My Equador pink has a bud forming, Painted Lady is ready to drop. Nothing yet.

Veronica your Berstein is Beautiful, I love the yellow & orange Brugs
Charlene, another pretty Brug, I am so glad you have Blooming Brugs, you've came a long way since last fall
Charlene
that's what some of mine looked like, then Gordon told me too look at the new growth, sure enough there was tiny little green cats, I now carry a glass of water out with me too throw them in, they can eat so much too be so little, for some reason they like some better than others, I have thought about spraying with ammonia, too see if that kills them, I feel so bad for you, I noticed that Maya grows so much slower than P&C, did I sent you cutting of P&C if not by the end of September I will send you clippings, mine has Buds on it so it won't be long before I can post a photo of it as well as a photo of maya
Elizabeth
Angels summerlove looks great nice and healthy! I like it when they are that dark green like Sam hes got nice leaves I have a couple seedlings from Volker that are that dark green so soft leaves. Everyones pic's look great I'm still waiting for it too cool down here well we recived 4-5 inches over the weekend. The only ones wanting to flower are Kathy Ann and pink velvet others have small buds but they too take forever
Danasplants
I have had a time with tiny green cats, lucky for me they haven't attacked Angels Summerlove & Angels Exotic, the Bloom on it has just started too open, the next couple days it should be open, I have a lot of Brugs with tiny Buds, I am glad you got some rain, I know you needed it, Emerald Frost has some color to it today, I will go out in a little while & take a photo of it, it's a pretty Pink, you'll love pink velvet when it Blooms, I noticed while I was checking for Cats, Flame has Buds, it will be nice when it Blooms, oh I just picked Brown Turkey figs, only 2 were ripe, but the tree has almost 40 of them just waiting
too get ripe, Yippee, I love fresh fruit
Elizabeth
Anyone hear that mamajack is having a Brug co-op?
Ken
I just went to co-ops, I don't see it, am I missing something? like I need another Brug, but you never know, might be something I just have too have, Thank you for the heads up, i will look for it
Elizabeth
Yes, they are JT's Brugs.
Elizabeth, I don't see any variegation on your Emerald Frost. It doesn't look like Gordon's. Are you sure that it is Emerald Frost?
Elizabeth, here's the link:

Veronica
I got it as a gift, I have seen, Gordon's that's why I posted the foilage as well as the Bloom, I need too compare the Bloom to Gordon's it may be totally something different, I couldn't see any difference in the leaves myself,it's suppose too be green on green varigation, you never know, did you see my Angels Exotic, last year the first Bloom was a triple
Elizabeth
Veronica
Thank you for the link, my Miss Emily Mckenzie, died, I'll check it out later, I do see a couple, that I would like too have
my Culebra, I think has bit the dust also
Elizabeth
I saw it. It's beautiful. It's great to see someone with blooming Brugs. I get one or two, but because of the heat, they don't last too long. I'm waiting for fall. August has been the hottest ever, since weather records were begun. It was 102ºF with a heat index of 107ºF today. Tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter. We haven't had rain in 2 weeks. It's sooooo dry. Not as bad as the last 2 summers, but still dry.
Veronica
I feel for you, that's Hot, we hit 99 degrees for a couple days with the heat index of 105, when we had heat like that every Bud dropped off my Rosalla, the buds are now holding
Debra
I like your photo, is your Maya, a slow grower, mine hasn't even made a Y yet, my P&C, I think grew a whole lot faster
P&C has Buds on it, when it Blooms I'll post a Pic of both Maya & P&C
Elizabeth
that last picture looks like the flower just "drops out" of the pod. I'm still waiting for buds. Fortunately no sign of insect damage.
Charlene. just Beautiful, look at you Girl, with all those Beautiful Blooms, Congratulations on your Beauty's
Elizabeth
Gorgeous Elizabeth. Love that.
Thanks Elizabeth, You encouraged and help me with the Brugs and I really do love you for that....
