Dellrose, love the redwinged blackbird. "Yea? Come back here and I'll kick your... behind!"
DAILY PICS VOL. 319
^_^
Speaking of birds with 'tude' Lord Byron, the Red Headed Woodpecker is king of the hill around here. Though he is very specific on his target of attack. Only my RedBellied Woodpeckers are his victims. Finches and other song birds don't seem to pay this bossy guy any mind, nor does he intimediate them in anyway.
From inside the house I can see that at time, L.B. will perch nearby, just to wait for the Redbellied to come near the feeder, then he go CHARGING at full speed.
Oh My, that's a real beauty Burd!
Thx GP! It was not easy these guy's like to hang at the tops of tree's...if I wouldn't have heard this new song I would have not looked up that far. Love the coloring on this bird.
Great job on the warblers.
Great shots Frank!! That first GBH, he looks too kool!! lol
Great shots Lily& Burd!
Frank, You really had a full day! Love all the pics especially the Green Heron and Purple Gallinule! Wonderful lunch time action shots too.
Fantastic shots, Frank.
Wow, Warbler Kingy, that Blackburnian Warbler is beautiful.
Rose, I can fully understand why you so love the Bluebirds. Wonderful shot of the Dickcissel and thank you so much for the Mockingbird.
Lovely Chat, tiger.
Lord Byron is very stately, Lily_love.
Mine, mine! Burd you're surely King! I can only wish upon the stars to see all so many beautiful Warblers at one place. Frank, how beautiful all those shots of the Heron and egrets in action, were you on vacation in Texas then (if I remember it correctly)? The Eastern Blue Bird fledglings are so so sweet. I'm waiting to see the Red Headed Woodpeckers to bring their young to the feeder (as they did last year). Currently the House finches are at that stage. They bring their youngin' to the feeder and chatter all the while. It's truly a delightful sight to see.
My Carolina Wrens too are busy feeding theirs. They hunt for insects, but also visit both the seeds and mealworms feeders which I supplement for them.
Margaret, thanks. I'm looking forward to see more of your posting in the future.
Cute one Lily!
Love the Brown Thrasher nanny!
