Okay guys & gals; what's flippin' going on? Heavy 80's or maybe higher 10 days ago, snickering rain a couple of days in between that didn't amount to much. Then this past week of heavy downpour, super high winds, and an isolated, super extended storm cell that created an actual NY, VT, NH into Maine serious freakin' tornado touching down (damaging) in all 4 tops of these states. Along with high winds .... much damage there as well.

Then blessed soft rain in my smallest state cap. twn in VT. Dry as a cork leg like all over NE, and 2 days ago, serious talk from weather folks about a very serious frost for certain north-mid counties of Vermont where our home is and a bit north where my Tomatoes, cukes, peppers are planted. At home covered up tender annuals and a few favorite perennials about to bloom, which
turned out to be not needed as it was 39 at 7 a.m. Not sure about my tomatoes, peppers,
or cukes and tiny lettuce/chard/radish plants in raised beds at our camp. (I hate this that I can't be at both places at the same time!!!)

Global warming or what; this has been one hellish spring of March in the 60s, April in the 70s and May in the 80s (or severe combos of each in all those months) and June being a total "wing-nut" w/ 'meeze' thinking I'm getting more than a "tad" too elderly to deal with all this overwhelming
el-crappo!! Cheers for more normal weather!!

Bless us all who love our gardens and think of them as our pets ~

East Bridgewater, MA

You're right, crazy weather!

Wish I lived where it's year-round 76 degrees for day, 55 degrees at night.

There's a mountainside in Hawaii with that pattern.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Hope all your plants up north are okay Vt Roots. We got down to low 40s here but that is cold enough for June. The weather last spring and this year has been really strange and unpredictable at times for sure. Most plants are ahead of schedule this year, last they were a bit late. Maybe next year they will be back on time or maybe this is the new normal.
Overcast , 52 degrees and looks like the rain has stopped. Might not see much sun today even if there is no more rain. At least it was a normal just wet steady rain with no lightening and wind. Nice and the garden likes it. Will check later to see how much we got.

South Hamilton, MA

54° raining. We need the rain, severe storms hit south of us when we flew home from WI, a few minutes of driving rain so you couldn't see the road, then we were out of it & easy drive home. Nothing like tornados although straight line winds can be damaging. The garden can use this rain & replanted some species irises & added compost yesterday.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too, Boston!

61 and overcast. Ended with 0.65 inch of rain yesterday.

South Hamilton, MA

Still raining here--the area of rain seems to be patchy.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Went out to check rain gauge and looks like we got around a half an inch here. One nice side effect of clouds and wet is that I found and smushed a half dozen slugs. Brightens my day.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

63°, wind North (calm), cloudy

KENNESAW, GA(Zone 7b)

You have the weather we had for the last 3 days. Hopefully when I get home from work it will still be clear so I can catch up in the garden. I plan to put the leftover seedlings in those fiber potato pots from Gardner supplies and see how it goes. I also have an extra large raised bed my late husband built that I am going to put some things in a see how it goes. It used to get full sun in 1997 when Jim built it; not now. I already put some spinach and Broccoli in it and will put another sowing of lettuce. I am playing with corn in the sunny end of it. I am going to throw in some beans & squash and try the "three sisters" thing.

You guys east of WNY seem to get our weather a day later. All we had was rain since Saturday.
