S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Usually go out Sat night but between the Masters and baseball, stayed home and made spaghetti and meatballs.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Read that Tiger already went back on his promised and let loose some profanity.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Typical.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Randy and I went to a bowling fundraiser for autism my friend holds every year ... no good dinner last night.. just FF & mozzarella sticks.. we were too busy running around yesterday to grab some good food

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

some of my frozen chicken jumblia... didn't have yellow rice.. so I made white and threw in a bunch of spices.... LOL

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I'm having a bowlofcereal. I'm not feeling too well, not sure if it is a cold or allergies. Thanks for sharing that Jen, I am now informed and will beware of imported seafood!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I never buy supermarket seafood, or frozen seafood for that matter.
(actually I prefer to catch my own if possible. lol!)

Corned beef w/ white rice, light Italian salad on the side.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Would love to catch my own seafood for dinner.

Fried scallops (how am I going to catch them)? coleslaw and fries.

How you going to catch any seafood - crab legs, lobsters etc? Shrimp you can if your in Florida.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

good crabbin at the jersey shore... was fun when I was a kid.. until my uncle cooked them

Meaning? Not good or you were crushed

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

sickened when I heard them ... what I thought in my mind... screaming ... GROSS

I love lobster - I cant put them in the pot. The lobster is not actually screaming its air.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I know that now... but as a kid... the poor things were screaming... no wonder I don't eat seafood

If its dead I will cook it.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I find it really cruel that they are cooked alive.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

spoken like a seafood hater!

Fresh is BEST!

i salivate when i hear those screams and think get ready, melt the butter :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sadist!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah at least I can't see the calf locked in the closet for my veal

:)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I hope that's all it's for...^_^

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

hehe

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i love veal:)

shell fish can only be eaten fresh - i usually get a dozen cohogs to go with the lobster (clams are too small) - they do NOT like you to open their shell - they are the appetizer - only do this one or two times a year - my wife who does not like seafood and is usually out of the house and left me with orders to clean and fumigate before she returns - still haven't figured that out yet:)

With butter. Lotsa butter.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Fresh as in raw?
The worst thing I ever had in my mouth was a raw clam.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm with your wife!

A slimey oyster is hard to put the 1st bite into, but then goes down smooth.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I used to catch lobsters w/ a rod & reel in LI sound up until the mid 80's, then all of a sudden there was a sharp decline in their numbers, lots of lobster fishermen went out of business because of it. I no longer fish for lobsters, too cold and not enough close to shore to justify it anymore, (Dec best time). - Never went 'bug' hunting while I lived in FL, even though I'm a licensed scuba diver it never appealed to me, I'd rather just 'sight-see', (lol)...

Fried Porgy (fish) tonight w/ french fries
DW gets fettuccine Alfredo w/ tuna fish

Baked brie, french bread & romaine salad for both of us on the side.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

a lean cuisine for me

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

DH took me out to "The Ground Round", he had orange salmon(yum!) and I had finger-licking ribs! Mashed potatoes w/cheddar cheese and smoked applewood bacon on top and a garden salad.
I decided if I couldn't get my hands dirty outside....I might as well dirty them inside.^_^

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I don't think we have ground round around here anymore

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Ours went away too. Made flounder, lovingly dipped in panko crumbs, then baked with a wine, lemon, butter mixture. I could have used more butter, but I thought 4 tbsps was enough. Of course I should have realized that 4 was not enough for 1 and 1/2 pounds of flounder. Who buys that much fish for 2 people??? Dexter and Casey loved clean up duty tonight. The cat would have loved it even more, but that character had sneaked out the doggie door. Silly kitty!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I love panko ... what a wonderful thing to use... compared to plain ole breadcrumbs that we grew up with... I always use it when I make chicken cordon bleu... or home made mac & cheese .. put a little butter mixed in and use it for a topping.. yummy!!!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Panko is great. What is it? The real trick that I just learned tonight is to bread it and then stick it in the fridge for a half hour or so until cooking. Then the breading actually sticks to the fish or chicken and doesn't get soggy. It was an Ahh Ha! moment tonight :)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

with any breading that's a good idea to do.. even just 10 mins on the counter will work.. love it love it!!!
