Thank you prita, I love your plumies. I have about 5 that I grew from seed, this is their 3rd year I think, so I am hoping they might bloom. It will be a mystery as to what they will look like.

and the crazy lab in the pool

I have about 700 more photos, wanna see them? LOL!!!

I wanna join the "crazy lab" in the pool !!
Heat index here today is supposed to be 105º ....yikes !

I'll be running around hosing plants, dogs, horses, people and the cat if I can catch him !

Blackshear, GA

LOL!!! Good luck with the cat.

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

prita, actually to the right there is a long window which you can't see in the picture and there are another 5 orchids there. We had to bring them in for the winter, which I really don't like to do but it was just too cold, and at the time I didn't have a greenhouse, and I'll probably have to bring them in the house again this winter, even tho I have a greenhouse now, there won't be room ! I have to look at the tags to remember them all but I do have pics of them.
Here's one I took when I was "playing' with the camera one day.

GA, Your place is mind-boggling. Just lovely.

Hap

Blackshear, GA

Thank you Happ, if I just had time to organize instead of water all day. LOL

Dartmouth, NS(Zone 6a)

GAgirl, I want to see all your 700 photos!!! I agree with Prita, a few a day, and we can drool over your amazing collection till winter.

Prita, I start bringing plants in at the beginning of September, as soon as the nights start getting cool. They could probably stand to be out till October, but I find they adjust to their indoor environment faster if I don't let them cool down too much

Blackshear, GA

OK, you asked for it....LOL

Yikes is right.. and I thought I had it bad.. LOL
Love those native maypops....

Blackshear, GA

Yes, I do. But my husband has promised me a bigger GH when we move (should be in the next 6 m. or so) We are looking for land now. We found my ABSOLUTE dream home yesterday. It is just a little out of our budget!! My biggest fear is what to do with all of them this winter. If we find some land, then I could go ahead and get the GH and put it up before we build. Just have to cross that bridge when we get to it. I may have to have a giant 'yard' sale.

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

If you have a giant "yard' sale....you better post here ! haha...I'm sure you'd get a lot of buyers.

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

Forget is mjs.

They are her babies and she will drag them to the ends of the earth!!

Hap

Blackshear, GA

That's right Happy, you tell her!! LOL I have considered downsizing a tiny bit. I am considering getting rid of the ones I have multiples of or that I just don't love ( which is very few).

mjs, I will look at your want list and see if I have anything that might want to go to your house. LOL

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

It is just this past WINTER.....

What gone is gone. Growing more grass. Getting tired..

Hi All !

GAgirl1066, I hope that you are pleasantly surprised by your mystery plumerias.
I am happy to know that there are others out there with my plant addiction, you might have to hire a fleet of trucks for your plants. lol
I sure did enjoy seeing your beauties. My red firecracker plants died last winter but I have a yellow one that is beautiful. I just can't get a good picture of it.

Joeswife, you will have to protect your guava tree in the winter, mine is the strawberry guavas. They are soo delicisous, I am happy that no one else in my family like to eat them.
I have lots of oranges this summer, last year I had only six.

mjsponies, that is a very good orchid picture!!
I made more space in my GH last year by putting up shelves and poles for hanging baskets. Plants, like plumerias, bananas and a few alocasia, I store bare root in a corner. I would learn a new trick almost every year to gain more space, I have even convinced my dh that I got rid of a few plants. lol

batflower, that is valuable info, I would always have massive foliage loss on a few plants after being put in the GH.

I agree mjsponies. So glad to have you and all the other newer people sharing their pictures here as well. I sure enjoy viewing them all from each and everyone.

You are so Right MJ, this geoup is fantastic.
Hap, I am hoping this winter will be kind to all you tropcial lovers.
Rita as always your plants are fantastic.
GAgirl, I could be a plant addict, but I am 12 stepping myself this year, ( I will prolly fall of the wagon). It was nice to see grown plants that I have cuttings of going, that you posted. Nice!
Rachel, you always have such cool looking plants to show. What is that one in post 7976935?
I always plant crocosmia, but never get blooms. It is nice to see someone actually gets some. The heat here is so bad with no rain, everything is drooping, even in the shade. Poor Things!

tobee43, That is a beautiful room, along with the old baby grand. The screen behind your couch caught my eye as well. I am prohibited from bringing plants into the house, except for the occasional bouquet from the garden.
Please continue to share your progress in creating your tropical paradise!!

variegated Wentii

prita....LOL!! i didn't say i wasn't restricted...hehehehe....when my dh saw them in that room he had a few words for me...of course he lost!

thank you...we brought this house last year and gutted it....i left those blinds up for now and they aren't a priority!!

i grow Amaryllis in clear glass vases in my kitchen.....they get LARGE...i don't use any water just rocks and glass....so he's getting used it to a bit! LOL

joeswife, the crocs I've gotten never bloomed the first year I planted them, so don't give up on them.

Rachel, that croc is AWESOME

Thank you Vossner. I am going to have to have another variety or two of Crocosmia plants. I remember you showed one a while back. Which one do you have?

Debra, the little plant I posted a picture of is Cristia obcordata (butterfly plant). We have had lot's of heat with very little rain here as well. It seems like watering is a full time job around here.

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

dont know. I was hoping to get it IDed but no luck so far (or I haven't tried hard enough). I also have Lucifer and that one has been a poor performer. It is in full sun, but I think too dry a location.

Thumbnail by vossner

I wish I knew a name for your's but I do not. I really like it. Mine was tagged 'Lucifer' but I am not sure that is really correct.

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

the one you posted on 7/17? it is something other than lucifer. Lucifer is a rich, solid red. In fact that is the only one I can ID b/c of its solid color.

There used to be a DGer called MrCrocosmia that really knew his stuff. i miss him. He would have solved our myteries.
