What have you ordered 2010 #5
JoAnn, My aunt used to live on Lake Seneca in SC, funny!
Those look good to me too. Very nice selection JoAnn.
Jo, you must have zillions of perennials! Too much work for me. Deadheading, cutting back, cleaning up...
Love the Iris Ge!
I live in the "Finger Lakes " region of NYState. One of the fingerlakes is Seneca. There was a huge nation of Irequoit Indians here in the beginning. The Senecas were one tribe.Lots of lore here.
I have ordered 11 new roses - and a whole bunch of new gladiolas - I have no idea where I am putting these . . . .
Hi Michaela!! What roses did you get??
can't imagine all the work with those roses
Here are the roses I ordered: HOT COCOA (for my grandson - my daughter picked it)
ZEPHIRINE DROUHIN DISTANT THUNDER: HAPPY CHILD
NEPTUNE DESIREE'* TAMORA* ENGLISH MISS JUDY GARLAND AMERICA* COURAGEOUS WHITE DAWN RECONCILIATION ALEC'S RED (For Alex, our new pom)
TYPHOO TEA (For Dear Son-in-law)
YIKES - that's 15! I'm doomed - where will I put them all???? DH will have to dig another garden for me - that won't make him happy . . . . maybe I can put some in pots!
Nice selection!!!!!
Thanks Pixie!
Nice bunch of roses. I am sure you will find a good spot them. If all else fails kill some grass. ^_^ I got the only two I ordered this year stuck in recently so I am waiting to see how they do. They are 'Black Cherry' and 'Honey Perfume', both own root roses.
Yes - all of mine are "own root" roses from Heirloom Roses in Oregon. Every rose I have ordered from them has been spectacular - and sooooo healthy. DH trampled on Abraham Darby and snapped it in half - but it recovered and grew again from the roots. Honestly - it must have been on rose steroids!
Both of my roses I got from Heirloom last year have pulled through winter, great. I was worried about Sheila's perfume, because a nursery told me they stopped carrying them because they didn't prove hardy. That's why it was important to me to get an own-root. Hot Cocoa is a beauty!
Yeah - I had a chance to get Hot Cocoa at an end-of-season sale from Parks Seeds - but as it is for my grandson, I resisted. Instead I bought 6 Showbiz roses and one Tuscan Sun. Only three have survived. And when the roses first came, Parks sent only 1 showbiz - I had to call to get the rest. So three Showbiz survived - the rest are caput. And they developed really bad aphids over the winter. I don't think I will order roses from them again . . .
received my clems yesterday - need to get them in the ground today - while opening the bag one was not wrapped tightly and fell out of the newspaper it was wrapped in - should be ok, still moist and still in the plastic bag they were in.
I got my second set too.
Received an e-mail that my caldiums4less order is on it's way.
woo hoo
Me too. It seems early compared to previous years. I didn't really want them this early.
I cant plant mine until the end of May.I got mine early last year and kept them in the garage where it was cool.
Received e-mail from Bluestone the order from them just shipped also.
I am waiting for Bluestone order too, won't be long now.
