"What happened?"
"He lived happily ever after."

Play away our sorrows

Hi dillansnana, I've often found felt that way about music. : - )
kwan, always nice to surprise and delight you. : - ) Then you stretch your wings~
Are the lyrics quoted from a song? I'd like to hear it, if so. : - )
Sharon, we just like to know you're still with us. It's always good to hear from you. If it's any consolation, some of the quotes I use are from books and some from my calendar that gives one for each week. I have calendars that go back for years. LOL!
I've been known to snag them from emails, and even the farmer's almanac. I just give credit, and it works out, okay. I hope!
Welcome to evelyn_inthegarden. I like your thought. It is an optimistic one, while reminding us that the cycles in life remain pretty much the same.

Since I was feeling Blue about Father's Day, this quote seemed appropriate to share.
The photo is a Giant Bird of Paradise which bloomed on Father's Day.

"What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us;
what have done for others and the world remains and is immortal."

Jules, happy I touched something within you dear one.

My quote for today:

Live today as if it's the last day of your life.
*Me* or perhaps someone else also, no doubt.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Stole this one from an email a friend sent me.

"If we ever forget that we're one nation under GOD, then we will be a nation gone under."
- Ronald Reagan -

Good one dillansnana! Sure beats weeping. : - )

SW, it's song from one of my favorite bands, Blackmore's Night. Ritchie Blackmore used to play for Deep Purple before moving on to Rainbow with Ronnie Dio. Here's the whole thing...

PLAY, MINSTREL, PLAY

"Underneath the harvest moon
Where the ancient shadows will play and hide...
With a ghostly tune and the devil's pride...
"Stranger" whispered all the town
Has he come to save us from Satan's hand?
Leading them away to a foreign land...
Play for me, minstrel, play
And take away our sorrows...
Play for me, minstrel, play
And we'll follow...
Hear, listen, can you hear,
The haunting melody surrounding you,
Weaving a magic spell all around you...
Danger hidden in his eyes,
We should have seen it from far away,
Wearing such a thin disguise in the light of day...
He held the answer to our prayers,
Yet it was too good to be...
Proof before our eyes, yet we could not see..."

Good Morning. You will all love Evelyn. She is good people. I am just about caught up on my gardening and then I can sit back and enjoy it. LOL. I actually do believe it. My African Sumac's, I have three enormous ones, are still dropping leaves by the thousands. Thanks for the tip Jules. I will see if i can find something profound.

I love Gilda Radner. She was the funniest commedienne since Lucille Ball. She died way too young. Do you ever wonder what she and her husband Gene Wilder would have accomplished together? I do.

Here's one I am trying really hard to put into practice.

it takes strength to let go of one."

OK guys, my first try. I do not know the author.

Women are Angels. And when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly. On a broomstick. We are flexible like that. Hope everyone had a great day.

"The safest ship on the water is the one that's in the harbor".
~unknown~ (to me at least)

It's the quote I use to people being fearful of doing what will make them happy, but unsure if they are capable.

"Grief is the tribute we pay the dead...but they don't ask more than we can afford to give. They're never really gone from us, you know, those we love; they're part of our story, and we of theirs."
Mary Mackenzie, The Protector's War by S. M. Stirling

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

evelyn_inthegarden,
I get a lot of my quotes from calendars, emails others send me, beloved books, I've even used a couple from the Farmers' Almanac. One of our member's gave me the idea to collect them in their own folder. So when I see one on-line, I try to copy and paste to that folder. The rest I have to type in. No biggy. I type pretty fast. The main thing for me, aside for the veracity of the quote, is giving credit where it is due.

I've been saving this one, and it seems that today would be a good time to share it.

"The world is round, and the place which may seem
like the end may also be only the beginning."
~Ivy Baker~

Good ones, dillansnanna, Dr. Laura has some things right! : - )
DP, you mean I'm not the only one upset about the "gradual and silent encroachments by those in power", over my freedom to choose how to live my life? I'm so relieved! : - )
kwan, I'm going to have to request that book, at the library. Your quote really touched my heart. <3

Okay, I am getting really upset that I edited the last message and it won't let me complete it. Even if all I was going to do was post a heart, and my normal WIB, SW, it shouldn't have cut me off at the knees.
Does anyone know what's going on with this?
Thanks, because this isn't the first time, and it's frustrating.

It touched mine, too, SW. I had to mark it in the book until I could get to the computer again. I don't recommend reading that one first. It's part 2 of a series of 5. So far. Semi-sci-fi.

I search the internet, movies and books for my quotes. It all depends on my mood of the moment. Like now...the Moment.

“What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now.”

It's still a good one. Especially, since many of us have daily challenges and some controversy. (Or stressors.)
