Saw this Gray Catbird peeking out at me the other morning on my walk.

I just had a catbird come to the front window and mewing, so I better go check the jelly dishes I guess!

WOW EVERYONE ,I am so over whelmed with all of the beautiful photos,I was busy yesterday and so were all of you.The Owls oh my,the oriols, JUST every photo, GREAT GREAT GREAT
I forgot to say my Robins have fledged,I missed it,but I was planting flowers with my grandson,needless to say I had another fledgling of sorts under my wing yesterday !!! LOL he is 6 and is bossy about where and how much sun or shade and where tall ones should go.Have I created a horticulturist ??? Iam hoping....he also has a bird sanctuary,thanks to Birds and Blooms Magazine,and me !!!!

Here's a little Goldfinch from back in the winter.

Two Western Tanagers and a Bullock's Oriole came through at dusk last evening. They were obviously traveling together, something I have never previously observed.

Wow, Bill; Western Tanager and Bullock Oriole travel together! What wonderful sight to see! Nan, I'd love to see one of those Catbirds and to listen to it meows. DWM, nice female Gold Finch. SusanL, wow those Goldfinches are adorable, the Honeysuckles are marveluous, and your garden is one butterflies attraction. I see various Salvias, Coneflowers, and is that Casias for Sulphurs' hostplant? Whoa!

Brown Thrasher takes a break from sitting on its nest this morning.

There is at least one pair of Mississippi Kites that have taken up residence very near my house. They are beautiful birds.

I also found a Cardinal's nest in the grapevine by my back porch! I haven't been able to check to see if there are eggs yet.

Indeed Mississippi Kites are beautiful, lucky you having them nesting nearby! Nice pic. tbm.

I 'believe' this maybe Papa Cardinal is taking his little girl out for a hunting trip, lol. They hung together very closely from tree to tree.

The rain brought out the worst in some of my birds, including the Bald Eagles and Crows.

One eagle was sitting quietly in a lower branch and this one was dodging the attacking crows.

One more of the eagle.

This poor immature Oriole was just soaked from the downpour.

This older Bullock's Oriole was smart enough to seek shelter on our deck.

This Green Heron flew by us so fast as we were sitting at the table and I had to take a picture to even tell what it actually was.

Great pics. of the Bald Eagles once again Duc. Those crows they are too agressive for their own good aren't they? I can see the Eagle distress look. Wow, nice captures!
I am longing to see a green Heron here, but haven't yet. However, I saw a White Black Crowned Night Heron this morning. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

The kittes are great, had a pair nest behind my house 2 years in a row a few years back. Very elegant birds in flight!!

Hubby discovered a Pileated nest hole about a week ago, and we have been watching the little ones! What an experience to be this close to these gorgeous woodpeckers!

Oh Wild Rose I love it ...I wish I could find where ours nest at.....you are so lucky to be able to see that. We just have to wait for them to bring them here.

I have noticed that we have 2 female Red-bellied Woodpecker coming too...

Our Catbirds are now coming into the yard and standing on the ground under the suet feeders to get the crumbs.

Nanny... Is that female Red-bellied banded or am I just seeing things? That's interesting....

pelletory - in your 2nd pic of the Turkey Vulture, it looked wicked!

nanny_56 - That White-breasted Nuthatch with the fledgling was sweet. AND I like the way you framed the Gray Catbird. AND while I was re-filling my feeders I heard the racket of a Red-bellied Wp. She finally visited some on my Peanut suet. But unlike you, I didn't have my camera. :-(

ducbucln - I really enjoy your Oriole pics, especially the dad and his youngster. AND the pics of the Bald Eagles and Crow really got my attention. Nice
