Oh, come on people......
All we have is spring flowers here yet! :(
And this is a picture of some of my spring flowers, the night before the snow us.
Yes, we got snow on May 8th! :(
I'll send those pictures after I get back home. I'm on my BF's computer and his just can't handle a lot. He needs an upgrade here.
Springtime Gypsies
Kassy, your flowers are so pretty!
Wow those are gorgeous Kassy, And Jim I can't believe how big your plants are! Looks like somebody is gonna eat good this winter :-) Is that flower an Amaryllis Jim?
I was just going to ask Jim the same question flowers. Looks like an amaryllis to me. One of mine just finished blossoming and the other one is still blossoming. For some reason the third one has not blossomed yet this year.
And Jim, send some of those tomatoes this way!
I thought I was doing good having one plant that is about a foot tall that I grew from seed. But then with us being colder here, I guess I'm not doing so bad. I'm sure glad it wasn't outside when the snow arrived.
Tulips and Daffodils anyone? Daffodils have ended now, but some of the tulips are still going.
happy Spring Kassy. The flowers are lovely.
Your garden looks scrumptious Jim...literally...grin. Is that corn growing in the field behind your yard?
Now that is an award winner JJ....grin
Yummmy JJ
BF has only held a pepper plant indoors over winter. We never tried a tomato plant, and with his cat's it's probably best. They have to taste just about every plant they can get there teeth on! :(
Yes, the flower is an amarylis. A lady who used to live across the church yard from me, gave it to us. She had a row down her drive and another across the front of her house. When she died, the house sold and the new owners dug up all the amarylis and threw them away.
Congratulations on the tomato. I can hardly wait to get the first one. The two plants on the far end are Jo's cherry tomatoes and they are loaded with plum size tomatoes. They should be ripe by next week. Even though they aren't my favorite, I'll probably be forced to eat some of them.
I would say you are doing exceptional Kassy, to have a tomato a foot high where you live. I have some young tomatoes I started from seed that are about six inchs high. They are black tomatoes. One is black russian and the other is cherokee chocolate. The cherokee is the best tomato I've ever eaten. This is the first time I've tried to raise them. I am hoping the blight doesn't hit them as they are heirlooms and not blight resistent.
That is a field of corn behind my house moon. Isn't it beautiful. It is now waist high since the photo was made. In another week it will be higher than your head and putting on roasting ears. The only problem is that most of this hy-bred field corn doesn't taste good.
I thought it looked familiar. My great Aunt used to grow Iowa Chief and golden Bantam for the table.
I started out my tomato plants early Jim. BF said I started them earlier then I should have, but now that we have the big one, he's saying that we may have tomatoes by July, and that is early for us.
I even got a second baby geranium to grow now! I have never seen geranium seeds sold here, and I can see why now. These things take for ever to grow. My first one finally has 4 true geranium leaves. The second one that just came up only has it's nursery leaves, and I can see one tiny true leaf starting to form.
They may blossom by the time it freezes............LOL
These plants will be held over for next year. I already told my BF that. They do fine in the basement window in the winter. My mom use to save some every year that way.
Oh and this is a diaper bear. DIL got it at her baby shower.
Way to cute to want to take apart. Made with diapers.
That is so cute Kassy. Is it made with pampers or cloth diapers?
Kasey!! How are ya girl?
OMG, That teddy bear diaper cake is adorable!
It's awsome about your plants. How cool you are having a veggie garden.
Waivin' hi everyone.
Everyone's pictures are very nice. Jim, I may steal away to your house and help Jo eat some of those cherry tomatoes! The dianthus are very pretty.
Kassy, that little diaper bear is too cute to tear down!
Give me a couple of weeks and come down and we'll pig out on mater sandwichs. My other tomatoes are bigger than a tennis ball, now.
It just dawned on me that I will not be here for tomato season.....Oh my... DHJim is gonna have to eat a bunch of tomatoes....guess the neighbors will be happy too.
Aw Moon! Nothing beats a tomato sandwich! Me 'n Jim will eat your share, count me in, Jim.
Only if he remembers to water them Moon. ^_^
All he has to do is remember to turn on the water JJ, but even that could become a problem....LOL
MY MY such sweet pics! Love the Diaper Bear Kassy! I planted tomatoe seeds and they are about an inch high, may get maters for Christmas dinner this year if we are lucky Jim :-) Oh is that sweet william flowers or dianthus Jim, they look alot alike. JJ your tomatoe looked yummy, did it make it until MD? Moon honey, got to tell ya DH will place an ad stating you pick em you can have em LOL.
Sorry, I'm on work rotation, so I get back in when I can :(
JJ, that bear is made out of pampers, or one of the brands. Who uses cloth now days? I know my kids won't.
Jean, tell hubby to throw a few of those tomatoes this way. Yours will be earlier then ours!
Oh and Jean..... I have 3 blue eyed grass plants this year ^_^
And I didn't plant any. I actually collected the seeds from last years, but I never got them planted yet. But all of a sudden I found 3 plants. I'm shooting for 9 plants next year :D
Hi Seed, long time no see!
Jim, love those flowers ^_^
And that reminded me that I got seeds for a different color then I have, and I better get those started or they may not bloom.
Have been to busy trying to get flower started for the house I work at.
OK, this was my spring flower bed last friday evening. It was raining when I took the picture.
Wow Kassy! You get the prize for the lastest snow fall! Glad you didn't get that 6 inches.
Kassy hope you get warm weather soon, we have seen enough of winter. Moon how is the topsy turvy tomatoes doing your way? Jim I can taste those mater samiches now :-)
They are really loaded and getting bigger and bigger. I just wish one would get ripe. Got plenty of fresh squash to carry me till they ripen.
How long do you think it will be before I see the cantelope that DIL and kids planted two weeks ago about 6" deep LOL. Gave $1.18 for one onion, and $1.00 for one tomatoe today, something has got to give thats just crazy!
Keep the dirt scratched loose on the cantalopes and they will come up.
Tomatoes are selling for $3 a pound down here. I don't buy tomatoes at stores anyway. No taste.
I told my son that I would sack up six pounds of tomatoes for $5 and he could carry them to his office and sell them. He said the folks in his office would buy every one I sent. Thought it would put a little extra money in his pocket to help make ends meet.
That is sweet of ya Jim...the folks in his office will be so spoiled....grin
Can you imagine what it would be like never to eat a tomato except for the ones out of a store. I think I'll have nightmares about it.
