Oh goodness Betty! Bet you were really scared with the car chase.
Hope you find your missing plant! Geesh, hope she did not throw it away!
Ow on the smashed fingers! Was the store not open for business? Wonder why the doors were closed? Hope the fingers feel better soon!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Visit with friends...
Betty, you should have asked for the manager! Wal*Mart is responsible if anything goes wrong with your fingers! If you couldn't get the door to open, it shouldn't have opened for you to go out!
Whew! I'm caught up with my work until Monday, then back at it again! Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday is our Spring Prosecutor's Conference so I won't be at a computer at all those days, so I've got to get done with everything by Tuesday.
Betty I got caught in the middle of a pursuit like that once, it's freaky because you're trying to get out of the way! In Modesto they will try to have police cars that stay in front of the person running so that way they can block streets off before the pursuant gets there.
Wonder why those doors were locked? Were you in and couldn't get out, or were you out and couldn't get in?
Morning all,
Bitter cold outside so it's an inside play day..calling for same tomorrow..actually when I let Sailor out at 6:30 it was snowing lightly..think Barb sent me her snow...brrrr...was suppose to go with Cathy to a garage sale at 9:00 but I'm sure it will not be held...
Glad Crissy you've managed to get your project done sure must be a relief..
Debbie, sorry you are overwhelmed, all you've been through is bound to catch up with you, now perhaps the family can give you some special care/love and attention..lordy this past year has been dreadful..wish you were closer...
LindaKay, store was open, I went outside into their garden area and couldn't get back into the main store..malfunction of doors I guess...that's what you get when you are out shrub hunting at 8am..lol..did manage to purchase 2 ninebarks, need about 10 more shrubs to really enclose the secret garden, figure if I pick up one a week and plant then in a few years they will grow and that area will completely be hidden..I was going to plant them this morning but best I leave that for another day..too cold to disturb them..
Audrey, did tell the manager, didn't seem too concerned, said she'd go look into it.. no damage i.e. broken bones, just sore..swelling is down so all is well..
Trisha how did Laura make out at the dentist..any news on the home yet? sounds as though you never stop..busy/busy and now add biking season to it..wow, you'll be exhausted, just don't overdo..how's our Miss Sage?
Mary, yes, I've several hydrangea's and all are doing ok..just maybe their is a winter hydrangea? guess it's a busy weekend for you as well?
Susan, is it today your open house, good luck if it is..hope someone comes in and says ' now this could be home for me'
Tubby, hope you are having a good day..
Bev, any news on Scotty, is he adjusting to the thoughts of having to stay longer?
Guess our Judy will be home shortly, can't wait to see her photo's..
Liz, any news???
Thunder, how's the quilting going?
Melanie (DIL) is gone to the spa with her sister's and mom this weekend so Kyle and Noah are with their grandfather...Greg got a call from the specialist and they want to see Kyle today so the grandfather will bring him as Greg had to work this morning...
He did come over last night to re-connect my clothesline, stayed for supper and the evening, left about 10 so it was a pleasant visit..I've a few more things that need done, said he might drop in later today and do them for me...
Mom is not sure that she'll come from the cottage and spend the day with me, her leg is still infected so I told her it would be best to do what the doctor said and put her foot up and rest otherwise she'll not get around next weekend. we wouldn't want that would we!
If she doesn't come then I'll finish putting the stained glass piece in it's frame, sew the last of the strips on Caleb's rag quilt and with luck just might finish another afghan..there just might be a few hours open that I can sit and relax...
Better get a move on...
Scotty needs to stay indefanately. He is not a good patient. From all the stress all my hair is falling out and my blood pressure will not settle down. I just can't handle him any more. I hate but that is the way it is. He thinks I want him to stay because I am having so much without him. HUGS TO ALL BEV
How very sad you must be Bev...there comes a time when decisions must be made in order to look after your own health! Are you able to take something for the blood-pressure, am sure until you get Scotty settle you'll not get it under contol...dangerous thing to have...
Once he sees he's not forgotten and you continue to visit and spend time with him he'll get used to how it must be..regardless am sure you are overwhelmed...
Love the photo and am so glad at least you have your gardens to walk and play in..never closer to the Lord than in a garden.. sending you soft hugs and prayers...could you post where Scotty is Bev so that some of us can send him cards???
morning all,
Betty, Jake said they said everything was beautiful they saw, he said there coming home Saturday? asked him if he meant they were headed home today but i didn't get a message yet lol,
but then again i could just see that rascal looking at his phone saying out loud i said sat what didn't you get?
bev big hugs to you gawd i know all about the hair loss right now just hate it happening
prayers go up for you.
waving hello to all think of you all, but just to overwhelmed to sit and write like i really would like to.
with both family just pulling us constantly and throwing the guilt trips at us will write soon
That's a great idea Betty, Bev he just doesn't see that you know what's best for him, and you. Some men don't go to the doctor like they should and just think that everything is going to be alright. He's doing exactly what Dave would do in that situation "I'm alright, you're having too much fun, this isn't fair, I need to come home!" Oh Yea, I can hear it already.
Betty I hope your mom is able to go with you, ug infection.
I'm not planning on doing much today, most of the weeds are dug, everything's watered, supposed to rain later this evening anyway, no money to shop with and boy am I in the biggest shopping mood ever, so I think it would be best if I just planted my tail here at home.
Morning Betty. Sounds like you have a few things planned for this week-end. Surprised to hear you had snow this morning! it is the middle of April, snow is supposed to be gone!
Hope you find all the plants your looking for. Not for sure what a ninebark is?
Hope you all have a very blessed week-end.
Bev, sending prayers to you and hubby. It is a very hard decision to make, but you need to be healthy so he can come later when he is healed. If you haven't already, please see a dr, yourself. Stress and high blood pressure is not good!
Liz I know how that is too, Dave's brother (the 6th of 6 children) is always wanting Dave to do special things for him. For the past 5 months him and one of the sisters (the 4th of 6 children) were trying to get Dave to come to California to fix their mom's house, which is beyond repair. I threw a fit and Dave finally got it through their heads that he's not coming, we don't have the money and I need him home to tend the garden he built and what-not. About 2 weeks ago Dave finally got it through their heads that he isn't going. The other day the youngest brother sent Dave an email asking Dave to drive 721 miles to North Carolina and pick up an ice cream machine for him, and send it to California! Dave immediately said NO, he should have had it shipped himself. Unbelievable! Dave is the 5th of 6 children so he is right between these two in age an it drives me absolutely nuts. My family consists of my parents, a step-dad who mom didn't marry until I was 28, and my dad's girlfriend who I didn't meet until I was 33, so there is no connection with their families and me at all, so I'm not used to all of this drama between siblings, aunts, uncles, step-moms, etc.
Me and Dave have learned to bounce things off of each other. If it has to do with his family and it's not a ridiculous idea, like the ice cream machine was, he'll tell them something like I've got a honey do list made up for him that's a mile long and he can't leave, and if it's something that someone brings up to me and I don't want to I'll just say, "My husband said...." It works Liz, you all should try it.
Wow! I just looked at the weather report, our highs have been 85* all week, today a cold front is coming down from the North and tomorrow the high is going to be 62*!
happy birthday bev!!!
Thank you Liz. I went to see Scotty this morning and came back and planted 14 daylilies and I am pooped. UGS BEV
Happy Birthday Bev..omg I had better start putting the birthday corner on my opening page, had it not been for Liz I wouldn't have seen that it was your birthday! Thanks Liz for keeping on top of things...
Bev, was Scotty in better spirits today? Were these new daylillies Bev..know you order from time to time...you didn't overdo did you..
Well Caleb's blanket is done, didn't get to finish the bag nor did I get to finish the afghan..had company all afternoon in fact just left so I'm off to bed...yamning away here-sure sign that it's time to call it a day...
Best...just enjoying the day..
Worse...news on Mike
What did I learn...hmmm must have been something..oh yes, bought those soup pkgs at the Christmas Tree store last time I was in Buffalo, made the pea soup tonight and it was fantastic so guess I'll be picking up more...beat cooking although one would have though (and did) that it was homemade..lol..
Hope you've all enjoyed your day...
Happy Birthday, Bev!
Keep Smiling!!
yes, our Open House was today, but no one came (except for one realtor, and a curious neighbour).
I am so angry at the City - they're making everyone nervous about buying in this park, because they say they're going to move everyone in 2 years. They haven't even bought the land!! There's no way the park will move for another 5 years, at Least! It's an election year, and they would need 40-60k to buy the land - As IF!
BUT, it makes our home un-saleable............. ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!
I feel on the verge of tears right now.
BIG HUGS to you Susan...... That sounds SO unfair....
Please keep your chin up... I know it's hard.....
Hugs,
Mary
PS: DS18 has let me down today... I feel wounded. Can't elaborate... but just feel Wounded....
Weather is warming up...still mostly rain, but at least it is warmer.
Scary thing to be caught in the middle of a police chase. Did a ride along with a police friend once...no chase but we were code to a gang fight....scary fast driving in the city....the rush is unbelievable!
Things are going along. Laura is feeling better...still has a lot of work to have done.
They have opted out on the house....the company just kept adding little things that kept upping the payments until they decided it was just too much. Payments starting out were to be around $1000 a month, then they mention the HOA fees, and this and that...until the payments were up to almost $1500 a month plus landscaping that would have be done by certain date, specific type of fencing has to be installed by a specific date...just kept adding up. They are still looking, but for something a bit more reasonable. I was very happy with their decision.
Sage is doing great...they have 2 new rescue cats. They are about 6 months old, black long haired kitties and so pretty. Sage has her 9th birthday coming up on the 22nd. They are going up to Port Angeles to visit her Grandma Jackie (Laura's MIL).
A bad day here yesterday. They found a 23 year old girl dead at a house just down the street....police of course wouldn't tell us much of anything, they were not sure if it was homicide, suicide or unintentional over dose... nothing in today's paper...maybe tomorrow. But It is sad and not something you like to see happen, especially in your own neighborhood. None of us really know any of the people down on that end of the street.
Finally got the back yard mowed and the beds weeded out, now I can start planting a few things. I am so ready for summer.
Morning, all my chores are done for the day lol and can't work outside much much too cold brrrrr so the furries and I will enjoy a day of rest!
Bev, know you've overdone with garden work and the purchase of plants but just think what joy they'll bring you this summer...did you purposely put the pine needles in the bed for them? is that the trick?
Susan you must be beside yourself, maybe a trip to council will make you feel better..air your views on the subject..lordy what a terrible situation, no wonder you are in tears..open houses don't always pan out but there still could be a chance to sell! Hope passerby's see the for sale sign and listing and at least come to see it..how disheartening....hugs for you my friend..
Mary, you day didn't go well either..nothing like having your heart broken..let's hope there is sunshine in your life today..these young ones try and find their adult footing and sometimes follow the wrong path.. hugs for you as well...
Trisha, must have been disappointing for Laura to have to back out but better now than going through with it and finding they wouldn't be able to keep it..perhaps finding one that already has the kinks out of it might be the solution that way they'd know exact cost.
Sad about the young woman Trisha..guess the police have it blocked out and you'll not hear much until autopsy has been done..gives you a queezy feeling though that someone might have murdered her...doors locked I hope...
Imagine Sage turning 9, how time flies..you'll have to have an early celebration for her. Will she keep the kitties?
I haven't cut grass here yet, next weekend I'll be away but it will need cutting by the following week I'm sure..don't know why I say "I" because all last year Cathy cut it on Fridays for me..I do enjoy cutting grass though, maybe I can say I'll cut every 2nd week..I feel guilty that this young lady comes and does so much work here but she says she enjoys so I don't want to take her sunshine away...lol...
Linda Kay ninebark is a shrub that grows about 10' tall and can get about 10' wide..I have a few near the pond..lordy they've grow about 6 ft. in 3 years...they have maroon/gold shimmer leaves and in the spring small pink flowers..nice color to add to any garden.. what do you and dad have planned for today..pants all done?
Crissy glad to see the topic of Dave going the California has stopped..must give you some piece of mind..now that your gardens are done you'll be looking for something to do today?
Did you get your spring wreath done and hung? photo please...
Wonder if it's today Judy comes home?
Off to start my day..waving to all others...
Coffee and porridge awaits me..will drop in on my next break...
Happy Birthday 'Tubby' may your day be filled with sunshine, friends & family...you deserve the best....dieting is no fun, please eat an extra piece of cake for me will you?
Plans change..lol...elderly friend from MacTier, about 1 hr. north of me called, said she was feeling down, forgot how to paint the clock I had sketched for her and could she come for the day...isn't that what friends are for?
So off I go to put something on for lunch...
Betty you are such a nice lady, always dropping what your doing to help someone out! But I can see why, when there is a craft project to do! Have a nice afternoon!
Happy Birthday Tubby. Both Norm and I hope the day is just great and is a very happy one for you..
Yesterday was Norm's b'day and today we are off to daughter's to celebrate.
Have a great day ll...
Happy birthday to Norm!
ARGH! I missed Bev's Birthday!! I hope it was a great day for you and you didn't overdo yourself planting those lilies!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TUBBY!!!!! Have a marvelous day!!! and Eat Cake!! LOL
(((((SUSAN)))))) Don't get discouraged, Open Houses are for the Realtor, not the seller. Did you know that less than 1% of ALL home sales in the United States comes from open houses? I'm sure Canada isn't any different. Do you know how many houses sell that have unnecessary expensive taxes on them, called Mello Roos? People don't care, if they like the house and like the area they really don't care. All you need is one buyer.
I didn't show you a photo of my wreath?? Let me find it...
Hey Crissy, love that wreath. It is very pretty!
Crissy your wreath is really pretty and so full of the promise of spring. You did a great job....
Go play for a few hours and lordy find out I missed another birthday..lol..we need someone to remind us 1 day before someone's birthday...I'm sooo bad with birthdays, thank goodness Greg's is New Years' Day and sister is April Fools Day, otherwise I wouldn't remember any...Barb, please wish Norm a belated happy birthday..did he get spoilt..
Crissy, love the wreath ..you found your niche, should be making and selling them..
Even though the sun is out and strong the wind is bitter cold..Marg was just leaving when Greg arrived, as promised he came and did the few chores I needed done..I'll say like Roger used to say, 'that's my boy!' lol
Lovely visit with Marg..a life long friend of her passed away and was burried at the beginning of the week and she was just lost..she had quilted a little quilt for her newborn grandson (1 week old tomorrow) and painted a clock to match the quilt but didn't have numbers on it and thought it was too confusing to place them so I gave her suggestions on how to and she sat painting and chatting, enjoying while I also played on a project that I had no idea I was going to start...about 3 or 4 more hours and it will be 'fini'..
The clock that Marg did was to be very transparent to match the quilt..she is 78 and enjoys painting but forgets easily..she was however thrilled at her finished project...
happy birthday tubby
Betty, nice quilt and clock...I want to come over for painting lessons!! you are so awesome!!
nice glass too !!!!
Happy Birthday, Tubby!
Betty, your friend did a wonderful job at her age! It's beautiful, I couldn't do that good! Wish I could paint like that!
Bev, I am so sorry I missed your birthday yesterday....I hope it was a Happy one! Birthday hugs!
Tubby, Happy Birthday to you, sweet man! I hope Shirley gives you lots of birthday treats. Birthday hugs to you also....
I am a bit under the weather...nothing serious...I ate WAY too many pickles. Good grief!
Debbie
