I'm in and out today. Looks like we are in for more rain today--that is okay--just no really bad thunderstorms, please.

Bad weather predicted for the week. Started to rain already.

I don't know very many people here. Wonder if someone from CA would be willing to fly out and drive up with me :) LOL!! You're 12 hours. Maybe someone from TX wants to go???

Crissy, about the same distance as I will have to travel, turn up the tunes and press on the peddle, just like you did in Memphis..that should cut an hour or two off your trip..lol..you can bunk in we me, need to find area hotels, maybe someone could help???

LOL I can find a hotel, that's the easy part. I love hotel searches LOL! The hard part is getting Dave to not throw a fit about the distance of the drive. Maybe he'll be working by then... LOL

Crissy, solution to your problems dear friend. take a week vacation, fly to Toronto, visit with me a day or so, we'll travel to join the group, drive back with me and fly home..now you can't go wrong with that plan!!!

Crissy, when and where in CA are you going to be?

I'm not going to CA this year, my mom just got back home from Modesto and we're going to her house in Oklahoma City for Memorial Day Weekend, but I lived the first 33 1/2 years of my 37 years in Modesto. Girl, if I was coming to visit in CA you know I'd be driving up to Auburn, it's just a couple hours drive!

So I talked to Dave last night about the Canada/Ohio trip and DG reunion, he said he was fine with it if I have the time off!!! I need to find out exactly how much vacation time I'm going to have before I commit completely. Betty when are you going to leave your house to drive down to Cookies?

Remember, Betty, you have a p lace to stop on the way. My guest room is ready and waiting. I also looked at motels and there seems to be a nice Quality Inn just down the street from Cookie. What about it Cookie, is that the closest to you? Prices looked OK so I think that is where we will be.

Crissy, jumping up and down here...you tell me what days you can possibly have off and I'll work around those..ohhh so excited that I'd get to see you again..girls, she's a spitfire kind of gal..lol love her to death!

Cindy me and Dave have had this rivalry since June of 2006. We got married in April then at the first week of June he came back here to Arkansas to help his uncle, who refused to travel with him and stayed home in San Jose, with this house project (built in 1911, 3000 sq ft, Uncle Roy purchased for $13,000 so you can do the math and determine how good of shape this thing was in.) Dave said he was going to be gone 6 weeks max and his uncle was going to pay for everything since it was his house. Well, 4 months later and putting us over $25,000 in debt, Dave finally came back home and oh did he have a chip on his shoulder, the biggest chip I have ever seen anyone have.
Anyway, we muddled through it and moved back here Spring of 2007 and I went to CA August 2009 to visit some friends for a few days. He had no problem with me going, until he wanted to go by himself January 2010, for A Month!! I said "Not for a month, you're not working and we don't have that kind of money right now." not to mention the hell we went through before and I am not doing that again. He got mad and every month he would threaten with him driving to CA and spending a month 'because I went to CA last August for vacation.' I kept fighting and reminding him I was in CA for 3 days, then my mom said her and her husband were going! That has seemed to stop the whole argument and we had her pick up some things for us.

I'm worried about this because:
1. that he won't be able to find a job and his unemployment benefits will run out, and
2. that he will throw this vacation in my face and say 'Because you got to go to Canada and Ohio I'm going to CA!' and I won't have a leg to stand on.

He's an awesome husband, but when he gets a wild hair look out.

Yikes Crissy, sure don't want to get you into trouble...BUT you are saving him $$$$ lol
if you drove to the gathering it would cost $$$ so knock that the $300.00 flight, we can travel cheap/cheap...hey, before you know it we'll have it down to a manageable $150.00

Meanwhile, I'm looking at flights and hotels and what-not! LOL

Everyone seems to be having that problem right now...lack of work, lack of money, lack of time.....sure hope this economy turns around soon. It just doesn't seem right having so many people out of work.......businesses closing everywhere.....makes you wonder just how much a family can take

This is going to end up being a last minute decision... Betty I was thinking if I have the vacation time I could fly in on the 24th and fly out on the 30th.

OMG, I've been wanting to look at a Handy Quilter II and was browsing trying to find where I might see one and in operation..well a little icon I pressed led me to a quilting shop in your neck of the woods..says it's in Franklin, Ohio, better I go check the web again, seems too mucy of a coincidence right?

We have an annual family reunion on the 4th of July so I have to be home by then, and I just thought at lunch I'm sure Uncle Roy will be here the last week of June through the first week of July. He usually flies in the Tuesday before the 4th and flies out the first Tuesday after the 4th, so from looking at the calendar he will be flying in on June 29th and flying out July 6th.

I completely forgot all about the 4th of July. Blah!!

His visit didn't go well last year Crissy..lol...you could be back by then?

I'm going to ask Dave tonight when Roy's flying in, and oh Betty this year is going to be even better than last. Every year these things keep getting better and better. Betty I would love nothing more than to miss the whole 4th of July escapade. LOL!

Someone in Texas would love to be there, but I won't know till the time gets closer, and if I do show up, I will fly. Too far to drive.
