Today's Weather in your Garden - 76

South Hamilton, MA

Come, come folks. It's only in the 60s. In April we say 'that's hot'. It does feel chilly because of the damp. A bit over an inch with start & stop showers, glad no downpours running off. More for tomorrow so maybe you will get some, Bill.

I'm LOVING this cooler weather!!!!!
Well we got almost 1/4" of rain at least it's something

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too! No complaints here.

;)

South Hamilton, MA

just about an inch of rain, more predicted for tomorrow. The breaks to let the ground absorb it are useful.

East Bridgewater, MA

In a perfect universe, this rain would judiciously be spread out over the past 3 weeks, every few days. Nature has her own agenda...

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I have an outdoor Temp of 55* Looking ahead the nights are generally getting cooler. Its the last week of Aug.
Looks like an early fall to me.

East Bridgewater, MA

Yep, feels like an early autumn.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Cloudy with drizzle this am. Total accumulation is two and a half inches of rain. So happy to see this. Hope everyone who needs the rain is getting some. Probably not much sun until tomorrow afternoon or thursday. Temp is 59 degrees with a light west wind. Four more slugs stayed too long at the party and have departed the garden forever. ^_^

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

63°, wind NE 17mph w/ gusts to 22mph, Rh 87%, light rain: (4.4" so far)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

63 and sunny here...showers tomorrow.

Thomaston, CT

It was sunny earlier, but the clouds have moved back in.....art class is supposed to be outside at a friend's home in Goshen, but inside if there's rain....I'll get home about 4:30, then back again to Goshen to babysit at 6:30....& I wonder why I'm always at the gas station!

South Hamilton, MA

The rain is helpful, but some beds in the garden have too sharp drainage so don't get as much benefit. 61°

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Clouds moved back in here too, chance of rain later...HA! I've heard that before.
high of only 69°

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No rain overnight or so far today, though it is in the forecast. 68 with 75% H.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

South Hamilton, MA

Watch out! The prediction is for 90° next week.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i know pat has rain - i'm have watched it all day a nice heavy mist for the most part - called my wife and nothing at home although the future cast shows rain for most of tonight - i hope.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Yep a steady drizzle/light rain all day so far. Have not been out to see if it has amounted to any more accumulation though. Noticed this am that a lot of things were bending down on the ground from the heavier rain yesterday. Will have to straighten them all up when the sun returns. Present temp 61 degrees. Supposed to start moving north tonight and tomorrow Bill.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i hope so!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

More rain .14" we needed it

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

finally raining

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

75 today. I'm loving the cooler stuff. Did some weeding, don't think I made much of a dent though.

Thomaston, CT

I did the same, Jumper...pulled out the dead squash, beans, & cukes....it's been raining lightly on & off since about 4.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Great day for weeding after the rain stopped

South Hamilton, MA

Still raining

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

still drizzling with light rain on and off - heavier at home than down here by pat - finally

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Morning drizzle has become steady rain again Bill. Glad you are getting some too. Checked the rain gauge early this am and we had just shy of four inches so far for the week. That is more rain than all of july and august. Also took advantage of the last dark wet morning to snag five more slugs. I am very happy about this rain but will also be glad to see the sun tomorrow, of course the weeds will be exploding too. Present temp is 62 degrees with a light wsw breeze. The gusty wind from the last couple days seems to have moved on.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

dreary
66° 91% humidity

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

They are saying back up to 90 on Monday...this is when everyone (it seems) starts to get sick.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i see the rain and i'm JEALOUS - doubt we got much more than an inch with this system. was hoping to fill up the pond a bit.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

66°, wind NE 14mph, Rh 86%, mist
light to steady rain throughout the day yesterday, turning heavier towards nightfall, total so far = 5.2"

Thomaston, CT

Rained earlier this morning, but has stopped now....enough! I want to see some sun.....son & family camping in RI for the next few days...last blast before school starts.

South Hamilton, MA

Steady hard rain at the moment. It has been fairly steady since yesterday evening. 63°

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Looks like the rain has stopped and moved up over Bill's house. The wind has picked up and the birds are out and singing very loud and happily. The squirrels are back at the feeder and chippies are beginning to scurry about again as well. The total for the rain event is at present four and three quarters inches. Also snagged a couple more more slugs dashing away before the sun returns. Got them with a fallen leaf not gloves so got slimed a bit, but used the salt rub to clean off any trace of evidence of the murder. Definitely looking forward to some sun now after these last four days of damp, grey and much needed rain. Temp is 66 degrees.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Got almost another 1/2 inch. Hoping it stops - have a Renegades game tonight.

66 with 90% H.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

yup wife says it rained pretty good all morning and it is still coming down

Thomaston, CT

Rain stopped here, sun was out for maybe an hour before it clouded up again....when the wind is from the east, we get these prolonged showery, gray days that I hate after awhile. The plants are happy, & ready for next week's heat wave.
