Unknown #2... but I think it might be a catbird.
Daily Pix #337
unknown #1 an eastern kingbird? I noted the long tail.
Nice shots everyone!
VA, Love those Green Herons! Yes #2 is a Catbird.
great shots as usual,thank you
VWR, your Unk #1 looks a like bit a phoebe to me. Hard to tell for sure.

Wild Rose, awww! I love that Green and Yellow Legs encounter! Congrats on the two new birds. Oh how nice to see the Ospreys and their youngs.
Adel, poor that little Steller's Jay under the terribly hot weather.
borderandjack, welcome, how fun it's to see the Ibis in number.
Hack I love your series too.
Burd, enjoyed all your pics. but especially like the Northern Flicker Papa with his junior outing.
Duc, how neat to see the Pelican. I think I want to move to California.
Here I have Lady Byron (redheaded woodpecker) on top of the tree.
I like the herons too VA..we do get various species here, but see them rarely.
Lily, which river or lake is that in the background?
Rian, it's on Logan Martin lake, a branch off of Coosa River. If you google earth, you'll find me in no time. ^_^
I'm running off to an erand, will return this evening for more pics. Have a great day Rian, and to all my friends here too.
Whitebreasted Nuthatch, these are fun to watch them 'climbing' tree upside down, most time.
Thanks Lily-love... Looks nice and woody as well as "rural"...all things I love...away from the hussle&bussle of the city. It is nice to get some perspective on you guys and with 3d google pics it is even better.
Nanny, what a sweet looking jay. I do hope he was just resting.
Adele, great photo of the Stellar's. They only stay in our area for a few days, but I just love them.
Wild rose, beautiful photos of the herons. Looks like the juvenile was in training. Sorry, can't help on the first unknown.
Lily, does Lord Byron ever do anything but sit on that tree? It looks like he's really doing a good job of protecting it. Would that be his ladyfriend on the feeder? Cute Nuthatch too!
Last night I was filling the seed feeder outside our fence and within 2 minutes of walking through the gate, this Mourning Dove was the first to see if I'd thrown seed on the ground.
Hi Duc, yes Lord Byron does more than sitting guard the tree. He works on his home 'renovation' and remodeling all the time. They're quite chatty birds especially when their youngs were about to fledge their sweet home. I'm so happy given the opportunity to watch them interact with one another.
I love those doves, they're so sweet birds. I wished we have quails here, but I haven't seen any. Your Thrasher's bill is curlved! Do they take nectar from flowers and such? Our Eastern thrasher bills aren't quite curvy. All I ever seen Brown Thrashers are fond of bugs and insects. And the cute bunny. I bet it won't be as easy to squeeze through the gate after a good meal. lol.
Great Blue Heron stops by for a visit;
Pelle and Dave... thanks on the IDs.
Lily... Always love seeing your red-heads, and I love the antics of the nuthatches too.
Duc... that thrasher and quail are awesome!
Met.. great pics of the wood thrush! That first one is excellent!
Nice shots everyone!! VA_Wild_Rose, agree with Dave on your unk#1 shot...Eastern Phoebe.
Eastern Kingbird has a white edge along the tip of the tail...like it was dipped in white paint...juvenile's also have the white tip on the edge of the tail.
Love the Nuthatch Lily!
Met, Great shots of the Wood Thrush!
Duc, Beautiful shots; love the Quail!
Met...spectacular shots of the Wood Thrush!! I have yet to see one this year.
I really enjoy everyones photos! Just can't keep up!
But I really must admit I have not been out and about looking for birds this summer. I am looking forward to fall migration and being able to really get out more.
In the mean time, there are always the yard visitors...like the Crows!
It appeared to me that there were a pair of adults ...
Two female or juvenile Purple Martins.
...the pair were there to watch over these youngins;
These are Barn Swallows, mix of adults and juveniles.
Resin
Ooops, wrong on both counts on my part. Thank you, Resin for caring enough to help correct me. It's much appreciated. I will go back and study these different birds in our area.
