Great shots, Kin. They look edible! Please share more of your great talent here.

My Hardy Fuchsias are growing quite quickly now and many of them should start blooming when we get a warm spell.
This is fuchsia Hawkshead

One more before I go.
Here are some Hosta leaves with fuchsia blooms that are rotten from all the rain! It did make an interesting photo though. I don't know which cultivar the hostas are because I got them at a yard sale and the owner didn't know which ones they were.

JoAnn your coleus really looks lovely next to the lily. They compliment each other so well.
GGK beautiful shots and welcome. As Victor says please post more any time
Here are a few from yesterday between the rain showers.
Echie 'Marmalade ' opened just a little more and getting more golden orange in color. These doubles take a long time to bloom fully but they also last a long time usually too.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Everyone's photos are so nice as always!
It has me thinking about how much I would love a nicer camera, so I can get better pictures to share. If any one has any opinions on good cameras I would love it if you check out the thread I started in the camera forum. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1106755/

I'll reply here, Meredith. Most point and shoots have a manual shutter shooting option. Aside from the special shooting modes like action, low light, landscape, etc., most have auto, manual (fully, where you adjust both the aperture and shutter speed), shutter priority (where you pick the shutter speed and the camera sets the aperture accordingly) and aperture priority (the opposite).

Delay between pics is a problem with most point and shoots, but this is getting much better and I am sure you can find one that is not too bad. If it has a larger buffer (internal memory which holds the data until it is transferred to the card), it will be faster.

That said, I would first suggest getting off auto. For flower shots, use the macro setting - usually a flower icon. For the kids, use a sports setting - usually a golfer icon. If no sports mode, then switch to shutter priority and start experimenting with various speeds until you freeze their motion. This will be a problem in low light. In that case, use the flash mode.
