Garden Photos: Part 25
Pat, that Black Cherry is stunning!! Lilies are pretty too! I like that term, "morning walk about"....sounds royal! LOL
Karen, your DLs are gorgeous now.....people will have a nice jolt of eye candy at your RU this weekend! Enjoy!
As to your brug, I don't think it will bloom until it "T"s. The branches form a T and the blooms hang from the side arms. Right now is the time that they have their biggest bloom. My neighbor in Fla. called yesterday to tell me that mine are filled with pretty blooms down there. I wish I could see them! What amazes me is that they went a solid 6 weeks down there without any water....no rain and my sprinklers don't reach them. I thought for sure I would have lost them.
That is amazing on your brugs going without water for so long and looking so good, but I'd heard that they thrive on neglect. I'm not that experienced with them, so I wouldn't know. I do know that my established clumps of DL's have gone without water for a long time this summer and in previous years and they still look great. They store a lot of water in those fat 'roots' of theirs. I say 'roots' in quotation marks, cause the fat part is not the root, but a water/nutrient storage device. I don't know what they're called, to be perfectly honest with you. You'd think I'd know everything about them, but there are a few things I don't know.
Here's a link to my DL pics from yesterday in the DL forums. Just scroll down to about the 19th post and go from there. I was up late posting and doing other things last night.

Nice lilys, Cousin Nut and Marilyn!
Marilyn, not it's not Blue Paradise. Can't think of the name. Will have to check and see if I have a tag with it.
