Coffee Break #39 - Memorial Day Edition
Yes, of course we will pay - in many ways. Higher prices for certain foods, cleanup costs that will exceed what BP can afford, as well as the inevitable lawsuits.
Higher taxes! (I'm coming back as a pharaoh next time, this slave stuff is killing me...)
- The 'little people' don't get a break!!
Oh, you can be sure that WE will pay.
Victor, a town a half hour north of Houston called The Woodlands. It's a planned community started in the 80's. We are amazed that we like it ( the idea of it being planned and all), but because of all the trees and such, you can hardly see the shopping areas, churches, schools, etc. There are 160 miles of trails, lots of lakes, etc. Just a very nice place. They live in an older area, so the plantings are mature. Lots of cul de sacs, so traffic is minimal. I would need a map or GPS for awhile to find my way around.
Jeff gives his last final today. Graduation is tomorrow night. WOOHOO!!! He is very glad this year is over. He is going to teach calculus to 5 students a couple of mornings a week to get them ready for AP calc. So far, next year he is teaching AP Calc I and II, Physics and maybe an AP Physics.
His brother is flying up from Atlanta the 13th to canoe on the Western Susquehana for a couple of days, but has to fly back Wed. night. Hoping they have a good paddle.
Sounds nice, Jan. Wow - no easy courses for Jeff!
Actually, he prefers that. Better him than me. At least he also won't be teaching the 3 classes of chemistry.
And then he can finish the kitchen??? or is it done?
And I thought NYC potholes were bad!

Rehearsal and dinner tonight for my son's wedding on Saturday...Oh why am I a nervous wreck!? So much food to eat and I won't eat a bite I'm sure! LOL
How are you feeling?? Just have fun.
Right, Ronnie...tell yourself it's just a big party!
It's the groom who should be in full panic. He's the one who will suffer. ^_^
Whoa....spoken like an older groom! My DH & his buddy Harry always said they did 3 bad things....left their scholarships at Dartmouth, joined the Marines, & got married.
Hee hee. The three rings for a man - engagement, marriage and suffer-RING!!
Very baaad!
lol!
Distracting?? Ummm - yeah!! I think I would consider hiring her. ^_^

... well now he can be a soprano! lol!
Citibank is a wimp, I'd send her abroad to get more clients!
Jen, SNORT!!!! I hope he can concentrate on the kitchen, but he told me tonight that he is going to be teaching 5 kids 2 hrs/day 5x a week til mid July so they can be ready for his calculus class. I soooooooooo want to call Dear Genevieve or Candace Olson to come and take over. I just want it done. LOL
LOL!!! Guys are all alike...such wolves! She is pretty I will admit!
Dinner was wonderful all went well....one more hurdle on Saturday! Thanks for asking Victor, until today I was still in a lot of pain, trying one more shot at the steroids since the side effects weren't bad...took the first six all at once and was so much more comfortable. I just want to get through the day...I won't take the opiates they want to give you for pain, just don't want that stuff in my body...the roids are bad enough. If I can keep it somewhat at bay the NSAIDs should do it I hope.
The dam thing sounds like a movie plot.
Have fun Ronnie!!! No need to be nervous you're not the one getting married
Saw that article do you think the guy was going to rob the place?
A few of those outfits were def not appropiate for the office but if it doesn't say anything about wearing certain things in the dress code then.....just because she's hot you can't fire her for that.
I don't think she wore all of them to the office. One was just a robe.
Did you say 'dam', Jen?
☺
You did finish the whole pack, Ronnie?
When I first read it, Jen, I thought you were commenting on the woman and selectively left out the 'n'!
Oh, Ronnie, please enjoy the day and be pain-free. It will fly by in a flash.
Hee hee.
Yes Victor I finished the pack with no relief...put a call in to my doc 3xs, before she got back to me 3 days later. My husband had to see his ortho for his knee and asked him about it, he suggested to try them again and wrote me a scrip. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Even if it just makes it tolerable I will be good with that. I have percocet just in case but doubt I will take them....I will definitely be looking for a new doctor!
ronnie hope you get pain free - and i would agree on finding a new doc
Oil starting to come ashore in FL. Ugh.
I actually worked with a woman who looked kinda similar and she was told she was too distracting at meetings when she wore short skirts. The skirts were mid thigh length, I don't think they were inappropriate. She was gorgeous.
Photos?? Phone number?? ^_^
VICTOR!!!
Interested from a purely human resources point of view.
Right.
