Most of the newer echies are very unreliable. Surprised that they were small when you received them, though. GC usually send large, healthy plants.

The heat gets turned up tomorrow.

Received the weather station. Have not opened it yet.

With Bluestone, it's been size/quality/hassle for me. I have ordered from them multiple times in the past. Each time there were at least one or two DOA's. Now they have a 100% guarantee, but it's such a hassle to keep doing everything more than once. I also lost a number after planting - a real pain when you design for a certain number. The best way with them is to pot them up and baby them through the first year and plant them in the fall or the next year. I don't have the patience for that. I'm not into many (relatively small) pots - one missed day of watering could be the end of them.

By way of comparison, I have gotten smallish plants - similar in size - from Deer Resistant Plants, and have rarely had any problems.

As for price, you can often split a good sized perennial - like the size you get from GC, FW or others, into three right from the start.

I bought 3 'golden laminum' from Bluestone last year, all 3 disappeared in my shade garden within a month. This year I found the only surviving one, it has grown to 3 inches in diameter, so now I can see it! (lol!)

3pm: it's "only" 77 degrees,which is cooler than other locations.

"Hot butt" is for corn on the cob, and pancakes with syrup.

It was 86 in Goshen today....too hot for the kids to play outside for very long...Louise, I'm very satisfied with Bluestone....

Thanks for letting me know that, Marilyn! I looked at the plants online. I don't get the "strapped for cash" concept looking at their prices, Victor??? They don't seem to be very low budget! They are in the top 5 of the Garden Watchdog and I read a lot of the comments from customers. I guess it just comes down to a personal preference. I've had negative experiences with some companies that others have loved, so you just hope you hit 'em on a good day! LOL

Really?? I have not checked in a long time since I don't buy from them, but they were always pretty low-priced with the groups of three and frequent sales, coupons, etc.
