LOL Thank y'all! Love my sistahs and miss y'all.
Been AWOL from here for a spell. Y'all should see how much nicer my garden and house look! Got calluses across the backs of my hands on the knuckles, from weeding! Love these Atlas gloves, but they don't protect the backs of my hands with a strip of leather like the big clumsy work gloves do.
Don't know if I mentioned it, but they found out my bod had developed antibodies to my own as well as my supplimental thyroid hormones. Treatment is triple the daily dose of iodine and potassium. I've got more energy, so I'm working HARD.
Two more Sundays and I'll have ENCIS here to see the irises. Not certain, but I may have personally invited half of Raleigh to see the irises, too!
Happy birthday ladies. Hope it's the best ever for both of you....
Thanks and Happy Birthday, Bonnie!
Good Morning
Happy Birthday, Cookie
Happy Birthday, Bonnie
I've got a few Iris in bloom, but there are so many weeds all around them it's a mess right now. Maybe this weekend I'll be able to get out there. Although our weather calls for rain the next few days so we'll see.
Jaye, yep as soon as I have my last court date, I will be able to rebuild my credit. And hopefully it will be in good condition to remodle this house in a few years.
Happy Birthday Bonnie!!!

Thanks again one and all. and Happy Birthday right back at ya, Joyce -I thought I put that in my first post. I knew we were kindred spirits. LOL
did I ever tell y'all the story of my b'day?
on my 16th b'day, went with my birth certificate to get my driver's license. Man in the uniform says to me, "what's your birthday?"
I said, "April 11th".
He looks at me, looks at my certificate, says, "no it's not. when were you born?"
I looked at my mom sitting beside me and said, "April 11th, 1953."
He looks at me, then her, and says, "no you were not." He asks Mom "when was she born?"
She says "April 11th."
He says, "Madam, this says she was born on the 10th."
She looks frustrated for about 2 seconds and then says, "Oh, the doctor didn't sign it until a few days later. He had a golf game and left before the nurses finished writing it up. I don't think anyone ever checked it. I was a nurse in that hospital and I never checked either. I bet he didn't check what date he wrote in."
He looks at her, says, "well, you might want to have that corrected." He looks at me and says, "you were born on April 10th."
I look at her and then at him. At 16, I was a meek thing, and he was "THE man". Still, I point to her and say, "I believe her. She was there."
we never did fix it. It's only caused trouble a few times. Sometimes my medical insurance gets picky about it. But now that I've had children, I know for certain. You never forget not only the date, but also the minute, the hour, the day of the week and the weather outside when you give birth! I even remember what I was doing when I thought they were coming - in all three births, that was SLEEPING. darn pesky kids. So now I really believe Mom all the more.
years later, my son was due on April 10th. But he was in a hurry and came April 2nd, darn kid woke me up on April Fool's day a few minutes till midnight before the 2nd just kicking to get out. Had to get that last April Fool's prank in, and he's been mischievious ever since.
So now we celebrate whichever day is most convenient. Sometimes I get two b'days out of it!
Oh Bon, that is a story, and I do believe your Mom too! SHE should know!
hahahaha Bonnie - too funny. I guess your Mom Would Know!
Geesh...I only get one birthday... :o(
You can have another one in June. LOL
LOL! How about if we just have a shower for Stacey instead?
Oh I thought it could be 2 fold. LOL
LOL same thing happened with my dad. My gramma said the doctor was drunk when my dad was born. She said he was born on Dec 29th but doc put down Dec 28th so we always celebrated on the 29th.
If you are going to give Stacey a baby shower at your place Joyce, I would like to sned some stuff to you for her is that ok?
Cindy, it would be better if you give it in person!
Nice stories there of wrong b'day dates. At least they get the gender right!
Jaye, I will not be able to make it. :( My monies ae very tight at the moment. Most of the swaps I'm in are all homemade things. It's the best I can do for now.
Taylor is still sick, ran another fever last night. She has homework to do but will let her daddy help her with that. Geeze I don't remember having to do the things she has to do. 2nd grade and she has to write a story about a boy or girl with a pet. They stroy has to be over a period od five days, and she has to draw pictures!!!
Poor Taylor.
At least she has a very supportive family that proves how much she's loved.
5 days is too long!!! My memory isn't even that long!!! Oh well, she can write.. day one.. snowed in.. they slept.. day two.. snowed in.. slept again..
Well the doctor at Hospice put down the wrong date on Ross' death certificate. Geez you would think they would know what they were doing.
I missed birthdays!!!
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY BONNIE AND COOKIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so sorry I missed them, was building a gate for the veggie garden and weeding and all other kids of things outside and never did make it to the computer all weekend! AAGGHH!!!
Yes, let me know as well when her bb shower will be, I'd like to send something small as well. Is she registered anywhere?
Not all mothers remember the date their children were born. When my third child (a boy) was getting ready for his 1st birthday I planned a party for March 25. My mother questioned that, said she thought he was born on March 29. I strongly disagreed and she said I should know. When he was ready for school we had to take his birth certificate in with us. When I got it out, sure enough, he birth date WAS March 29. We had celebrated his birthday on the wrong day for the first 5 years. To this day I still have to check the calendar to see when his birthday is.
Oh, well, I know it is in late March sometime. LOL
I have a better one than just being a day off..........my momma got a copy of her B.Cert. when she was older and got to looking and it said she was born in 1943 and actually she was born in 1944.Pappy told her just let it go ,cause she will be able to get SS one year earlier.....so she did.
OK ladies, my mom just came and told me that she felt a draft of cold air go across her body. Then she said the other night she saw a dark shadow like move across the room.
My dad died in her bedroom 12 years ago. Right after he died, mom said she had a dream where dad had stuck his head around the door and said"Joy I'm leaving now" he was standing on the other side of the front door. Then off and on we could smell sulfur from a lite match. Dad smoked and always used matches. We have not smelt, felt or heard anything in years. I'm just a little useasy here. I'm thinking it is getting close to time for my mom to go and dad has come back for her. She has been really tired a lot lately.
Am I crazy to think this?
I don't think your crazy to think that at all. We neverknow when out time will be to leave this world, but there have been lots of studies done, and some do see, hear, and smell things, that others don't.
Maybe have her see her Dr, if she is really tired, maybe she needs some vitamins or something. And to make sure she is OK! rule out any possible problems coming.
And make sure you enjoy every moment you can with her. How old is your Mom?
She will be 83 June 20th.
She takes vitimins, eats good, and see her doctor on a regular basis.
I agree! We never know when we are visited by others and are to blind to see.My grandmother talked to her deceased sister and ny grandfather before she died. I think it's wonderful that we can have "connections"!
morning ladies,
i got a text from judy's son there boarding the ship now
off to see some of the greek islands.
Judy, hope your all having a great time!
Morning!
Thanks for the update Liz.! Can't wait to see pics of the trips!
No, you're not crazy Cindy.
In our culture, "visitors" tend to visit the ones that they will miss most or haven't seen in a long time.
I had two incidents of 'visitors'.
One was my grandad who came to tell me goodbye, standing at the foot of my bed. I wasn't scared.. After I nodded my head, he just dissipated!
The other was my dad, one week after he passed away.
I accepted 'visitors' as my family is still in Singapore and anything happened to them, it's too far for me to take a trip there.
Like LK said, sometime our memories will evoke familiar scents like tobacco smoke.
And I dream of the departed too. My latest one was of Ali (my oldest furbaby that died a week before Thanksgiving).
In it, he was happily scooting along up a hill. I called him, and he turned around, wagged his little tail and continued to walk up the hill.
Then I told him.. "Bye Ali.. mama let you go."
Woke up after saying that.
We can't explain the supernaturals. I'll know the answers when I'm with Him.
But I think it's God's way to relieve our deep sorrows and assure us that our loved ones are okay.
Jaye, that is very well said!
Stacey's shower will be on the 26th of June, so whomever would like to send her gifts here, I will be glad to stash them until it's time.
Thanks Cookie--I better get crackin'!!!!!
Thanks Cookie,
Yes, I often dream of my hubby. In most of the dreams I ask him "Where have you been?". My daughter said that she has had dreams of him also.
A short time after my grandmother died, I clearly heard her call my name. Like Jaye, I also heard my doggie's tags jingling after he was killed.
My dad, mom and late husband have all been around me..I could smell Glen's favorite cologne when I went into the office and there was nothing there that had the scent on it..I know cause I looked everywhere. My dad loved to turn on the lights right after he passed away and my mom did it one time after she passed.
All of them have come to visit in dreams also..what a comfort and yet bittersweet..
I went MIA yesterday and am going to today also, I've a lot of work to do and I'm lovin it!
Cindy you're not crazy at all. I've had dreams like that too.
Well I don't have anything to talk about, or at least if I do I don't remember what it was LOL So I'm going to dig into my work here. Oh! Look at the pics!

Hello everyone thinking of you all.
many blessings.. happiness enjoy everey day.
Well Taylor is doing good, no fever so far. She says her ankles don't hurt. Thank the Lord, she is on the mend.
PTL, Taylor's on the mend!! She must be drinking lots of juice to boost her immune system too?
Crissy, are you getting one of the Rotties? Enjoy your busyness at work gal!
Hi there Twyla. Days getting any better? Or is he still in the house?
You're right Chris, it brings comfort to the ones left behind when we can smell or see something tangible that says they are there.
Audrey, did you get your sewing machine back?
It's gonna be an indoors day for me today. Got blocks to finish and dreading that compulsory clean the INSIDE of the stove day! Not that I bake all the time!!
