I'll make this one my last. Indigo Bunting and a House Sparrow.

Margaret, I'm editing b/c I forgot to answer your question about the reed in the Black and White Warbler photo. It's Horsetail. I loved it as a kid when I lived in Canada. I believe that it's been around since the dinosaurs.

My my, Elphaba, what a great day of birding you had, such a nice variety I wouldn't mind to see those here. Great posting.
Love that sweet flasher of a hummer Rockminer, and all those Grosbeaks fantastic.
Wonderful shot of the Grouse, Tigerlily and those Quails and Warbler too.

Don't have very many Purple finches yet. Only one couple so far. I am anxiously waiting for my Spring arrivals

Elphaba - nice start I liked the first pic on the pair of Cedar Waxwings deep in conversation. Kinda reminds me of me and my DW - she'd be the one on the left. :-) AND the Black and White Warbler pics are really good. AND nice shots of Swainson's Thrush, AND the Indigo Bunting is really something!

gardenpom - At least you got a pic of a Swallow flying over.

tigerlily - I just love the pic of the little Song Sparrow was singing his heart out. AND congrats on the Lincoln Sparrow lifer.

ducbucln - Thanks for the well wishes for my mom. Things are gin well. I really liked the pic of the Western Flycatcher AND the "Bullock's" Oriole. AND you have such colorful birds. I sure like the Black headed Grosbeak.

Lily_love - looks like your Goldfinches are getting their colors. Mine are looking "yellower", too. AND I still have Egrets and Great Blue Herons at the local water park.

MargaretK - your Rainbow Lorikeet is just too pretty! AND the in-flight pic is shows off even more of its beautiful colors.

nanny_56 - I haven't seen an Eastern Towhee, male or female, around here in a while. Nice snaps!

adelbertcat - the pair of California Quail in the pear tree is a really nice pic.

rutholive - even with the birds, I think your flowers are great.

VA_Wild_Rose - I have whole peanuts out, trying to lure some Blue Jays, but no luck yet. You got a real nice pic, though. AND I liked the pics of the birds of prey, but that Great Blue Heron flying by was great! Your new Canon 70-300mm IS USM is doing a great job for you.

Hey, Burd_Fotos, all your pics on here are really great. Were you using problematic Canon 400mm lens you were talking about on the camera thread? Because, if you were, you sure got it working good.

pelletory - Quote, "Hack, Best place to release them would be Great Britain. ;-)" You reckon Resin would take mind too much?

rockminer - So many Black-headed Grosbeaks, unreal. AND Oh, yeah, I liked the looks of the "flasher".

burn_2007 - I liked the way you captured all the sheen of the Grackles - beautiful

Hack

Nice shots all and really nice to see the new birds arriving!!
Hack, all but the Blue-winged Teal were with my 250mm f5.6 IS. Yes the 400mm has been quite a challenge especially going from a lens that has IS to none at all...but Ive been working on it. Here are a couple shots with the 400mm.
This Grackle was about 40ft away...I raised the f-stop to f11 and it didn't come out to bad, it was a very bright day plus the picture was a little back-lit.

This Wood Duck was in the weed's, but I,m thinking with the f-stop not wide open (5.6) the lens at 7.1 was able to get some of the bird rather than a lot of the weeds...bird was about 40ft away.

Tiger, That is an excellent shot of the beautiful Audubon's Warbler!

Elphaba, Wow you have so many incredible birds! Love the Hooded Warbler and the Tanagers! The juvi Summer Tanager really showed his beautiful colors off for you!

Burn, Very nice shots of the Purple Finch and Grackle!!

Hack, I don't think Resin would mind at all. :-)

Burd, Love the Wood Duck and Grackle!

burn_2007 will be starting the new Daily Pics thread soon.

Catching bugs and feeding babies has become a full-time job for the bluebirds. I thought maybe Daddy was tired of eating at the Pink Diner three times daily, so we opened up a new restaurant with a New Orleans decor. Same menu. Mealworms-- breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Burn, the grackles looking so grand. Beautiful coloring, nice capture. Elphaba, congrats on the different Tanagers, I wished if only I can see one. I'm so envious. GP I adore your Buntings as well. Thank you Red for sharing of your Blue birds and their babies pictures!
