And tomorrow is supposed to be worse!!!
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 74
Light rain & 72...of course, I left the clothes on the line last night :(.......it's scary with so many tornadoes is absolutely correct......after being in that one in FL 3 years ago, I'm just in a panic when I see an angry sky.
They have now confirmed 5 tornados in New England from the storms. Very scary stuff.
Just about totally overcast but no rain here yet. Hope it arrives soon. Temp is 77 degrees and light southerly wind.
Good morning, everyone.
Tornadoes are scary anywhere, but especially in an area that usually does not see many of them like New England.
Current Conditions for Western New York:
Rain
Current Temperature: 77°F
Feels Like: 79°F
Wind: 17mph
Humidity: 89%
We have needed rain and now here it is, Started overnight and continues off and on. The flowers are sure happy.
Have a blessed and fantastic Friday, folks. :)
Yeah! Finally some rain. Started as drizzle/light rain but right now is a little more moderate rainfall. Hope it hangs around all afternoon and evening. Temp down to 68 degrees.
Very few springles. Not really in shape to work outside but moved part of one iris so hope for rain. The other part of the clump wtill has pods on it.
79°, mist
Light to moderate rain here throughout the day, perfect timing considering tomorrow the heat gets turned up again.
nice steady rain here right now hope it continues!!
94° heat index is 102°
It's raining....It's raining....It's raining....It's raining....It's raining.... I'm sooooo happppyy. It hasn't rained at my house for over a month. The rain always breaks up here below the ridge. It could be raining in Niagara Falls, and the suns shinning 10 miles north in Lewiston. 83 degrees F. 79% H.
I saw a tornado warning flash across the tv... looks like PA and NY counties
raining here since late afternoon. A very gentle type which means it should soak in. DH has 7 pots of seedlings sitting under the tulip tree. Mine are in the ground & we were able to move an iris plant to a less crowded spot. Or at least a part of the plant--pods still maturing on the other side.
Today's paper said the tornado that passed through our town had wind speeds of 100mph....no wonder my flowers are flattened!
Ouch!
tornado warnings last night. Everything fine here. 93 today with heat index of 106. Yuck!
I had to go to Camp Hill today, thermo in truck read 104*F. Walking out to the parking lot nearly took your breath away. It never got below 100 till I came over Reeser's Summit on the way home. I really feel for anyone in the city without AC. Ric
Geez...what the heck is going on around here?
Took an hour ride out to the festival of ballooning picked a park a little distance from the airport with a nice open view to see the balloons, they are supposed to ascend at 6:30am and 6:30pm we see nothing...waited till 7:30...Nothing....hmmmm we didn't go into the airport because I didn't want to pay. I wonder if the tornado watch had something to do with them not sending any up???
Makes sense, they would have no way of escaping the suction of a tornado, even if it never touched the ground the swirling winds would still pull the balloon towards the area of lowest pressure.
82°, wind W 7mph, Rh 78%, mostly sunny
- Severe weather alert here today due to predicted high temps.
We had a very severe T-storm last night.....it was right over the house.....even with meds, the dogs were under the bed, whimpering....I felt like joining them! More predicted for today.....it's been a wild week!
Early fog has turned into just low overcast. Air is very heavy and icky again. Only around three-fourths of an inch of rain. Thought it would be a bit more considering how long it rained but some is better than none. A little every couple of days will add up to a decent amount I guess. Temp is 73 with an easterly light wind. Chance of showers later this afternoon.
misty temp 72°
I don't know how hot it is but just hanging out the clothes on the line I am now dripping with sweat!
disgusting out already .. I had to pack it in and come inside... couldn't wait to get in the shower.... well the storms missed me last night... Michele had some sideways rain ... Randy doesn't work far from her house and he said the thunder & lightning were out of hand... besides the wind and rain... no tornado showed up thank god
I agree, too oppressive out there. Went out thinking I could get some deadheading done, took a quick walk through and came back inside to the ac. Temp is 90, humidity is like jello-air.
H+H
It is fairly cool inside but difficult to work in the sun. Weeds don't stick to shade :(.
Jello air is exactly how I would describe it! Hard to breathe. Ran some errands a while ago....some businesses closed because more trees came down over the wires last night....don't know if it was another tornado or not....there were also fresh trees down on the other side of my hill....enough already!
spent all day looking at cars in this humidity - painful they try to wear you down.
It was so humid that a few breif showers showed up. Everytime you move you start dripping sweat. I hope this ends soon.
J-2 I was watching the weather boxes of severe weather pass over your area last night. Glad that no severe storms hit.
ROBINDOG....
Jello air, perfect description !!!
it was a bad day to day hot and thick air had to hit the inhailer too many tines today ended up having a breathing treatment and oxagen it was so bad today . the hotest it has been here in a long time .
Sarge
Sorry, Sarge, to hear that! I stayed in the AC most of the day...hate to do that, but the air was much too heavy.
Sorry Sarge--I no longer have an inhaler--when they stopped working, was switched to advair. It is frightening when you can't breathe.
That's tough when it's that hot and you already have problems breathing.
Too hot and humid for me....we rent space in a church and the air was not running properly tonight it was 85 inside, its' like they locked out the thermostats on us or something...talk about cruel and unusual punishment...I was dying. Hubby will go earlier next week and bypass the t-stats.
It's 85° right now!!! 77% humidity
The high today was 96°
Hi, Sarge,
This is the time of year to take it slow and easy...you can always get more lively after Labor Day!
I had a lung infection years ago (a one-time allergic reaction to a cleaning product), and I will always remember what a horrible feeling it was not to be able to breathe ...I wish you well with your situation !!!
Sorry you had such a rough time Sarge. When it's a 50mph blizzard at -10° or a scorching heat wave at 100° I follow the health advisories and stay indoors, with the heat or A/C on. Extremes are just plain 'bad news'! - hope you're feeling better today!
86°, wind NNW 14mph, Rh 52%, mostly sunny
- We had a small passing thunderstorm this very early am, with another possible in the late afternoon. Hot & humid conditions expected again today - just down a notch from yesterday.
I agree it is too hot and humid to be trying anything out there. Some additional rain yesterday evening that adds about another half inch to my rain total for the week. Hot and humid again but some relief on the way for tomorrow they say. Temp now is 86 with a SE wind. Chance of showers or t-storms this afternoon and evening when the "cold" front comes through bringing some nice dry air to the region.
