Coffee Break #39 - Memorial Day Edition

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - sounding like the FBI could have had this Dutch murderer a month ago on extortion. Would have spared the life of the Peruvian woman. Terrible.

Check out my friend's pics, she has an amazing talent

Pretty nice. I think wedding photographers follow the herd too much. They all get into the same fads. They are overdoing the b&w these days, in my opinion.

flowerjen,

Enjoyed the photographic "story" that was told without a single word being used. Brava!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Very nice, I always think of how the couple must look 10 yrs later.

"A husband is what's left of a sweetheart after the nerve has been cut." (lol)

I said a few months back that the swine flu thing was overhyped.

Guess I shouldn't have stopped selling Pizzas!

What the heck do you need four kitchens for anyway!?

luvsgrtdanes-

Best wishes for this weekend!

I hope pain is minimal or non-existant, and all goes well....our thoughts are with you.

(Many decades ago, my grandmother said that to quell nerves, breathe deeply and count to three, before exhaling....it works.)

Re: 68 million for mansion......Let me get out my check book.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

It's too close to the city, besides who's going to clean all those windows?!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Lots of mansions in Alpine.

Thomaston, CT

Oh, & who would clean all those bathrooms? No thanks. I'd like a 2 bedroom, 2 bath on 1/2 of an acre....all gardens of course.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Ahhh, sounds much better, I still want the heliport and the dock though...

East Bridgewater, MA

Yep.

More house = more cleaning.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If you can afford that house, you never cleaned a thing in your life!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- true!

I will take the grass. I would be miserable in that house I would not feel comfy especially in the bathrooms with a view.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Who needs a bag?!!

Tattoo needles??!! Ouch

A pair of Bluejays decided to set up housekeeping in the umbrella on our deck. It's been fascinating watching them build their nest.

Their lumber needs are stored on the table until they start construction.

Cute, I'm suprised they built so close to the house.

This might be Mama.

I'm surprised too Jen. She becomes absolutely still if we come out on the deck.

Yes, I had a pair last year 10' from my house on one of my decks also. When they hatched they got territorial, - buzzed me whenever I passed by their nest, did kind of a 'nose dive' right at me! lol

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I'm waiting for that WC. Jays can be ferocious. I'm also concerned because the umbrella has gone sailing in strong winds. Not a problem now, but with my soft heart, I'll be out there in a hurricane holding the umbrella down if there are chicks in the nest.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Hmmm, that could definitely be a problem, make sure you wear a 'hard hat' while you hold it down... (lol)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Someone is auctioning 'the first tar ball to wash up on the beach at Pensecola' on eBay! Current bid is $4. Can you believe that?

I cant find that one but I found - First Tar Balls to wash up on Navarre Beach .01 cents and 10 bucks shipping.

You might want to put plastic down under the blue jay nest for cleaning reasons.

Very emotional read for me.

Was your husband part of D-Day, Robin? Sorry, if I brought up painful memories.
