One more Cedar Waxwing, hanging out in Medina Co., Texas.
Daily Pics vol. 300
LindaTX8 - thanks for starting the new thread. I've had some Waxwings, but haven't seen one now in a while.

Linda, Beautiful shot of the Waxwing!
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Great job on the last thread everyone!
Linda, Talked to my dau in TX yesterday and she said there are so many waxwings hanging out and roosting outside the Ballpark in Frisco that people are complaining. They even had a piece on the Dallas news. Hard to imagine folks complaining about having too many waxwings. I told her not to worry that they will soon devour their food source and move on.
We have rented a cabin on the Frio River in Uvalde County for week after next. Lots of birds there this time of year. We hope to get some Golden-cheeked Warblers and BC Vireos. I've seen the vireos, but wasn't keeping a list at the time.
Took a walk around Lake Thunderbird yesterday and found my roadrunner again. He's getting predictable. I'll upload several photos on Picasa and post a link.
For now here is a gobbler from yesterday. It's getting that time of year. I made some soft hen yelps and he let loose a mighty gobble.

Wow check out how many Swallow species they saw in Cape May yesterday!

Beautiful Lily!!
Nice pictures nanny! Love the Red-bellied!
Great photos on that last thread. Great start for this one Linda, thanks. Love the waxwings.
Red, sounds like you'll have a great time at that cabin. Hope you find your birds.
Lily, great job with the warbler and bb.
Nanny great job with the robins and wp. Sorry you had to put that feeder away.
This Acorn Woodpecker was taking a break from working in the nest.
Linda... Great start to another thread. Wow! 300! I love photos of Waxwings, since I have yet to see one of my own! *sigh*
reddirtretiree... great shot of the turkey!
Nanny... I like the shot of the woodpecker on the peanut feeder... is that a red-bellied?
Duc... I love the second shot of the downy on the tree buds!
Edited to add that I just went back and looked at the Duc's photo of the acorn WP on the tree! That is excellent!

reddirtretiree, I bet that's a nice area by that river. I'd love to live by a river or lake...you get to see different stuff with the water nearby. But at least I can easily go to nearby Lakehills, where the two kinds of swallows are in spring. I read that they prefer some water nearby so they can make their nests with mud.
Red, Hope you see lots of new birds by the river!
Duc, Great shots! Love the Acorn Woodpecker, Downy and White-crowned Sparrow!
Mrs Ed, Beautiful shots of the Purple Finch and Song Sparrow!
Thanks for the new thread Linda...I wish I could see those Waxwings more often. I guess I would have to plant tons of their kind of trees for that to happen.
Nice shots on this thread so far...way to go!!
Wild_Rose, Yes the WP in my shot is a Red-bellied.
I Okay...now where are MY Purple Finch at????
I just had to come and post this real quick before I shut down for the night. I got this pic of 2 male Red-winged Blackbirds this afternoon. AND believe it or not I had a third one show up! Now where are the girls I wonder????? :)
Wow your up late GP! Love the male Red-bellied wooing the female. The Bunting shot is a good catch with the one yelling!
Nice one Mrs Ed! They are doing the same here.
Red, Beautiful Daddy blue you have there!
Good one nanny! I'm sure the girls will be there soon.
We are having a really good year for waxwings in Texas. Not sure what has happened that makes this year so good, but I am loving it! The only time I'd ever seen them before was when I saw a group in a tree at sunset for a few minutes about 2 or 3 years ago. This year I have been seeing them almost every day sunrise to sunset for the last 3 weeks! My sister in Austin says they are up there too. YAY!!!
The yellow rumped warblers and robin's are still here, which I thought was odd because I usually only see them in winter and they are gone by early March.
I am already seeing lots of hummingbirds and swallows (or swifts, can't tell). Last year I didn't see any hummers till mid April, and the Swallows/swifts don't come till late April/May usually. What is going on I wonder?
reddirtretiree - Nice gobbler. Here in Ga, turkey season is on. AND that is a great pic of the "piggy" daddy BB.
Lily_love - I like the pic of the Yellow-crowned Warbler. Is it known by another name? There's no Yellow-crowned Warbler in my Kaufman book, only Y-rumped and Y-throated.
nanny_56 - that R-b Woodpecker must go through some real contortions to get a peanut from your neat looking peanut feeder. AND I had some R-w Blackbirds, male and female, a little while ago, but haven't seen any lately
ducbucln - What a cool looking bird, that Acorn Woodpecker.
Mrs_Ed - I've been on the lookout for a Purple Finch, male or female, since I started birding last year. No luck, yet. You took some real good pics. AND what kind of "curious" bird is that?
gardenpom - what a great shot of your Bunting feeder with Buntings.
