Tropical Garden #71

Red Oak, TX

joeswife, I will have to find me a John Clayton, I love honeysuckle plants. I can't wait to see pictures of your pink pampas grass. My pink mail order pampas grass turned out to be a ugly white.

This Philo. Verrucosum x Andreanum Hybrid is one of my best plants, the biggest leaf is over 2 ft. long and bronze on the back.

This one is a 3 ft. long Pitcher plant, that refuses to grow the prey-trapping mechanism on the end of the tendrils.

Rita, this one : http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7736149

is awsome.. is it in the GH or outside?
If you want any of my honey suckle hybrids, let me know, they are quite tame compared to our invasive Kansas Honeysuckles.

new pot for pretty, had to cut down the Red Canna from Rita, now it has to start over, trying to decide whether to put it into the ground or keep it in the pot. I have no clue about how hardy it is here.

joeswife, that Philo. is planted in the GH. The canna Australia is hardy, up to zone 7a. If it dies, I can always send you another start.
What are all those seedlings you have in the pot behind the Cannas?

This is the ugliest flower spike on a bromeliad ever!

This Aechmea Black Chantinii is one of my favorites Bromeliad.

While lurking on the Bromeliad forum, I saw where someone attached their Bromeliads to a old branch. My next project is to copy their idea using a few that I have in hanging baskets. I hope that it turns out as pretty as the one I saw.

Beautiful pictures everyone!

Rita, that is one gorgeous Philo. Verrucosum x Andreanum. The plants you are able to grow inside your hoop houses as well as outside are alway's stunning to view and Debra, great growing on your Alocasia Poly.

Love all the beautiful plants and flowers here.. I have a black EE up, lime zinger waking up, a caladium up. and it is too dark to take pictures right now, supposed to get up to 50mh winds at 80 degrees tommorrow so spent the evening undoing anything wobbly, securing the baby things under the patio table, and took down the umbrella and three hanging baskets and my new crane. I sure do get alot of excersize this way! LOL
Rita, unfortunately when I get into a "seed" frenzy, I plant and then forget to put the markers that I made in advance in the pots.. duh! so, what those are up there you asked about could be any number of things.
I can identify all my prenniels tho.. Finally I saw some shoots under the wood skeleton of that wine coloured hardy hibiscus I planted last year! The varigated pink tips or sugar tips is all leafed out, and that wegaelia is now blooming. I did it! YAY! By the way Merlee, I have ONE plumeria out of the four I started out with, and I have no clue why the ONE is still alive. Yours are awsome.

don't get all excited, I live in the midwest and things take awhile here.. LOL
These things came from Padre Islands from my ex.. I still do not know how I am supposed to grow them, if they flower or not, they are in a pot of soil..

Same with these, now keep in mind I kept an aloe very healthy in the wnter the year before last in the basement, but once I moved it outdoors, bam! it turned to jelly. I hope I do not see this with these, they are kinda cool.. ( would help if he had told me where to put them and how to care for them)

my two gold fsh are finally settled in enough to come up to get fish food from me, since they are in full sun I have put a few things around the pond.. this turtle was my Mothers, she is thrilled, I am sure, from looking down in Heaven and seeing them hiding under it in the shallow water...( I really miss my MOM right now, sorry )

This view will look totally different in a few weeks, the fence will not be visible by end of summer, and you will not recognize this scene when I show it next time. Just sayin'
