My son was staining doors today, hence his maple hands!
Coffee Break #39 - Memorial Day Edition
Thanks, Allison....they are sweet kids!
Hi Marilyn! Your family is beautiful. I just finished my plant biology class. Still have to hand in all my notes and drawings for that. I got my final drawing back for the drawing class. She gave me an A+!!, but had to reduce it to a B+ because I was late. I'm good with that. In two weeks I start a short class called Drawing the Perennial Border. I hope I don't have to draw mine. It would be a drawing with weeds and grasses galore. Then, shortly after that, my next class is Drawing Roses. I can't wait!
It's crazy right now because I'm doing Census work. Victor, they put me out on the street. Mostly everyone's nice, but it's a lot of work.
Ouch, Jen! Watch out for those stinging nettles!
Hey Harper
Congrats on your A+, we knew you'd get it!
I'm envious, but maybe I'll look into some drawing classes or get my oil paints back out.
Jim takes rte 120 to go to work. Yesterday we went up rte 12 and he said: Look at the pine trees they are all turning yellow and dying. I said is it just here and what are they dieseased? He said - they are turning yellow all over the place, I have never seen anything like this. He dont know what is causing it.
Not enough rain? Beetle? Bad for NH tourism. Congrats, Harper.....knew you had the talent. I'm doing roses on the 8th & 14th.....
as it started to rain today i decided to hop the wall and walk through the woods to see if i could find the suet cage an animal took off our birdfeeder last week - and i found it - needed some minor repair from being torn open - just hope i did not get PI as the woods here are loaded with it.
The poison ivy is lush this year, & all over my yard. I don't like to use chemicals, but it has to go.
I'M baaacckkk!!! What a great time we had! Very hot and humid. Thankful for the pool. The youngest one was the daredevil and loved jumping in all the way. At times there were 9 kids and almost as many adults.
Wedding was very simple and short. It was in a beautiful wood and stone pavilion at a park there. My niece was the photographer and shot over 3000 pics over the weekend. Can hardly wait to see some. We hope to be able to get together like that again. Now we have 4 DILs. We are truly blessed.
I've been trying to catch up, but it's hard.
Now you have to find a way to post some pics.
Welcome back Jan, glad you had a nice time :)
Welcome home Jan23 ^_^
Thanks, everybody. Maybe I can get one of my DILs to post a pic for me.
I planted some caladium bulbs for her.

glad to see you home Jan... we missed you
no signs on pi - i am not really allergic to it although walking around in shorts i was taking a chance - the cage and empty plastic suit blocks where just over wall. thinking raccoon or fisher was the culprit. smart enough to go into the woods to eat.
Welcome back, Jan! Glad you had a good time.
Be careful, Harp.
Glad you had an enjoyable time, Jan...it's refreshing to get away for awhile. Bill, probably a raccoon...they have clever little hands!
Waiting for my kids' bunk bed to be delivered. Still have to get one mattress and the boards. Was supposed to get that yesterday but the scratched eye changed my plans.
Told my kids that I will sleep in the top bunk the first night since I never had one as a kid!
Hee hee. Didn't say that. ^_^
I would want proof.
Wonder how accurately they could estimate the speed of a Dunkin Donuts truck.
They want $, guilty or not.
I gave up hope on those guys, no one wants to eat toxic shrimp... - tough break for the bird life too.
BP and the Feds.
Thanks, guys. Today is feeling almost like it did in Texas. Not hot enough though.
I am having brain overload here. You guys are too funny. Will go back and look at the links later.
My brother didn't do a great job with the garden, but it's what I expected. Will take a bit to catch up with it.
Where in TX, Jan?
Well that is just scary....what the heck does a movie director know about oil spills???!!!!
That's what I said! lol!!
Ridiculous. And Bob Ballard knows way more about submersibles.
How about a big cork? or some bubble gum?
