Now Tubby - I have left you alone!!!! For now!!Heehee
Betty you could always come to the place near me where Bernie went. It's only 5 miles from me.. I have no idea what it is like, you'd have to ask them. But from there, there is here!!!! And here would welcome you with open arms!!!!!
Finished putting my SILs afghan together for her. Now she needs to crochet the edging on it, It came out lovely I think.
LK I'm going to put something together for you with some pictures on how I join my squares. Problably not until tomorrow when it is quiet here.

That would be nice Barb, thanks.
Love those colors together! Very nice!

Tubby, what makes yout hink we are ganging up on you? You know we miss you when you don't post for a few days!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb, just love those colors put together...drats should have picked those for the boys..ahhh perhaps there is still time...yep, might be the place to go, they absolutely loved it..

How are you feeling today LindaKay?

Drats, got another call from my mom...if I wasn't depressed I'll end up depressed...wow, so much going on in her world..she tells me it's up to Jim to tell the neighbors no more friendship with her and that they are not welcome in the cottage...I say, no, if that's how she feels it's up to her to tell them..as for Jim he can decide what he wants to do..

Told her to stay away from the cottage for awhile...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Betty, I am doing good today, Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your Mom being depressed. Sounds like she is ready to get out for a little vacation?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hoping LindaKay it will do her good to get away..should have booked a few extra days..she says she's coming up either Fri. aft. or will come over on Saturday to bring me bedding, pictures etc. that I can drop off at Rosewood Shelter..her leg is bothering her terribly because of her fall Easter weekend, told her off to the hospital and get it checked, she didn't go and really should have when it happened, guess with not being well everything is overwhelming to her..says I'm the only person who will listen or offer comments..yikes, trying to be very diplomatic and so hoping I can continue in same manner over the next while...

Glad you are feeling better though..meds must be working..

Waiting to get a text from Kyle, he send me a text this morning at 9:30 saying he was in Collingwood Hospital, about 1 1/2 hrs. from our house waiting to have the wires taken from his finger..he's a trooper he'll be fine...

Tubby this ones for you...

On a bitterly cold winter's morning a husband and wife were listening to the radio during breakfast. They hear the announcer say, "we are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even numbered side of the street, so the snowplows can get through.'

So the good wife went out and moved her car.

A week later while they were eating breakfast again, the radio announcer said, 'we are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd numbered side of the street, so the snowplows can get through."

he good wife went out and moved her car again.

The next week they are again having breakfast, when the radio announcer says, "we are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park....." then the elctric power went out. The good wife was very upset and with a worried look on her face she said, "I don't know what to do...which side of the street do I need to park on so the snowplows can get through?

Then with love and understanding in his voice that all men who are married exhibit, the husband replied, "why don't you just leave the car in the garage this time"

Mom just called, she went to Dr.'s and they said it was septic adema, badly infected, washed it/gave her meds and said to watch it carefully..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh goodness Betty, glad she went to the Dr. Maybe she will start to feel etter, once her leg heals!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I can only hope...

So much illness amongst family and friends that it's overwhelming!

It's 52 outside, warm for this time of year for us...think when I get home tonight I'll take a few photo's for you all, walking the gardens always has a calming effect..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nothing like walking through the garden. I think that is a place for all of us to get away and relax!
Will be waiting for your pictures.
My Moms favorite song was, I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses! So comforting.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - hahahaha loved the joke "with all the love and understanding......."
hahahaha

Say, maybe you're right........ people will jump to buy with the mortgage rates low. I know we're locked in at 4.19%, so that's good!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sure am wishing you luck Susan...

Sounds like a wonderful song LindaKay..what is the name of the song?

Bernie made me a cd tape of rock/roll songs and country and western, been driving the back roads to and from work playing them, as soon as Johnny Cash's 'I walk the line' come on I think of my dad..when I was but a tot he'd play guitar and we'd sing that song..funny how some songs bring back memories...

My grandmother's was 'send me the pillow that you dream on, so darling I can dream on it to'...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, you can hear it here.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, that is so strange. My dear Mom loved that song, and we played that at her funeral. Elvis version of course! And "Send me the Pillow" is right here on my Compter stand...Dean Martin version.

Hubby is the Johnny Cash fan....I am burned out...mostly cause DH "thinks" he can sing. Lord help my ears.

Praying for your dear Mom....and Kyle!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It was palyed at my Moms funeral also. Almost 4 years ago now!

Victoria Harbour, ON

OK LindaKay, you made me cry..that is exactly the song I thought it was...how lovely...of course having Elvis sing it made it just that much better...

Debbie, don't let Paul hear you say that..lol..funny what memories these songs bring back..wish we all lived closer we could have a bonfire and have a sing a long..

Thank you both for sharing...

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm not at a funeral and it's got me crying...

At lunch I bought a bunch of seed pellets so tonight might go through my seeds and start a few..I don't do well with them but surely if I keep trying I'm bound to get a few plants out of them..they grow but then they become leggy and I plant them outside and it's a bit too early..let's see what happens this year...

Gardens don't look the best without all the beautiful flowers but I am thrilled with the growth that is here so early April..

Took a few photo's to share

Won't be but a month or so and you'll hardly know there is a pond in the yard except for the sound of water

Yet another area in the back yard...should buy an artificial hanger for the big picture frame until I can put a real one out..it's calling for a plant...

Lost 3 of the front cedar trees..don't think I'll replace them with cedars...find something else I will...

Time for din/din, bath and maybe a night of relaxation..

I'll drop in before bed...

Hello To All;

I've Read everyone's posts... Tubby - glad to see you on here.... My red Hardy Hibiscus seeds you sent me are just now poking their little heads above the ground in the pot I planted them in....

My Tropical Hibiscus.... Got the "wake up spray" and "fertilizer" I ordered in today... I made sure to use it all... We'll see how it works.... DH is skeptical... so We're playing that game of me telling him... "tomorrow you'll have hibiscus blooms...just you see!"....

Hugs to all,
Mary

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Went MIA yesterday and will today too, busy busy busy but I'm lovin being the only one working on this, makes me think I Can Dooo It by myself! Yay!!

Bev big big hugs to you, hopefully Scotty will calm down and realize what is going on. With Dave I just have to tell him how it is, and that is the end of it, period.

I just planted the hibiscus seeds the other day so their not coming up yet, should be in another week or so.

Love the cat, Tiga bonks things so hard I'm surprised she doesn't have brain damage. Then again she might, she fell off of my large double sink vanity twice this morning, and she did not land on her feet either time!

I've got to dig in here, see ya'll later!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy don't you feel great when given a task, your total responsibility and you do well at it..am sure it may encourage them to use your potential for higher things..

Are you giving Tiga catnip..Missy was acting strangely for some time then I realized I'd been purchasing those little bags of catnip at the vets and think she was sniffing just a wee bit too much..lol

This morning I took out a tray and placed 40 seed pellets in and added water, tonight I'll add seeds..did purchase a few boxes of zip lock back, will start some seeds in them as well..boys room gets lots of sun, usually I put the bags on the bed and let the sunshine do it's thing..won't do too many as I do not want to waste all my good seeds..

My hydrangea shrubs are coming along fine..forynthia already in bloom, wouldn't doubt another week or so they'll be done...sad because they look lovely..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Tiga doesn't pay any mind to catnip, she's into Nut Grass. In CA I had a Golden Delicious apple tree in the back yard that she would try to climb, she'd fall out of the tree every time. I used to have an old boat too, she fell off of the back of that once and it had an inboard engine so there was ample room for her to walk across, she fell right on her butt that time. Just a clutsy cat.

I have more iris starting to bloom, these ones are yellow!! I was hoping for yellow so I can put the purple with the yellow after they all die out.

Baton Rouge, LA

Betty - Your Hydrangea lasted through the winter? I killed mine !

Dad had brought it to me... so MIL thinks she can take one for me from hers...

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

They're very easy to root. Just lay down a limb and put a brick on it and where it touches the ground, it'll form roots!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I do still exist....life has just been getting in the way lately.....

Hope Scotty will listen to reason.... (Tubby cover your ears!) men can be so stubborn and unreasonable at times!

Loved the Snow Plow Story!!!

Well my old car is gone!!! I donated it to the Paralyzed Veterans of America....they called to say they would be here to pick it up in about ten minutes...at 7 AM!!! Did I ever happen to mention that I am NOT a morning person??? But at least mother will be happy now...I can move the van closer to the house and she will be able to see what is going on in the neighborhood!! Wouldn't want to miss anything you know!

Going to be one of those days....Laura needs to be at the Dentist at ten, we have a Church Lunch at Applebys's at eleven thirty....looks like I will be running all day today...better take my crochet with me. In the meantime I think I better get in and get my hair washed and get dressed.

Have a great day everyone.

Linda Kay

Its been trying all day...................
I took my wheel chair out to try and scare it away............
It didn't work....................

Tubby..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Maybe you need to have a little music and try again, like a rain dance?
We have had so much rain here, it is starting to fill the rio grande. They have flood warnings out, for those that live close to it!

Lyndonville, NY

Tubby, I need your advice,

I have my Hibiscus seeds read....should I start them on a damp towel first....and then plant after they start to sprout....or should I put them straight into a pot??

Betty, where are you? Whats up?

I am antsy big time....so much going on, and I feel like I have hit a brick wall. I think everything over the last months has caught up...and I am having a mini meltdown! Good grief....do not use the menopausal word...or you will put me over the edge!

Sunny and 70 here!

Debbie

Hope everything is okay - we miss you Betty.
I woke up to SNOW this morning!!!!! I could have cried. I know it is still unofficially winter here but I was so hoping we were done with this stuff. My forsythia was yellow yesterday for heaven's sake. And now I can't see my white quince anymore. My daylillies are only about 4 inches tall but they were green too!!!! It won't last - I hope....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my gosh! Hard to believe you have snow! Hope it melts quickly!

Betty, did you take off early for vacation, and not tell us? Do hope your OK!

Morning Tubby and Shirley!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, here I am, lordy it's been a hectic 2 days..where do I start...

Yesterday morning I was on top of things, thought I'd come in early and just relax, made a right hand turn on the corner where my office is but 3 driveways down, all of a sudden a car with 2 occupants coming the opposite direction making a left hand turn came within inches of smashing into me, wow, frightened the beejeebers out of me, on 2 wheels almost hit the bus on the other side of me and within seconds there were 2 police cruisers, high speed chase, one on the sidewalk other side of the bus and one within inches of me..another yikes..behind those police cars were 3 others..about a minute or so I hear a bang...
they ran into roadblock which was 2 cruisers...they've been charged re weapons, drugs and the chase..luckily at that time of morning no one was injured...

Got lots done throughout the day, even had time for a few movies and crafts..lol..checked in a few times but seemed there was only me so thought I'd give you all a break from my daily pondering...

Went out for lunch yesterday with friends then last night Diane picked me up from work, we went to the Garden Gallery, out for supper and then to painting class..weather was gorgeous and I really didn't want to go BUT you cannot not do things with friends because it's more convenient to play at home...never got in until 11:30pm..late by my standards..

Victoria Harbour, ON

This morning was up early, got all my chores done, Cathy had dropped in to let Sailor out last night, she had also cleaned washroom and dusted so didn't leave me anything to do..I get a kick out of her, she's such a clutzz sometimes..I thought with extra time I should water all my plants, just bought a beautiful one, could be put out after frost warnings end, perrenial, can't for the life of me remember it's name, anyway, watered everything but could not find it, then I remembered a few nights ago when I was in the back bedroom there was dirt all over, bet the kitties were into it and she threw away the pot..will have to ask so I don't go on a plant scavenger hunt..lol...

Still mega time so walked my gardens, omg my hops were breaking ground on Monday, this morning they are over 2' tall, had to vine them into the arbor..talk about growing...on the other 2 arbors I thought I'd put hops because of their quick growing and hide all ability for the secret garden so off to Walmart here in Barrie..raining so heavily that I had second thoughts of going into their outdoor gardening area to see if they had some...just as you go outside there is an overhand of about 6' so just kind of looked at lawn furniture (because I need a wicker set for the gazebo) didn't go out into the rain, decided it was time to get to work..tried to open the glass electronic doors and they wouldn't open..tried banging to get someone's attention, no go..finally a few of the workers were up a few aisles and I banged the door, they must have thought I was just getting ready to come through them, paid no attention to me...drats..so I tried to pry them open, started to open so I put my right hand inside to push and all of a sudden bang, it closed right on my 3 fingers which are now swollen and hurting to beat the dickens..

Wow, accident prone I am, comes in 2 so let's see what the 3rd will be...

Now for you all, going to go back and read ...

Back in a few moments...
