Oh, how awful, Allison! That's a personal thing for sure. Lots of rage.
Thanks, Nutty and 'contracts' to you too! But, you should have paid attention to the uploading lesson! ^_^
ya think... sheesh.. Randy and I were trying to figure out the length of time to stab someone 80 times... I would imagine it would take quite a while
Not really. I'm sure it's the ex.
ROFLOL @ myself! Working my way through the last of seedlings and what have I grown? False Bishop's Weed is HORRIBLY invasive according to PF. I wonder who gave me this seed? I have also grown meadowsweet which needs damp conditions. What was I thinking? I have no damp conditions! I barely have moist conditions! Well side a bird bath it will go but I bet it's SO going to be on the 'Plants I Have Luved a Killed' list next year. On the upside I am quite thrilled that I grew dianthus amurensis 'Siberian Blues" which I TOTALLY forgot I did. well heading back out to plant. (I wonder if I'm getting punchy from repetative planting disorder)
it happens D-Nut
Sorry Victor about the 'contracts'. Sounds very mafioso :O And now for my winning pic ^_^ Remember this was a 'beginner's' class.
edit: O I forgot to say that the prize was a gift certificate. I see a Macro lens in my future ^_^ There is a macro class in August ^_^

Nice. I would have brightened it a bit, though. Have fun!
Very nice, Dahlia! I wish I could master the macro setting on my camera. It's always hit or miss!
Allison - what a dreadful thing to have happen so close to you!! Awful!
Congrats DNut
Holey moley Allison! I agree Victor that it was def personal (a lot of rage)
Very sad....if she knew he was dangerous, she should have bought a rottweiler or 2. There have been many cases of murder by domestic violence in CT lately...most having restraining orders...now the legislature wants the person who has an order against him/her to wear an electronic bracelet with a GPS...however, it wouldn't have helped that woman since he was still in the house. On a happier note, congrats Dnut....I liked that photo muchly.
the chatter in town said they were divorced but still living together... the neighbors told the wife to get a restraining order... she did not do so... and was a model teacher... the papers say otherwise though... quoted how HE was the mayor of the street.. and she was rarely seen
Roundup may be less effective but there is hope for such things as multiflora rose:
a native viral pathogen (rose-rosette disease), which is spread by a tiny native mite, and a seed-infesting wasp, the European rose chalcid. Rose-rosette disease, native to the western U.S., has been spreading easterwardly at a slow pace and is thought to hold the potential for eliminating multiflora rose in areas where it grows in dense patches. Unfortunately it also effects domestic roses.
and kudzu:
Myrothecium verrucaria effectively controlled kudzu in the absence of dew over a wide range of physical and environmental conditions . These results indicate that, when properly formulated, MV has potential as a valuable bioherbicide for controlling kudzu.
Monsanto created a kingdom and legal quagmire with their genetic manipulation of crops and dependence on their products, it may just be coming around to bite them in the Asters. Ric
Nice pic dnut, congrats!
My Suey, age 6, is still a chewer...she is part German shorthair, & they always have to have something in their mouths....I buy as many chew toys as I can, but she'd rather have one of my sneakers.
Good news - Iran is willing to help with the oil leak!! Maybe N. Korea and Cuba and pitch in too. ^_^ The Iranian clerics probably blame all the scantily clad women here for the accident.
(I love that term - scantily clad.)
Nice rack on the one on the right.
Brian's drooling...he said he has a cure for that Ronnie ^_^
mmmmm deer sausage mmmm
mmmmm scantily clad mmmm
snort
LOL!!!
Very pretty herd....I could never be a hunter....would def be a veggie if I had to get my own meat.
As long as they stay out of my tomatoes and blackberries I'll be OK with them!! My brother hunted for years and never got anything...I swear he missed on purpose!
LOL
Ronnie, We have a cure for all those deer, every Nov. quite a few are losi to acute lead poisoning. LOL Last year we
had some of our venison sausage smoked. Dbl.Yum! Ric
I'd rather not hear of "Bambicide," but since I had a cheeseburger a few hours ago, that would make me a hypocrite, yes? lol
This is great. Different time, different country. Seeing the celebrants made me think of all those who did not make it.

So much to be thankful for. I had 3 bil's and an uncle in that war. Was homeported in Pearl in 66.
Brought tears to my ears...(should have warned me!)
My dad and uncle were in WWII
My late father was in WWll (Europe).
There aren't enough ways to say "Thank You" to those of the current generation, and those before.
Tears for me too...thanks dad! (and all the rest)...
AMEN and AMEN
The other striking thing about that film for me was knowing, using 20-20 hindsight, that so many great things were ahead of us as a country at that point. Wish I felt the same way now.
This is tragic and sad, and will no doubt be repeated.

That is sad........and so is this, if not a bit ironic.... here we are talking about WWll and all.
