THAT is not true:)
Garden Projects 3
☺
ooohhhh now kids don't fight... we have plenty to go around
Yes, anyone is welcome to come here & take them all!
Robin will you be at Bill's RU? I can pick them up then.
Oh ya Ric, been there done that. Tons of good for nothing rocks here, free for the taking. ^_^
Marilyn, you're talking about my place! Oh, you guys are gonna all hate me now. I have virtually no rocks, and the soil is rich. I add compost, but really don't need to. I guess I'm lucky. But then sometimes I wish there were more rocks here. I have to buy most of mine.
Ric, I have a friend from Jersey who would beg to differ with you on how nice it is. She loves it and always speaks fondly of it. She loves the winter, too. She's not a gardener.
I wish I could get some rocks from you guys, but you all live too far, and I don't have a big truck.
Pat, your garden is looking great! Too bad about the woodchuck. My dogs keep them away.
Karen
Karen, where in NJ does she live???
LOL...yes, Jen, I'll be at Bill's, but have no truck to transport the rocks.....maybe just one!
Well if everyone brings me 1 I'd be off to a great start!
LOL
you can pick up more than 1 here Jen.. any of them that are not already in a wall.. or boarder... they are all yours
sounds good to me, thanks!
any rocks that come here are mine jen :)
you'll never miss them
LOL!!
Jen, my friend no longer lives in NJ, and hasn't for many years. She grew up there and moved away a long time ago with her parents to Florida, I think in her late to early teens. She lived in the Miami area and hated it. Then she went with her dad when he retired to Reno, NV, and I lived with them for a short time. Her dad died of a stroke less than a year after moving to Reno. She stayed there for maybe another year or so, then ended up back in Florida, as she had a sister living there. She got married, had kids, and lived in FL for many years. She's in Germany now for the second time, and she loves it there. Her husband is in the military. She speaks fondly of NJ, and maybe she'll get a chance to move back there one day.
Karen
Ohhhhh, ok now I know why she speaks fondly of NJ......... because she hasn't lived here in years.
Hee hee he!!!
LOL!
Soooo had a second landscaper come and give me a quote on our side yard. He came up with a good idea that I hadn't thought of before.
So 1st phase to create a path that will be sturdy enough for the tractor and a trailer(if need be) to get in our backyard, then using that dirt to fill other side and reseed until ready to continue with project low ball estimate $2500. Hubby thinks that is too much...UGH he's driving me nuts!!!!!
Guess I'll be leaving my weed filled side yard until I win the HGTV backyard makeover.
Oh, Jen...sorry! I just went through the pricing game replacing my kitchen floor & the appliances.....not fun.
That's too bad Jen. Anyway you could rent equipment to make the job easier and do it yourself this fall? Boys do love to play with toys I have noticed. Or price out the supplies, rental equipment etc. and see what the cost difference would be, maybe if it is not that much difference it would convince DH to save the hard work and trouble and pay for it to be done quickly by landscaper.

2500 sounds like a good deal jen.
I know, I thought 2500 was a good deal too
I don't know about the diy part....the "y" part with any landscaping project is usually me!
So once again a landscaper I had an appointment with didn't show...what's with these people????
Obviously another weinerbrain who you wouldn't want for your landscaping anyhoo.
thanks for the laugh DNut
it's terrible how they are... glad the guy who cuts my lawn just shows up when it needs it... he won't come if the grass is not growing like other places... and can't beat his price... $25.00 to cut and edge... but he makes his money by going to every house on the block
Great price. My guy comes every week, no matter what.
Def can't beat that price, do they do the fertilizer also???
One of the landscapers I had out wanted $365 for each season to do the fertilizers
That's easy enough to do yourself, assuming you want to kill the environment. ^_^
No just the weeds
So I hear some kind of chopping noise at around 1 this afternoon, I go outside and see hubby digging up the tree roots on the side of the house....what are you doing???? Getting the roots and I'm going to till this up...Guess he's cheaper than I thought....LOL
Instead of paying someone we'll be doing this project ourselves and he'll be buying me a tiller. This has to be done by next Sunday cause we're having my daughter's b-day party here.
he will do that.. and spring / fall clean ups... but everything is extra... for $70.00 every single leaf was taken away... and they were here for hours.. he usually brings one or two guys with him for the clean ups
Always happens, hubby starts a project and then ends up working late everyday. He also has a camping trip Fri-Sat and my daughter's party is Sunday and we now have a leak under the bathroom sink(the main one that everyone will be using) UGH!!!!
So I called in emergency landscaper....My pastor's bil has a landscaping biz(which I had totally forgot about) so his field supervisor came out to look this evening and will let me know tomorrow what the cost will be to make it presentable for Sunday.
Murphy's Law!!
Does the pastor have a plumber in the family??
That's hubby's job. I'm thinking we'll be just putting a bucket under if, he needs to get it done tomorrow...hmm think it's going to happen????
I think Karen (nutsfordaylily) didn't re-up - said she couldn't afford it. Anyone seen her around?
Jen, don't leave us hanging!
