Gorgeous, Patti!

Louise - The Prez is a clem, climbing up a rose in that photo.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Wha, Yes, but we could each just take one and that would end any cat fight except from you DW, who might want us to buy them for the big bucks.

Victor, I am hopeful that my Clematis The President will bloom this year at least half as well as yours. Patti

Oh - sorry to hear that, Bev. Thoughts and prayers are with you. Hope he is better soon.

I sure thought so, Victor. I've never seen a rose look like that! LOL I misread your post to indicate that The President was a climbing New Dawn rose. You know the old "phrase in apposition" trick. In any event, what a pretty color!! Do you lime your clems? My soil is so acidic, I have to dose mine with lime each spring. I'm wondering how my Fireworks will do where I put it last year.....climbing over the garden fence. I gave it and the iris's near it some lime last week. My next task when I get to feeling better is to rake all the pine needles out of the vegetable garden. It is FULL of them!

Beautiful scene, Bev! Sending you and your hubby some really good thoughts!!

No - never bother with the pH. I think that's another exaggerated thing with clems.

It's probably only exaggerated if you don't have a ph problem! LOL

My soil is VERY acidic.

Nice! Still no color in my peonies yet, and one has no buds....hope I didn't bury it too deeply last year. The only real red penstemon I had was a fern leafed one....can't remember the name, of course.

Very nice, Rama!

Malvern, PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Marilyn and Victor. Eflowergarden has end of season sale with cheap bulbs; I love peonies but finding full sun without ripping the lawn is currently not possible and they have it cheap. It is tempting.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

nice rama - i got a several peony's from them last year including two you posted above - and i bit on a few things from e-flowergarden today.

Thanks Bill.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love your fairy Bev.. hope your hubby feels better soon!!

Rama have you had your coral honeysuckle long?... I bought two this year.. just wondering how fast it will grow

Malvern, PA(Zone 6b)

This is probably the fourth year. The dark red one is slower to grow- I think it is the alabama crimson, the other lighter pink colored is the goldflame and I have had it for three years now. The one on the right is the crimson variety, with wisteria filling the canopy.

Very pretty, Rama! I can't wait until my peonies blooms. I moved a couple last fall and am anxious to see how they do this spring!

Allison - I have a coral honeysuckle in Fla. It grows quickly and the blooms are stunning!

I bought them from FL... it came with blooms... how long do you think it will bloom here Louise?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Having seen Rama's honeysuckle, I think mine in Florida is a tropical only. Very pretty Rama!

Malvern, PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Louise. My honeysuckles are in big pots in my deck and so it is not overwhelming or fighting with the wisterias. Mine bloom late spring and then repeatedly in flushes during the summer though not as plentiful in summer.

Allison - my coral honeysuckle in Fla. blooms year around - more at some times than others. I fertilize it when I arrive and it is just loaded with blooms around Christmas. I planted it (bought it from Bok Tower plant shop) 2 years ago, and I have to hack it back so the lawn guy can mow the pathway in front of it. It started out about 18" tall; now it is at least 8 - 10 feet tall and wide. I love it! It draws the hummers and other birds as well. I would expect that yours should bloom all summer if it gets lots of sun and fertilizer and then longer if it is in your GH with lots of light.

Rama - do you bring in your honeysuckles during the winter? Isn't it amazing what you can do in big pots? I grow my whole vegetable garden in big pots in Florida during the winter.

Bev - glad to hear that he is doing well now! Hang in there!
