I'm beginning to think this is NOT Joseph's Coat as I thought this climber is. Every bloom is identical. I'll wait for my other Joseph's Coat to bloom to compare colors.

My hardy gers are just starting.
Those are wonderful pictures. The promised winds have started. Poor kids in a tent in the neighbors back yard. Winds predicted to be 40mph with 60 mph gusts. No gardening today.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ronnie what does the Pink Capita smell like... looks like one to go on my list!!!

Malvern, PA(Zone 6b)

Saw so much I liked! Tex, your roses are lovely, no matter what variety. Ronnie, is that a David Austen rose? Rama, I would transplant the hollyhocks. Victor, loved the colors in that last combo. JoAnn, the coralbark is a winner, but not hardy in my zone... :(

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Is Coralbark the common name for that one?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah for you Bill!!!!

Thomaston, CT

I think so, JoAnn, but the JM owners would know....and that is a great photo, Bill....should be on a calendar.

East Bridgewater, MA

wha,

I love your garden photos, but I actually STUDY your hardscapes, because you have a real gift of framing a view.

Reminiscent of japanese gardens and their sense of balance.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

thanks all

coral bark is sango kaku - marilyn i have two of them surprised it is not hardy for you although it has the reputation of being not hardy - a good substitute is beni kawa for red branches although different leaf and color - winter flame is another that i am considering for next year comes from canada

Beautiful Bill!

Robin I don't know if it's and Austin Rose or not...if I can crawl under it I may find the old tag somewhere!

Allison, the Pink Capita smells like old fashioned roses...it's a nice one. I can send you a few cuttings or pick one up at the farmers market if she has them tomorrow. I think they were 3 for 5$

BA - did you see the quartz rock at the bottom of the stairs? it looks the initial of my last name:) got it from a friends property in western mass it was at the bottom of a very steep hill in a steam - she said if i could get it to the car i could have it - rolled it up the hill and the it lives here now:)

Yes! Looks terrific! Gardening can certainly build muscles if you like the big stuff.

I have a few pieces of much smaller rose quartz, and I cherish the accent they give.

Too bad those bigger pieces are so darned heavy; you have to bring in machinery to get the big ones in.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

pixie is supposed to be giving me some rose quartz - right celeste:)

Malvern, PA(Zone 6b)

Bill great job. It looks very orderly. I agree you do have a gift with your hardscaping. I look forward to what you do newly.
Marilyn, thanks I will transplant the hollyhocks.
I actually have sunflower seedlings between the rocks where I had the heirloom sunflowers.
