me too... others interested?

Is an Iris a bulb or tuber? And if a bulb does it mulitply like tulips?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I think J and J are interested :)

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Most Iris are rhizomes, but some are bulbs. Rhizomes increase, not sure about the bulb kind.

So if its a bulb how do you get a new plant if it dont multiply? I got 2 from ??? at Kassia'a 2 years ago. I still only have 2.

South Hamilton, MA

She told the different types (briefly) but still seemed to be talking more about rhizomes than bulbs. Maybe she was describing Dutch irises. Rhizome is NOT a tuber by the way, should not be underground.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

the tuber comment made me chuckle

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Pretty pics Venu. What a difference one zone makes, you are way ahead down there but it won't be too long here either for some blooms on the lilacs and azaleas.
