Garden Blooms - 23 1/2
Bill, for someone who knocks out a rock wall in a day, I think a pond will be cake for you. And it will no doubt be stunning as well!
A different angle.
OUSTANDING arrangements Tex. Luv the scarecrows. wha I wonder what your big snakes would think about a waterfall?
Lovely pictures all & interesting pond, Songs. I am full of envy for everyones lilies. A couple left here & I'm sure the beetles will do them in al well. Daylily time now. One dark red with gold eye (seedling) will be moved after bloom. Hybridized by bees.
Victor, Never been to Disney. I have heard I should go, just to see the gardens. Maybe someday I will. Floating beds are a tad too large for our modest stream. But sound cool.
Our poor son was denied that plus fast food and cartoons. He survived it, but did go there after he got out of college to a birthday party of a young family friend's teenage daughter. They were suppose to stay for a couple of days, but he lasted, but one. He, despite being a chef at a fine dining restaurant in NYC, is known to visit the golden arches on occasion. My DH has yet to eat at one. And of course he loves the Simpsons.
Tex68, Great shots and arrangements and I am so wanting to get creative with a cool scarecrow. Those are hysterical. Love them.
Wha, you no doubt will do a water feature at some point, but you do have a wonderful natural one as it
is now.
SOJ, you may have to take reservations. I do love the impatience trick that you post about a couple of years ago. Plus I take them inside to the greenhouse and plant them for some winter bloom. Then I take cuttings for the next year.
Here are some more snaps from this week. Patti
I only mentioned the floating beds to back up the idea that impatiens can grow in always-wet conditions.
Victor I thought you mentioned the floating beds cuz you prefer waterbeds. Patti do you have any ruffly mini DLs? I'm looking for a ruffly mini DL.
dahlianut, I don't think I have any mini DL with ruffles to my knowledge. I did buy some mini ones last year and am awaiting them to bloom, but I don't think any had ruffles or chicken fat.
Victor, I think those big ones sound cool. You got me thinking of IF we had a BIGGER pond SOMEDAY I would love to make little islands of floating flowers and hosta. But not probably going to happen on our property. Wha has a huge water area to play with and he could build big ones. Patti
ROFL Patti about 'chicken fat'. I've never heard that expression before. It DOES look like chicken fat ^_^ Pensacola what a beautiful vine. Just put seeds on my list for that.
LOL they look like pacman guys ^_^ Do they really float around?
They use something like this:

It's been about 10 yrs since I've been in Epcot. I missed the pink flamingos.
Cool! Koi proof.
That's what you think. I have them and the koi jumped up and ate anything near the edge.
Victor, Interesting. I had no idea that Koi ate flowers, but makes sense. I could never have fish with so many herons in the marsh just down the road. That was a cool water pond site. Patti
They ate any and every plant I had that they could reach. They even jumped up and knocked over large pots that were on the rocks around the pond. Incredible.
How did they taste? Patti
If ever you get tired of them, give them too me and I'll chopped them off and make fish emulsion and feed it to my roses. LOL!
They're long gone.
Very nice SOJ, Patti Jen and Tex. Drooling over the pond and the water lily.
Some stunning arrangements, Tex! Also loved your Lord of Rings DL, Patti's Asiatic "Patricia", & Pensy's Hyacinth Bean vine. SOJ, your frogs are so cheerful looking.
♫ doo doo, doo doo ♫ (theme from Jaws) Are you sure they were koi Victor?
I found a ruffly mini thanks to daylily_ohio (kiss, kiss) called 'Spacecoast Tiny Perfection'. http://www.kinnebrewdaylilygarden.com/spring1999/tiny.htm
More later on the this luvly DL and more on the shopping thread ^_^
Isnt summer just the best?

JoAnn, that clump of lilies is awesome! Dnut, the prices on those DLs were awesome, too! I like the Spacecoast DLs, but I don't see myself paying $200 for one....which something would eat, or the rain would rot, or the dale would dig up.
I too am stunned about how much some of the DLs cost RD :O
