TY, ge. Nanny, I think the oranges are the most dramatic, I wonder if it's only b/c orange is fashionable right now.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I also have the Landini growing and only bought them because they appeared as very dark wine in photos. Yours is lovely and looks to be more of a wine color. Maybe your heat or our cool NE temperatures change the color of the lily.

Isn't that the Casa (something) longiflorum lily we both spoke about on another thread?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I don't think it is the one we spoke of earlier as it is in another part of my garden. The one in the other thread was a larger flower than the ones pictured above. But I guess they could be, I haven't grown them long enough to say with 100% confidence.

You know which one I haven't seen yet? Bonbini. I hope it comes back, it had such distinct marking.

Steve, where art though? come show us your pretties.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Only one bloom here and it's from a former neighbor's garden so I'm of no help with Bonbini, sorry.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I had Landini's last year in full sun garden. They were just as dark as the website pix.A rareity.
This was the Lasagna garden started last March 2009.They were newly planted in April that year and I have a July29th date on the file.

lovely, they look great next to the rudbeckia (?). I had them in a pot in a shaded area last year. I transplanted to full TX sun this year. I haven't seen much of a color diff.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

The other plant is Echi Summer Skies
This is Octomom. Its a Fata Morgana with at least 30 buds. It came out of the ground that way.
I also noticed Sevin is needed back there.

jealous re: fata morgana. Have tried twice to grow it here, unsuccessfully.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Here's what we have to contend with to have lilies.
I was out fertilizing the JI's and saw a Red Lily Beetle. I went for the spray and 2 gallons later and 290 lilies later I am done. I saw 4 more beetles. These will strip a lily of everything in no time.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Does you Fata Morgana have a flatened stem? Be cure to take pics from several angles. :)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I'll check the stem.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes it does, about 1/4 inch thick and 1 inch wide.
Whats with that?

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

ge1836, best of lucks with those red lily beettles. I've yet seen them down South. But like Japanese beetles, they could be bad news. I'm reluctant to get liliums from vendors nowaday; for fear of beettles infestation.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

ge ~ your lily is fasciated which is not a bad thing, just interesting. Should be normal next year. Do take lots of pics!
