Debra - Neat that you got a plant from a brug seed. I've had really good luck in the past with brug seeds as long as they are fresh seeds.

Hi Becky that is my alocasia Poly, it just got a new pot and now is back in her place inside with the other very special tropicals that are not going outside yet. Here it is the end of April here a some shots reflecting the 25th thru the end of today...
this is the nursery that was down in the basement, front porch corner north side..

New Pot, took some babies and transplanted them away from Momma, hope to see a bloom on this since it is so old now..this is to the left of our front door

I gave a pot of thesejust like this one to Paula and Mike( brother and sister in law from my deceased husband, not Joe.) to plant right before he went in for his quadruple heart by pass.. I kept these for my college girl, they will go back to under the vine arbor on the side of the house until fall, at that time I will make a special bed for them to multiply into hundreds. Mike had his surgery on Monday, he is now home we saw him tonight and He looks good..

this is the prenniel pot of sedum and rudbeckia black eyed susan.. Once the sedum blooms I will take it out and repot them into smaller pots for give aways, and then the other prenniels can breath and come up.

little columbine robin is still blooming in the shade of the big red bushes..

This is part of the front rock garden up against the house, facing East.. the blue balloon flowers, Phlox and others are up around the new addition of prenniel dianthus.

This is behind the Brick wing, east end of the south garden bed I put in year before last.. the bamboo has traveled and is running into the other prenniels there.. also my Kaitlyn brug is in her new home for this summer..the rose of shron is the seedling I started from seed from Paulas old house, double ruffle purple, boy did it grow since I put itin the ground last fall..those pots are loaded with seeds..the lillys are from last fall planting..

This azalea is new and is directly across from that Brick wing corner..

This is looking west from the south gate into the south part of the back yard.

in this area right off the south part of the front porch I have seedligs and the bottle brush bush and brugs and morning glorys, coleus and other things I started inside last winter. Eventually these will be placed in different locations.

new caladiums I started in March are up in their little blue basket.I can move them around that way.

this is a box downstairs of Lazlos' mystery mix.. once I see some green I will move it outside. can't wait to see what pops up!

This corner has some cuttings of different things rooting, and pots of other seeds planted, soon as I see green, they are going outside to the dogrun nursery table.

Looks alot different down there right now, will be turnng this into a tropical atrium over the next couple months, the spread is for my duke Dog ..

Momma squirrell jumped from the pear tree to the feeder on the back elm tree as soon as she saw me coming, I think we are expecting from the looks of her

her eyes are bigger than her hubbys..

This is the corner bed that we added the huge stone and the porch rail from the folks who used to live next to us , Miss Kitty and Warren, they are both passed away and we have a new young family there now, but this rail means alot to me, the rock was from the next young couple that moved in, they divorced and the new kids there now gave us that huge rock last year.. monardas pink supreme, magness cone flowers, salvias, daiseys, henry eilers rudbeckias, lions tail, yarrow, and a whole bunch of new things are going to pop up this year, since I added about 5 foot out to it.

Peach Versi brug back where she was llast year, surrounded by all that other stuff.. just to the right is my nanking cherry, it bloomed this year and tripled in size.. next to it o the left is another brug, and the iris are new additions from FALL RU last fall, and in front of her is the butterfly milk weed, some asters and other things. The border dahlias will be coming up next.

South Fence garden looking East

the poles are set up for the morning glorys, this is a little further East on the south fence, Crane area I call it.

These came from an excursion to a little private nursery two hours north of me with another DGr who met me..

Here is Orechaea Morning glory.. now it has a pole

brug cutting, and some seedlings of other things around it. Her name is Cotton candy, thanks to Faye!

This is in a pot of the tallest brug I have, and this red Pilo is from prita. The Brug is from another nice DGr, her name is Chrissy. Red Philo has long red leaves and one is unfurling soon..

Another Philo split leaf from RachelF, had to show it, it is getting used to being outside behind the A/C unit on the southeast corner across from the vine fence. That huge Pot holds the tri coloured Hibiscus Tree from my daughter Rose last Mothers Day. Everything is getting used to the wind, heat and rains that come with being in Kansas.

I had to show the whole base of it so that someone could see the Black EEs she sent me.. Hello Momma , I am fine she says.. (RachelF)

This is directly across from the a/c unit on the southeast corner of the backyard. This area is being covered by John Clayton honey suckle, Morning glorys, Sweet Autumn Clematis,,Mandarin Honey suckle and a slew of other things here, to wind around the trees ( mulberrys ) that I clip and shape to fit my needs. The trees are on the neighbors side, but they do not mind my tending to what ever I tend too, the get the results from my blooms for free.

at the base of this to the right is this varigated vinca vine I have been growing as a prenniel..

amost finished with the April tour .. here is the trellis on the southeast corner, do you see the wisteria? It still has not bloomed. There is also a bignonia trumpet vine ( cross vine) there.

New border dahlia in the front of that bed.. and over in the farthest southeast corner is the salvia gaurantica B&B come back up, along with the violets, lillys and a slew of other things.

going over to the dog run area, this is the snowqueen hibiscus that overwintered downstairs and bloomed, akong with wisteria, honey suckle, wild flowers, and more mornng glorys. We have new neighbors to the west of us in both houses, and they are all younger and like to garden. Behind the fence in the alley, I have wild flowers plated, potatoes, peas, okra, sunflowers, cones, and well, alot out there by that fence in the alley.
