Our great hostess with some of my friends. Thanks Jules for a wonderful time and thanks Louise for having us in that wonderful 5 start hotel of yours (they take dogs and cats) and taking us to all those unbelievable events.

Pegi, your pictures are pretty darned good!
Thank you Rodica for everything. We sure had a very busy weekend. The time sure flew by.

It's so cool to see the photos that others take of our place.
The good news is that I did remember to take some this time. The bad news is I forgot to take as many as I should have, and much to my chagrin, DH took some of the best "Group Photos". And wasn't that hilarious too, everyone handing him their cameras and saying get a photo for me too!
(More on that in a few.)
These are some of my "helpers" who arrived early to help out. Bless them one and all!

quiltygirl did a great job of greeting everyone and nabbing and tagging 'em. : - )
Sadly, I didn't get her pretty smile in this photo, but the look on D's face was priceless! : - )

Just before she gave me a wonderful hug in greeting, I got this photo of Jo.

That FAT, OLD woman had a great time....thanks to all of you!! Did you notice that Miguel was drooling over my "original" DG Shirt? I told him how to get his own. I'll d/l my camera tomorrow...so be warned. Jo

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

What a great group. We went for a short vertical hike. LOL! Everyone is looking for rocks on the ground. We do have a quartz vein, which DH's Gma used to call a Silica Mine. It is probably the oldest worked mine in the region. The Indians mined the quartz to make arrowheads. The gold miners prospected for gold bearing ore, which this is, but at the time it was too costly to extract the gold. For which I'm very grateful. : - )

I stand by my original statement, Jo, you give great hugs, and have a lovely smile, too!
I missed the drooling, did ya get pictures, Jo? LOL!
John (KC's DH), Marie, and Michael's DFS(Darling Forgetful Son), were all ready to for the long trek along the ridge line. Too bad they were going the wrong way. LOL!
Marie is starting to pink up.

I think that's John up at the Sentinel Rock. The Indian men and boys used that rock to keep an eye on the surrounding country side. Early warning system, really old school. LOL!
In the ant free area below is where they made their arrowheads.

You know, I was so busy chatting or stuffing my face I forgot to take more photos, until someone said it's time for a group photo.
Here's my photo of some of the photographers. In my family we think it's funny to take photos of our family members who are taking photos of us. It's become a running gag, thanks to my Dad.
Makes me smile just remembering . . .

Moments after DP, caught this poor one-eyed rooster. Who is now going to be spoiled rotten by Lisa and given his own harem of 3 hens. Fred is one happy Rooster.
DP did real good, netted Fred 2nd try and didn't scare the hens really bad. Good Job, DP!

This is probably the strangest trade of the day. An old foot driven potter's wheel now has a new home with Kathleen and John. Do you see that big grin on my DH's face? He's been wanting for me to get rid of it for years. I waited til I found it a good home. : - )
That was the last photo I took during the RU.
Everyone had grabbed their booty, and some folks had already left. DP was a sweetie, and gave the potters wheel a ride home, and a few minutes after he left he came back, 'cause he'd left his coffee here. I am really glad he remembered, especially since we don't drink coffee. : - p
It was a lovely day, and I'll look forward to seeing my world through your eyes.
Thank you all for Blessing us with your company!

Good night sweet chariot. hat seems to fit this group. DH, Vern came home from the hospital today. Bleeding stopped so decided not to do the procedure. He was released by the doctor at 11am and came home at 5:30pm. He is not a happy camper but is now happy to be home with me, and HIS DOGS.

Get the message. He actually escaped the hospital, told me he was released and I picked him up. Then they called the house and said, yes he had been released but did not sign off final paper work so he had to go back. It is a good thing it was only 5 blocks west. So now we are home together, I am going to bed because neither the dogs or myself slept well alone last night. After 36 years, I missed his snoring. I have my purple ear plugs. LOL.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Glad Vern is home with you tonight Sharon. Hope all is well.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Really glad that Vern is home with you, Sharon. Sorry that you had such an emotional roller coaster of a weekend. I am keeping both of you in my prayers! I meant to say so yesterday, but dang it! I forgot to say it, not to pray it.
I hate it when DH leaves overnight. I never sleep well when he is gone. Of course I don't sleep well when he comes back either. Usually takes a few days to get used to him being gone or being back. Either way, I'd rather have him home!
Hang in there girlfriend, we're all praying and pulling for you two!

Good news Sharon. I am so glad that the two of you are back together. I know how bad it is to be apart.
I've been married for 35 years and with the exeption of three weeks in 1998, when I had to go back home because my father was dying, my husband and I , we were not apart for maybe more than 3 times, one night only , when he had to 'guard' the office. I would get so upset, that I would make myself sick from worries, so his boss did not make him
do that again.
Sharon, did they figured out where, exactly was the bleeding coming from ? Do they need to cauterize it in order to avoid a repeat ?
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Great photos Jo! That may be the best group shot ever. I'm even smiling! : - )
Even better, Jo, you can remember names. They almost always fall right out of my head.
I look at the photos and hope that everyone else had as good a time as I did. : - )
Now if only I could find out who left the dark brown sweater and the black vest, I'd feel a whole lot better.
BTW, thank all of you for doing the clean up. I couldn't believe how little I had to do afterwards. Since I was getting a little tired that was a very nice surprise. Many thanks!
Donna thank you for the lovely gift, it is beautiful and useful too! : - )
Your salad bowl and tongs are safe from my kids and DH. LOL! : - )
Sent DH to get me some choc milk from DeJongs on his way home today. I may or may not share with the kids. I might be addicted to the stuff. You enabler gr8cayte! : - )
Some of the nicest things that I got at the RU weren't plants. They were things that I was able to gift to others, the companionship of like minded people, and let's not forget all that great food!
The plants are just a bonus. A very welcome bonus!
Thanks to everyone who helped out, those who attended, and those of you who are far away but were still cheering us on. : - )
