- just got back from the beach, wind took the edge off the heat, 1 short fluke and 3 stingrays about 4' long @ ~15 lbs, all thrown back, - enjoyed the 'fight' nevertheless. (lol)

'Only' hit 85 today! 84 now with a nice breeze. H is only 30%!

Everything was sun baked yesterday and today in the OBX, high was only 87*F @ 53%. The wind was scalding and out of the west, strong yesterday and more breezy today. It blew the thermal out to sea so the surf temps were 57-60*F, chilly. The pools however are like baths. Fishing has been poor, but a bad day of fishing beats a good day at work. I can't wait to come back for 2 weeks starting at Labor Day when the crowds are gone. Ric

Thinkingabout heat & wind, saw the Russian fires on the news & people in Moscow having to wear masks. Worse than an CA fire near LA.

Saw that. Terrible heat and drought there. They will not export any wheat for months. Someone always has it worse. I try to always remember that.

Aug in NE., I miss it. I was once asked why it was chilling in the am's and pm's in late aug. Told the people asking that it was almost Sept. They didn't believe me. They were from the mid-west where it stays warmer alot longer.

I was in a VIP box at NHIS - Nascar - and it was awful. I dont like racing but it was different as you couldnt hear or feel the excitement.

I had a VIP box at a mud-wresting event once. Was horrible.

Yuck!

- although I must admit I would be more inclined to say yes to watching that event as long as the players were interesting. (lol!)

In a vip box you might as well stay home. You can do just what you want and still see it all.

Just took this pic of the sun. You can easily see the two prominent sunspots. The sun has been waking up lately. (I am now blind in one eye. ^_^)
