What have you ordered or want to 2010 #9
Thanks.....my GD came over tonight & loved it....she's going to be my gardener.
Hello dear wha what exactly is your issue about the 'Monet". I can return it if it's a crappy one. Inquiring minds need to know all the details. Some inquiring minds need to know especially cuz they just put one in the garden!
it is not really "pink" like the pictures - to me it looks dirty - and it is very small - mine has not flowered yet although it finally is in a better spot and looks healthy - if looking dirty is healthy. on a garden tour a home has several places were three were planted at a time and they just do not do it for me
just mine opinion.
pretty name though.
Looks like everyone is getting the fall itch early this year. Nice DLs and plant pickups d-nut. I do love how plants just magically find their way home with you, right Bill and Robin. I have been moving a few things around, ripping out a few more and planting my finds from the other day as I go. The mostly cloudy day yesterday was helpful, but it was still hot and heavy work. More to do today if I can get out there.
I like mine. Very nice pink edges. Had a few small blooms this year.
I was sad to see Seneca Hills Perennials having a going out of business sale this year.... Last year I got some stuff from them and one of them is blooing now. I am impressed at the fact, that they weren't false advertising, which I feel happens a lot with mail order plants. It was labeled as a Near Red Form of Asclepias tuberosa. I took a picture for comparison, holding another orange Butterfly Weed, growing in my yard so you can tell I didn't photoshop it. :) It is pretty darn close to a red, although it is an orange red.
Very nice meredith. I agree a good source for unusual plants gone. I do believe they still have the nursery but no mail order sales.
Yes, that's what I understood....I also got some lovely plants from them, including my hardy agapanthus.
I live right near Seneca Perennials, and they are out of business, period, for now. Ellen does plan on doing some wholesale orders of natives in the future. Her husband has ALS, I think, and she must care for him. The nursery is not even open for locals.
It's too bad... I remember it saying something along the lines of onlly doing some sales by phone call / apointment.. right? It seemed she wasn't sure.
I wanted to say that in person the red looks much more like a true red than in that picture. I looked at it agin this morning and noticed how much different it looks in person.
That poor woman.....ALS is horrible!
Came across these in Colorblend and thought of you Jersey Girls ^_^

pretty one too!!
Pretty!
that is nice - wonder if patti has it - hope her day went well with the doc.
Oh that is a beauty. Might have to check those out more.
I received and planted my Alcovy DL order. The fans were all dbl fans as promised, I was a little disappointed that the one I wanted the most was two little tiny things. Hopefully they'll do well. It seems the one you want the most is always the smallest. Usually I request the one I want the most as extra for a bonus, but I didn't see that you could add suggestions. There was a gift plant included. A red (I can't remember the name right now) Here is my list of what I ordered. If you scroll down a little, I put pics and Registration Info. :)

think i will pick up another japanese granite lantern tomorrow - place down the street has a few and they just went to 50% off - not as nice as the other two i have - at this $$ might have to grab one of the small ones.
Nothing to sneeze at! 50% is great. Meredith, I love the photos of the DLs you chose....love Princess Shy Anne.....of course, I'm partial to Anne as it is a granddaughter's name.
Wha you have to tell me where! I've been dieing for one of those but they are always soo expensive. Please share I promise not to go until after you, so I won't buy the one you want! lol : )
Thanks Robin, I actually wanted Princess Cheyenne, but that one sounds the same even though the spelling is different. : ) I like the name Anne too. : )
That roundabout is pretty
meredith i promise to tell you after i get one:) which will be tomorrow. warning - still is expensive.
if you want one you sould stop here it is a mile away.
the lantern i wanted was gone - not meant to be - there is one left a rustic large one of pink granite
if you are interested meredith the place is on 119 by the Nashua river you can not miss it.
I think I saw the place when I went to pick up my kitten a couple weeks ago. It was the only garden center place I saw. Is that it? It's probably too expensive for me right now, where it is a large one. I wish they weren't so much money!
just ordered
Cornus sanguinea 'Arctic Sun'
Hydrangea arborescens 'Hayes Starburst'
Clethra barbinervis
from Avant Gardens who is having a sale.
Cool those are all new ones for me. i'll have to go check them out! : )
debilu has the artic sun and i've waiting to order it for a year finally saw something else to order with it to justify the freight - only 20% discount
Mine is actually arctic fire, red twig, sun is yellow twig?
It's so generous of you to get those as RU door prizes!!
There are door prizes?!?!?! And I thought it was all about the food! Drat I am missing out on food AND door prizes :(
Yes.....I got a lovely bird feeder at the last one....an orchid at another one......
there is not door at in my yard:)
artic fire - wonder if it is too late to change it - will have to check it they have it - should have waited till i got home to order - that is where my list is.
I'm heading for a nursery downstate.....my neighbor went there & got great looking per. for a dollar....nothing unusual, but healthy stock ....I can use some fillers.

no door - no door prize:)
ohhhhh ok
Got that email from Avant too. Very interesting stuff. You can test and let us know how they do.
they shipped today so with the heat it will be a test!
I've been trying to root the arctic fire, and from a bunch of stem cuttings, I've gotten one to take. I'm also trying to layer(?) one, we'll see in the spring.
