I know and something else mine don't have any smell at all.....very strange, has anyone else experienced that? It is so hot.......how hot you ask, I put some cold water in the water garden afraid the fish are slow boiling!
How warm are you TX?
She's about to...52
100 yesterday and today!
Too bad I can't hear those cicadas anymore.. my ears ringing and buzzing took that away.
I can't believe you got rain, Joyce. Not fair!
Bonnies Birthday is coming up. it is August the 5th I think. I am going to find her address and get a card off to her. No, wait, I think I will call her and sing to her. Oh well... maybe both. Gee I sure miss being around other gardeners in person.. *hint Hint* ( Joyce) All my brugs are smelling okay when they bloom, I havn't had any yet without any smell.
I sat outside last nite and enjoyed them while I could.. here is Betty Marshal last nite. Those blooms are all brown and shriveled now.
Good Morning!!
I noticed too that the brugs don't smell much this year either. Thought it was just me. We had about 10 buds on Maya, but there are only 3 that made it. They are twanging and we might have then open in a day or two. The rest dropped off in the heat. I watered this morning for an hour, but my rain barrels are getting low. Even the established shrubs and azaleas are looking bad. The only thing I have that looks good are caladiums, and I figured you all would get bored with the same pictures. :))
Question for you all. We bought one of those K-cup coffee machines a month ago. Kind of a luxury, but boy is the coffee good. Anyway, it has been bothering me that I throw those little cups away en masse every week, so this morning I opened one and took the guts out of it. What you end up with is a nice little plastic cup a little smaller than a dixie cup size with a drainage hole already punched in the bottom. Any of you that start seeds I think they would work for that. If you want to try some, let me know and I'll start saving them. They all stack together and are light and take up no space. I'd love to find a use for them.
Oh well, off to the races. Have a cut pic of what's blooming in my house. :)) Heard a rustling in my office the other day and I knew the kitten had come in, but I couldn't find him. Finally he stuck his head up.
Awe, that is so cute!
Do you have a picture of the cups, to see what your talking about?
Hello all! Have had a very busy but satisfying week. Ray's Daughter and Son have been here and what a pleasure it has been. Son got here last Thursday and Daughter came in on Sat. Daughter left this morning going back to Toledo Ohio, and son will leave on Thurs. going back home to Cincinnati.
Have many pretty blooms, opened garage early this morning, and as soon as the doors opened, I smelled the sweetest fragrance...it was Isabella. she is a beauty again. Thank you Susan.
Hugs to all!
Beautiful Faye! So very pretty!
Oh my gosh, that is an awsome photo.
( the butterfly )
I love that baby, so tiny and cute. I bet momma was so happy and satisfied to hold her.
I like the way the kitty is peeking up there, too. Gosh! LOL ya'all just made my horrible 109 day tolerable after all.
Well that Kitty mentioned above must have gotten into some kind of trouble last night. We had a storm somewhere along the line and it rained like heck. This morning my first order of business was to go look for him. I called and called and sent the dog out after him and couldn't find him. I was panic stricken. So I got dressed in my heavy boots etc. and went out on a perimeter search. The dog was sniffing around the wood pile so I lifted the cover and there he was. Terrified. And something happened to one of his back feet. I don't know what but it is all swollen and we are just killing time waiting for the vet to see us. He is sleeping on his favorite chair in the living room right now, but he won't let me touch that foot. This should be interesting. Will give you an update later.
What is really weird is that I was having a dream last night about him walking along a power line and then falling off. He landed badly, but got up. Another one of those woo woo moments.
Never a dull moment here.
Poor thing. Hope it is just a splinter or maybe he stepped on a nail? Let us know.
awwww poor kitty.. hope it is nothing serious.
Well it has been an interesting morning. When we got to the vet they looked at the foot and said they needed to shave the fur so they could look at it a little better. Since he was supposed to go in Friday anyway for his neutering they decided to do it today so they could look at the foot while he was under. Turns out that he must have injured himself a couple of days ago because it was already abcessed. So the vet cleaned it all out and shot him up with antibiotics and he will be home this afternoon. It's just weird because he was fine last night, so I guess it just sort of snuck up on him. So now he gets to stay in for a few days until the swelling goes down and everything is healed. He'll love that. Me not so much. I'll be catproofing the house this PM. :0) I already had to hide all the dreamcatchers and the big vases of peacock feathers I had. He just loves feathers!
Neener, wonder if he got in a fight? Did he have any bite marks? At least he'll be OK and romping around before you know it. Ladybird is a smart cookie finding him for you!
Beautiful pics, Faye! I can already see morning glories climing on all your fences next year too :)
When I took off the trash, look what I found propped up beside a dumpster.....a wrought iron 'Welcome' sign with tin roosters.
My hero Fruity. Dumpster diving with the rest of us. :0)
Oh, that is so cute. If you join another swap, you can send that my way! LOL!

One of these days I'm gonna post on the T to T forum. Thanks to Faye, I now have 3 bike helmets and 2 bowling balls just waiting to be transformed into garden art. The inspiration is already in my mind's-eye...the hardest part is carving out chunks of alone time.
You'll all get a kick out of this. When we were traveling with hubby's job, one of our neighbors and a good friend had a bird's-eye view of the dumpsters and always asked people who pulled up if they were "dumping" or "diving."
There is a painted rock swap if anyone is interested.....
Love the welcome sign, so much fun to find things like that.
The city dumpster box use to be right out where everyone could see it and it would have some cool stuff in it.
Little break in the temps today, how are you doing Debra?
We had a 10 min shower so I still have to water.
LOL, LK ---wonder if ClanCampbell would be willing to include wall-hangings in her next windchime swap?
Don't see why not!
Who in their right mind would throw out a welcome sign or anything else like that? That is something worth skipping all the way home for. Love it, (& U 2)
Hope everyone is staying cool. We had 4 nice days, but it's hot again today. Have to do lot's of yard work starting tomorrow to catch up from having company for a week.
Hugs, FAYE
Still no rain here, it all passed us. Bleah, only 102 today. Love the find you found, fruity. Faye, love your blooms there. Today after work, I untangled about twenty japanese vines from the south barrell and moved them to the vacant bean patch. Here are the blooms that greeted me on the other side of the patio
Morning everyone!
Debra. love that dark pink morning glory, save me a few seeds please?
Little Lillie Marie needs prayers, she has somehow developed MRSA, and also has an infection in her intestines, She may need surgery, and family was told, she may not be strong enough to make it through!
She has NEC, necrotizing enterocolitis, an infection in her intestines that is causing severe problems. She may need surgery, which her chances with wouldn't be good. All your prayers are needed.
The hospital asked her if she wanted to call in the chaplain, and to call the family. It is not looking good right now, but we all know HE can do wonders!
Thanks everyone!

She is very pretty!
Prayers her way Linda Kay, my heart breaks for her parents, hopefully things will turn around.
Linda, I am so sorry for that little angel. You are so right, God can and does do miracles. This time Gods miracle may be to bring the tiny angle home to be with Him. If Lillie Marie cannot get completely well and would suffer her entire life, God knows this and may bless her by bringing her to her eternal home. My prayers are for the family. I pray that they will find comfort in knowing that if she doesn't make it, then she is in God's hands.
Faye, that is so well said, thanks for the prayers! We are praying that HE does what is good for Lillie!
I'm so sorry, too, LK. Just when we were all hoping that tiny girl was on the upswing.
I pray that they will find comfort in knowing that if she doesn't make it, then she is in God's hands.
Guys, there is a lily coop if anyone is interested.
Well my sweetie black lab has been at it again.......gotta love him. Got home and was right in the middle of unwrapping daylilies when the coyotes started up, and Sam took off across the property. Last time he did that the coyotes about ran him to death. It is very hot and humid here. So I yell and go after him, got him back and he was green not black, covered from head to toe with stick tights at least that is what we call them, but a million of these little sticky things in his ears, on his nose, to the tip of his tail, and everywhere under neath! Ughhhh! I have never seen a dog so covered in those things. Wished I would of thought to take a pic.
fotv, how is your new baby doing? Did you pick a name?
Linda, I echo what Faye said.. prayers for you always ..
Joyce, u need to get some creme rinse on your doggie LOL
still no rain here. I watered for at least three hours front and back.
Faye your Maya is beautiful.
I am driving to see Bonnie as a surprise tommorrow after work. I didn't call her because I would have told her I was coming. I will sing for all of us happy birthday.
Linda, I will send you those seeds, I have your four o clock tubers wrapped up and when it quits being over a hundred here everyday I will pack a nice package up. Faye, I might have to send you some whole plants of the ones you sent me, since some of them aren't growing right now cuz of our weather. Cherub, Heloise, Flamenco, and Maya are all Ying. I saw a bud on Cassies curls. Her first set fell off cuz of the heat. I hope these stick.
Drive careful please, and give her big hugs too!
Update on Lilli Marie.
LK just called me saying the situation with Lilli Marie is getting serious.
The doctors have to sedate her as she's not processing her food and it looks like surgery is imminent. Chances of surviving the surgery is all up to our Lord now.
Please continue to pray for this little angel. All according to His will, of course.
And Faye is right.. He has Lilli Marie in His hands.
