Today's Weather in Your Garden - 71

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Nasty business out there in the midwest. I was also lucky here. The big nasty storms slid off just north of my location. Some gusty wind and a very short little shower and that is it. Not unhappy the strong storms did not pay a visit.
Cool picture Victor. Looks plenty hot there! But you know what they say....it's a dry heat. ^_^

In hell?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Beautiful change coming through! Windy, low humidity and sunny. Great days ahead! Just wish we got more more rain.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Still waiting to hear from either Lucy! Hope all is okay. What a terrible thing to happen on graduation day.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Down to 64! No need for a/c or fan tonight.

South Hamilton, MA

Home today from the iris convention. Delayed in Milwaukee because of Boston weather. J-2 told me over the phone that tornados hit near Toledo. She is further east, but sirens went off at 3 am. This information given to me over the phone.

Last thread to look at now as falling asleep.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It was CRAZY windy all day here. Had a few drops but that's it and we REALLY need the rain. The humidity level dropped as I was outside getting my cuttings from the RU all in pots(about 7PM or so).

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

We're ok. The worst was west of us, just south of Toledo. Woke up to tornado sirens @ 3am and went to the basement. DH was at work. He called and told us to close all the windows. We got .08" of rain at the house from the storm. Rain was worse @ Cedar Point(DH works there) It sticks out into the lake and the storms headed out that way.
It was in the upper 60's today and the humidity was cut way down. Graduation was fine. DH took lots of pics.

We drove home from Logan airport last night--nearby a downpour came, could hardly see. but it passed on out to sea & as we came north the rain stopped. A tricky couple minutes though. Measurement of water this morning in a bucket = almost 2".

Yes, so did we. Total for Sat/Sun - only a quarter inch.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Such nice cool dry air blowing about today. Sunny and very pleasant after all that hot humid stuff. Temp is 68 with a NW breeze. Could get down to high 40s tonight. Gotta love this wacky weather.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

70 and sunny. When I get caught up on these threads I hope to get some weeding done. DD's party is Sat, so I HAVE to get it done. Lots of advil is in my future!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Perfect day! Wish I had gotten put sooner. Got some weeding done. Planting tomorrow.

High was 74. Low humidity. Nice breeze and puffy clouds.

South Hamilton, MA

Put in about an hour removing moss from the siberian iris bed. It doesn't look like I did anything. High 60s, excellant gardening weather. Glad that we were away during the hot spell.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

A++ day, visited a new nursery that looked like I was going to love it when I drove passed...kinda disappointed not enough of a perennial selection, BUT they have the most awesome garden decor shop. The place was seperated by style, victorian in one section, country in another section, ultra modern....well you get the picture. The prices weren't that bad either.

Caught this while getting the lightning shots - lightning bug!

OMG....that's so cute! Jen, sounds like a nice store. I weeded, too, Jumper & Iris, & thinned the beets & carrots again. Frost warnings in upstate NY tonight!

Same here today....a great day to work in the garden, but do not have the time today!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great day for working outside. Got lots done and will get right back out after lunch.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Glorious day. I've been very busy. Have to go give blood this afternoon, but they may not want it. Have a sinus infection.

Supposed to rain tomorrow. I'll do the rain dance this afternoon. Maybe I can get Dnut to dance as well, or maybe JoAnn. I can use all your help. 5 6 7 8 .....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - noticed my new witch hazel losing leaves. Yikes! Needs a good soaking. The rain tower should be here by tomorrow.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

72 and breezy. Got some more weeding done. Will do more later.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Thunder and lightening, and raining now. I would love it if it rained all night. I just finished doing some transplanting and dividing more plants when it started. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Done for the day - dead!!! My knee is really killing me. Got mucho done. As usual, ended up doing more and different things than what I planned.

68 and sunny. 39% H.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Storm over, sun is back out. Not much rain. Dogs are happy it is over.

Victor, Sorry about your knee.

I did weed a bunch as planned, but in a different spots than I had planned. I got some dead heading done, but no work on the tomato trellis. I did plant some caladium bulbs that I forgot about. I also planted a tray of impatience. I decimated a huge bunch of the dreaded spider wort all in full bloom, so my back is sore from pulling them out. They will come back, but not for a while. Pretty, but a nightmare in our sandy soil. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Patti. It's the knife for sure this fall.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Ugh...

72°, wind NE 7.6mph, Rh 37%, mostly sunny
