Garden Projects 3
hahahaha
I,2,E,4,S,6,T,8,9, Bet he could. Patti
nice:)
I have a habit of using numbers for le7ters all the time. Except they can be an6 lette8s. Patti
Many of our beds are identified by what was or is there. That can be confusing to those that don't know the history. LOL Sorta' like the old country guy saying, "go down the road to where the mill stood and turn left", Yeah right. Ric
Looks like everyone's been as busy as I've been these days, with little time to post. Haven't been working on any real projects lately, but I've been weeding, weeding and more weeding. Did a little more work one day on my terracing project, but didn't get far on it. Too hot to do too much. Been also taking a ton of pics of my DL's and other stuff, though mostly DL's. This time of year I take over 200 pics a day most days, cause new blooms are open every day, so therefore more photo opportunities. Consequently it's really hard to find time to keep up with threads.
Patti, looks like you're getting lots done.
Cousin Nut, looking forward to pics.
Karen
Doc started me on Antivert yesterday to help with the balance problem, I'm still moving about like Lurch. The incongruity between visual perception and balance makes life interesting to say the least. I don't dig with a shovel as much as I dance with it, and Heaven forbid I pick up a hoe. LOL It's still safer to weed on my knees. The doc said give it another week. Can't get much built when you gotta' use one of the pieces to prop yourself up, maybe I should try a comedy video instead. Ric
Then send it to AFV and maybe win some money.
That's awful, Ric. Hope you feel better.
ric hope you are better soon - great outlook though - i want to see the video!!
If I felt like you Ric, I wouldn't get out of bed! Hope you are well soon.
Yeah, I can't believe you're trying to work instead of using that as an excuse...what a man!!!!
Sorry you're still tipsy Ric. Hopefully you will be better SOON. I am becoming convinced that the 'Don't Look There Bed' is almost unpicable due to being smushed up against the house with no room for a long view without getting goosed by the blue spruce or the mugo pine. I am going to try some on-my-bellybelly shots tonight from the side.
ooo Cousin Nut heading for the pic thread to see your DLs now.
Cousin Nut I was just at the pic thread and your beautious pics weren't there :( Floozying over to the DL Forum now to see if they're there ...
... nope not there but Cousin Rebloomnut is there. Do you know her/him Cousin Nut? Obviously from your DL nut branch of the fam. meanwhile.....
♫ O where o where can Cousin Nut's DLs be at
O where o where can they beeeeee....♫

Dahlia's singing woke me up; it was like an angel!
"Made me look, you dirty crook" or something like that. Nice work. Not so shabby. Patti
nice start!!
Thanks Patt but its still about Cousin Nuts 200 pics of DLs. Yooooooooooo Hooooooooooo Cousin Nut we need pics!
Sorry to disappoint you, Cousin Nut. I have not had time to post pics on the pic thread. I did post some on a thread in the Parking Lot forums, but after doing that I didn't have time to post again in the Northeast Forums pics thread. Just too much to do here, and I gotta sleep sometime. *Sigh!* I will post pics probably in August, or whenever things slow down a bit. If you want to take a look at what I posted, here's the link: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1111001/ BTW, your new bed is looking good! It will fill in nicely.
Ric, hope you're feeling much better soon. I don't think I could work in the garden while feeling dizzy.
Karen
BTW, I took another 191 pics today and watered and watered. Very dry here these days.
Karen

Karen
I wanted to call around to get some quotes to do the prep work on my rock garden, cause I do not want to work on it in this heat....I want to get it at least looking like something before my daughter's b-day party in August
so there is a nursery/landscape company about 6 houses down from me...they still haven't called me back...hmmmmmm in this economy, not hurting for work??? Well forget them I'll call someone else
Surprising isn't it, but the good ones are booked up early in the spring for the whole season.
I took out buckets of rocks from my side path garden yesterday as I finished up the reset of about half of it. Where do they come from? I am removing buckets of rocks all the time even if I have previously dug out the space. There is a layer of hard packed rocks about a foot down that is like cement to break up. I swear they are breeding out there. Not the best weather for moving things and planting but I couldn't stand looking at it any longer. Hope everything lives. Temps weren't as awful as last week and there were a lot more clouds so fingers crossed. Will get a pic later today after battery charges.
Patti, I think the darn things grow, LOL. My veggie garden has been a garden forever and I still get a five gallon bucket full every spring. Mayhaps the rock trolls winter sow them under the mulch after all our crops and done. Ric
Same here! Imagine living in an area where the soil is dark & rich, & there are no rocks? Maybe in heaven, but not in CT.
Isn't it awful. Most of them are useless too, just to make it more annoying. Can't hardly imagine digging a hole without at least one clang when shovel hints rock. No rocks and nice sandy loam, what a fantasy. Oh well we can dream right?
Looking good, Pat....violas would be pretty there.
i agree - it looks nice - need to move some things around here too
seems strange not to be posting any projects...................
We have only little rocks that are far and few between, but NJ is def NOT heaven
Thanks all, I hope everything comes through the winter okay. The chicken wire is protecting little coneflower plants from resident ground hog, some he nibbled down pretty good once already. Maybe some of those pretty daffs from the other thread would also go nicely here. Hmmmm.
Jen speak for yourself with the rocks... I went to plant one of the hydrangea cuttings I rooted in the yard... go to dig a hole ... stuck the shovel in and clunk... didn't even get 2 inches down... pulled out a boulder that was close to 2 foot... needless to say that plant has a great start with all the garden soil I had to put in the hole
Jen, I've heard Jersey called a lot of things and heaven ain't one of 'em!
Do ya' know why New Yorkers are so depressed?
Cause the light at the end of the tunnel is Jersey.
Patti, When we dig a hole we need a bucket and a wheelbarrow, the buckets for the soil and the wheelbarrow is for the rocks. LOL Ric
Allison save that rock for me!!!!
what? rock? jen? all rocks go to me that is the dg rules:)
but I need them more than you!!!
