Getting soaked here as well....I can hear the plants slurping it up!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

still have the sprinklers going - rain has not hit here yet just a constant drizzle - planted all the new stuff yesterday and transplanted a couple bushes and some hollyhock that self seeded - hope the rain gets here soon.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Finally stopped. Too much at one time! Cannot be absorbed so it just runs off. Currently at 3.21 inches.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

very cool

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My brother has friends in Okinawa so he tells me " look up such and such " and it's usually something pretty amazing. He lived there off and on.... 13 years all together.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

4.33 inches so far! Crazy.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I've seen those waterspouts off Miami & Belize, they're very impressive, (& scary).

2.8" here but heavy rains just stated 20min ago so that will probably double or more by morning.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Victor , a cubit is 45.72centimeters, and gopher wood is most likely cypress. :-) Ric

It's pouring here in Norwalk CT. WooHoo!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Should we comment on 'that other site', Ric?!! Hee hee.

At 4.70 inches and counting.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

well we had a ton of rain ... lost power for a few hours with a transformer taken out by a tree limb.. but all good now

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow. Was worried about the tree I'm having taken down on Thu!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I heard it blow and yelled down to Randy to get the flash lights ready... knew it would be a while... it got nasty in the house... we took 4 puppies (3 are visiting with Michele)... and Jily & Lily for a walk... it was actually cooler outside.. it was drizzling and felt pretty good... it cooled off now so we just kept the windows open

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

still a drizzle here

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Well good for all of you..... I got diddly squat once again .01" for the day
Went about 45mins north of here for dinner with the in laws, it poured up there, puddles everywhere. Got back to our house the roads and our driveway and sidewalk totally dry.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's how this whole summer has gone for me - until today.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It just continues for me. Going on a month without any real rain

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

There's still hope, it's supposed to be rainy until Wed.

South Hamilton, MA

I can here a soft rain outside. It is predicted to be blowing in from the ocean, not the usual direction. Wonder if the people will come to reseal the basement tomrrow. We will know if the phone rings.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Rain off and on over night, some of it heavy for short bursts. A good steady moderate rain for most of the morning so far. Checked rain gauge and we have gotten just over an inch and a half so far. Temp is 59 degrees with a light wsw wind. Hope you get some rain down there Jen. Supposed to be another low coming up the coast so hopefully it will pass over you and drop some rain.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Still raining. Total for the storm so far is 5.71 inches! 0.8" just since midnight.

68 degrees. 95% H.

Thomaston, CT

Wow....impressive amount of rain in a short time! Still raining hard here.....guess we've had about 2". It was so miserable yesterday, son & family went to Mystic Aquarium.....as Garret pulled up to unload the troops, his cousin from the Bronx pulled in right behind him....he & family were staying in RI, & decided to hit the aquarium, too! Very small world....

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I went there when I was a kid....the monkey spit on me and I never went back! LOL

Thomaston, CT

They had monkeys at the aquarium?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Sorry! I was thinking Mystic Zoo...is it still there?

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

67°, wind NE 13mph, Rh 86%, misty, 3.8" total acc.

Feels like fall just started.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

This monsoon has brought my Aug total to 7 inches and total since May 7th (when I installed the weather station) to 14 inches!! Only wish it had been spaced out.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Wow Victor sounds like you got the mother lode out there. Still raining here with various intensity. Wind has picked up considerably. The "storm" must be starting to form out there off the coast. Temp is a raging 61 degrees. On the calendar Labor Day signifies the end off summer to most people but the change in the weather pattern is a little ahead of schedule like most everything has been this season. Looking forward to slightly cooler temps and drier air with those brilliant blue skies of fall. Not looking forward to what will follow however.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Finally raining here...YAY!!!!

Thomaston, CT

Great, Jen! Just misty here now, got the dogwalks in.....don't know if Mystic Zoo is still there, Pixie....I've only been to the aquarium....beluga whales were my favorites...always smiling....of course, they were probably looking at me as an edible.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the beluga whales were my fav at mystic!!!!

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I got a rain gauge a couple of weeks ago but keep forgetting to put it up till it rains. LOL Guess I better giterdonesoon. Ric

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Thomaston, CT

Nice night for hot tea, instead of iced. Official rainfall at our Dam---3.57".....misting right now.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)
