Bill that little patio spot is just lovely, so peaceful and as usual neat as a pin.
What have you ordered 2010 #5
I think Bill would have a heart attack if he ever came here and saw our Sanford and son yard
Thanks, Bill. I like Blue Eyes better. I have a small blue spruce with an irregular shape. But I may have a spot for Monty.
Bill I am always amazed at the professional look of your garden.
That's a great area, Bill. A bubbling fountain would be nice. Get to work!
Received my simplyclems order today.
Yep me too Victor. Nice healthy little 4" potted clems. Two 'Princess Diana' and one 'Florida Sieboldii. What did you receive?
8 - 2 Hyde Hall, Niobe, Pinky, Teshio, Vino, Cezanne and Chantilly. She canceled Angelique.
I posted a bunch of pictures of my new Dafs blooming in the cottage forum. If any one would like to see them it's here.

I went to Fairweather today for one of their Open Houses. I had a $ amount in my head and only went over by a little. Here's my haul:
3 Amsonia hubrechtii
2 Caryopteris "Longwood Blue"
3 Ilex verticillata 'Winter Red'
Ilex Southern Gentleman. (I hope he is busy I want to see red berries)
2 Nandina ' Harbor Dwarf'
Baptisia Twilite 'Prairie Blues'
Rudbeckia triloba
Clethra ' Caleb'
Fothergilla 'Blue Mist'
Hakenechloa 'Beni Kaze'
Itea 'Little Henry'
Now, to figure out where to put everything. I kinda have an idea in my head. It requires expanding the front bed a bit.
Lots of good ones there, Jan! Have fun. Been planting my order from them.
Thanks.
Plant clethra where you will appreciate the scent.
I was thinking that will go near the front door.
Good choice!
Lots of pretty bulbs Meredith. Your spring beds are looking very pretty.
Jan that is a great haul of goodies and you stayed near the budget, good work.
Thank you ngam! :)
Lovely selection of Daffs Meredith!!
Thanks Pixie :) I can't wait to try more. It is so nice to see a bunch of dafs after a long winter!
Jan! I planted baptisia Prairy Blues last year. Cant wait to see it bloom.I am hoping for the wine colored flowers, they vary from one garden to another.
nice list Jan!!!... Randy and I did some damage at Lowes yesterday.. will post them later on
Allison! Did you go for the three for ten bucks deal? 3 one gallon perennials for 10 dollars?
yes got some saliva & columbines... it WAS NOT on all perennials... just select ones... they got me!!!
Were bthere astilbes?
Was there a decent collection? or mostly daisies, and rhudebeckias?
astilbes were not on the table... yes it was worth going... saliva, columbine, phlox, dianthus (had a taller one with bigger flowers that I haven't seen before.. but passed on them.. they don't grow well for me) salix willow, and a ton more that I am sure I am forgetting
What youve remembered is good enough for me.
I'm going.
I will just say sorry now... I couldn't pass up a bunch of clems that were not on sale
the saliva I bought were short ones... already blooming will have to get the tags later.. need coffee first
I just ordered a Variegated Norway Maple, been wanting it for a few years and I finally caved! LOL

Sounds like I should take a trip to Lowe's. ^_^
They are very pretty Celeste. That's kind of why I chose a Butterfly JM.
Yes, Butterfly is very pretty, almost dainty.
I've been wanting a shade tree for a picinic area im making down in the field. I want it to be in-between the house we have now and the one we are building.
That's really nice Pixie. Looks like you got your longed for tree for a nice location. I have never seen a variegated maple around here, but I bet it will make quite a statement.
Pat, there is this place in town that has 5 of them in a row, all about 15 ft. tall and they are stunning! Thats what got me drooling for one. LOL
nice celeste - i remember you taking about that tree last year.
looked at lowes the other day and felt it was pretty expensive for box store trees. during our costco run yesterday they had lots of stuff in - somehow a baby blue spruce maybe 3 ft. tall made it into the cart - $14.97 - they also had alberta spruce, rodies, bloodgood jm's, and other stuff. may go back for an albert they are big ones and even though i have a few of them i am a sucker for them.
New Norway maples now banned in MA, variegated or not. Can't there be other shade making trees? I know you are in ME, not MA.
