I have a Nikon digital SLR but I rarely use it. I use my Samsung camera phone, always in my pocket and always handy.
Here's Calypso in it's early stage, a border dahlia.

Thanks so much Victor. I do set the camera to the flower icon when shooting flowers or insects, so at least I'm doing one thing right! lol Unfortunately I don't have a sports setting, or if I do it doesn't work very well. I read the manual over and over when I first bought it, trying to figure out how to use the action mode and it didn't seem to help. This camera was purchased in 2004 so I'm sure newer ones are much better for less money. Did you see the one in the link> Canon Powershot SX100 IS? Can I ask if you think that one would be an upgrade or downgrade from what I have?
Calypso is scrumptious!!! Planted a few from the"Tiny" collection last year, can't wait to see them bloom now!
Nice Ge!! I have rosepoint lace but it's not the 1st one trying to open, one of the Martagones is!!
I am not sure.It was listed as an Asiatic.
The roses are wonderful
That Canon looks very good to me, Meredith.
Wow - you're in full splendor, Tex! (And I'll take the slr off your hands! ^_^)
Thank you Victor! There's always something blooming in my gardens. I wish I could post more pics of my roses, but the problem is (well, not really a problem) my neighbor help herself with them, and a guy I know down the street always take his little kids to pick some flowers for 'Mommy'. One time a boy, probably about 10-12 yrs old on a bicycle, knocked on the door and asked me politely if he can have some roses, and he specifically asked for a couple that are not open yet. LOL! He really caught me by surprise. At least he got the decency to ask! Anyway, gave him a handful and left with a big grin in his face.
Back to photos - Leucanthemum Snowcap.
