Liked Yosemite. Teton was better than Yellowstone? Wow. Yellowstone is so cool with the steam and geyser features, the varied landscapes and all the wildlife! That combo of ocean, woods and mountains is why I love Acadia.
2010 Garden Photos - Part 9
Not everyone would agree, I'm sure. But I thought the Tetons were absolutely breathtaking and it's just you, wildlife and nature - my kind of place :). Yellowstone is cool, but too crowded for me, and not as pretty. (Of course, it didn't help that parts of it were badly scarred with recent fires when I went.)
Love the name, 'Grand Tetons'!!
Was not crowded when we went to YS - late May / early June. The melting snow made for spectacular falls. We took a long hike - maybe 10 miles or so - at about 9000 feet and never saw another person the whole time, even though it was a marked trail. It was great.
not a fan of arcadia - not my idea of a "wilderness" - all the parls i gone to i've backpacked on multiple day hikes -best way to see nature if your able to do it. yosemite was great.
Wow, 10 miles, Victor! I'd be dead after just a few. My longest hike was 7 miles. Was in much better shape back then, and didn't have an arthritic ankle, nor bad knees, nor a bad hip. I'd love to see all those places someday. I've been to Yosemite. Loved it sooooo much! I hiked up to Nevada Falls and Vernal Falls. An all day hike. Maybe that was more than 7 miles. Don't really know. I was dead at the end, but well worth it.

Why am I not surprised you love the name, Victor :)
I was in Yellowstone late May too. I agree the waterfalls are spectacular and we also hiked in. It's not that I didn't enjoy YS, I just really fell in love with the Tetons, so much so that I would move there in a heartbeat, so all else paled in comparison afterwards.
I have not been to a nat park yet that I did not like.
debilu Glacier is almost in my backyard!!!! Well not really but sorta. Make sure you stop on the way along I90 at the Clark Fork river and collect purpley rocks (if you like purpley rocks).
i think i would like purpley rocks!
dnut, I saw my first moose in the Calgary zoo, so I was probably closer then! I'm looking forward to going, wonder if I can get some purpley rocks home...
They have little ones debilu. I just put them in plastic bags and boil them in the roaster at home to be sure I didn't accidently bring weed seeds home. I am going to incorporate mine into a new path to a new bench in a little area I am making this summer. First of all though I have to figure out how to get a giant ole currant out.
