First up is a little Mourning Dove Love
It's been pretty dark and dreary here, but with 800 ISO, I'm managing to get some stuff.
The big news this week was the discovery of a Robin's nest with three babies in my lilac bush.
It was also the first week that the Gray Catbirds showed up.
And to add some color, here's a Rose-breasted Grosbeak male from a couple weeks ago.
Great shots Mrs. Ed. I love the "Dove Love". Envy----you have Rose Breasted Grosbeaks!! Wish some would visit me.
Well I don't really "have" them. They come through here once a year. I usually have 3-5, but this year have only had that one male. Nothing sine May 1.

Mrs Ed, wonderful start with those adorable Doves and your babies in the nest are priceless. Congrats grandma! Love the Catbird and that gorgeous Grosbeak too!!
AweRight, I finally caught up to the Daily Threads series and with only 5 replies to Mrs_Ed's new thread, ta' boot. Usually, I arrive and there's, like, 50 -70 replies already.
BTW, thanks for the new thread Mrs_Ed. The two doves sure look like they're in love. BUT that male Rose-breasted Grosbeak is to die for. I've had a few Catbirds around here, but not in great numbers.

Rose that was a great shot showing the 2 different orioles on the last thread!
Was walking and hear a familar pffft sound...and sure enough there were Indigo Buntings all over. However this was the best I could get! LOL

A third pair of Tree Swallows are starting a nest. They chose a box that I had stored on the porch. I got worried that it was too easy for my cat to get to the nest, so I hung it from the roof.
It didn't take long for mom to accept the new location.
Pop was a few minutes behind.

A male American Robin from a few days ago.
Baby Starlings (there are three of them in that nest) are getting curious about the world beyond my Oak Tree.

Took another trip to Ottawa NWR...still miserable weather...no rain but 48f and cloudy...but the weekend looks promising. However I did add 4 new Warbler's to my list and just missed 2 more new one's. Have some other Warbler shots from today also.
First the Chestnut-sided Warbler these 2 shots he was only 2 feet away.

I'm so jealous of all your warblers, Burd! Migration has been pretty sparce through here this Spring, but I'll probably be able to catch'em when they funnel through in the Fall:)

My husband snapped this pic of a Chickadee and Titmouse at the water saucer today.
I was so excited to see this female American Goldfinch today! I hadn't seen one in at least 6 weeks, and she was looking so pretty in her breeding plumage.

I'm seeing a wonderful collection of birdies I wish I'd see around here! Such beautiful colors and great photos! In looking back through my bird shots from the last couple of months, I found this one -- one of my favorites. A Mockingbird with attitude....
Another favorite, although this Indigo Bunting only paused long enough to let me catch this shot. I've never seen one before or since.
This Robin ventured into a familiar flowerbed and found a bird statuette I'd just put there. I love the look.
Mary, I love that Mockingbird shot! The Indigo is beautiful and the Robin one looks like it could do with a caption.
The captions are sometimes hard to think of. Not in this case, however.
I like these beautiful Eurasian Collared Doves.
I was glad to catch this Northern Flicker in the yard. Really pretty bird.
