looks nice joann
Thanks, Victor, I do too. It has stunning buds and then goes through a bunch of changes until it is a soft yellow. I planted it 2007 from Dan's Great Lake Coop. It is a Rugosa Hybrid that may get 6 feet tall. It doesn't like to be pruned. My kind of rose!
Hybrid Rugosa.
aka: KORruge
Registration: KORruge
AEN: Rugelda ®
Origin: Bred in Germany (1989) by W. Kordes & Sons.
Bloom: Yellow blend [yb], red edge blooms. Flowers citron yellow edged reddish upper. Moderate fragrance. Small, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit: Tall, bushy growth habit. Dark green foliage.
Height of up to 6' 7" (up to 200 cm). Width of up to 4' . (up to 120 cm).
Growing: Used for garden or landscape. Zone 5 and higher. Resist the urge to prune this rose too heavily -- it doesn't like it!.
Wha, daffs?? Delphs? Too funny, I think you are working too hard. Nice results for sure. I keep trying with roses, but rugosa roses are always good for me. I can live with black spot.
Ge1836, love the glass tile work, nothing bland about you, baby! Grab bars are just horizontal stripper poles for those beyond retirement age!
Lots of pretty blooms. Love the snowflake Victor.
Lots of color out your way Patti. Really nice groupings of pics. Like that rose with the pinked petals.
Bill your delphs are looking really nice. Moved all of mine this spring so any blooms will be small and late I think. Have a few buds though. Love those volunteers too.
JoAnn your garden and remodel are both looking good. Like the color schemes of both too.
I am having the head spins this am. I really hate that, but did do a walk about early this am. The mullein is starting to bloom already. Seems awfully early to me, asiatic lilies are starting to open and color up, penstemons are blooming or getting ready to and most everything has buds at one stage or another. A new echie 'Orange Marmalade' is coloring up and starting to open. It is a double flowering new one and it seems to be taking forever to bloom all the way. Maybe just an impatient gardener. Anyway here is how it looked this am. Still a way to go but the color is very nice so far.
Someone has reported me to the aged strippers club.Guess You caught my act?
That may be as far as it opens, Pat....some of the newer echies have very narrow petals. Snowflake is a beauty, Victor, & Patti, the climbing rose is very pretty....would love to paint it....we are working on roses in art class today....I'm bringing Burgundy Iceberg. Jo, love those glass mosaics in the bath...I'm still painting mine, about 1/2 through. here is the Iceberg....
Robin that is a very shade of pale yellow on that older rose bloom. I like it a lot.
The echie has just started to bloom. This is what it is supposed to look like when fully open. http://www.plantsnouveau.com/echinacea-marmalade/
LOL JoAnn. Looks like you have been found out. Who knew you had another hobby beside painting and gardens.
Love the tile colors and the design, JoAnn
thnx
Pretty tiles, JoAnn. They will reflect the light well during your 'act'.
Lots of beautiful fleurs everyone. A couple of my hosta are blooming.
I just caught the GoatFern label in one of my pictures.
Geezerness strikes again.
Wow, that's going to be a gorgeous echie, Pat! I'm glad you liked the pale yellow bloom....that's part of what I decided to paint in class today.
More luvly things to see. My fav from this group is ge's painting of Donnie B's house!
Beautiful flowers everyone. I've taken some pics, haven't downloaded them yet.
Lovely Tequila, Marilyn! I can see why you like it so much. Love Iceberg too!
JoAnn - your bath remodel is very nice! I like that tile in the shower! Pretty blooms too. I like Vulcan!
Bill - those delphs are really tall. Do they require staking in the storms? Mine are behind yours, but are getting ready to pop soon. I loved seeing your weigela......I wanted to let you know today that mine has blooms all over each stem! I was really holding my breath....the girls dug mine up and just tossed it aside without the least amount of feeling. They got in lots of trouble. Fortunately, I discovered it right away and replanted it carefully. I was afraid that the buds that were on it would fall off, but there are even more now. Maybe I should have the rascals dig up and toss some of my other plants that haven't done much yet! Do you frequent the Bedford Fields garden center? Hank and I had a wonderful day yesterday. We took the girls for a day trip....went to the Currier Museum in Manchester to see a great art exhibit that had some of my favorite American Impressionists' water colors (fantastic exhibit); then we had a very nice lunch at the Bedford Village Inn and then stopped in at the garden center. I got "Stoplight" heuchera and an astilbe. I thought I saw your footprints in the perennial section. LOL
Patti - are you feeling better today? Find your bracelet yet?
Here are some pretty pastels to start June off.
This is the astilbe I bought.....I really liked how healthy and dark green the foliage was.

I'll start a new thread.
LOve that white collage, very peaceful! :) It is funny how I used to not want any white flowers and now I want to add more. I love the way they look at dusk!
