It's gonna cost me $59.95 just to clean, adjust, and oil my machine! I could buy another one for a little more than that, but of course it wouldn't be as good as this one! I'm taking it to Union City Fri. and I have no idea where the store is, but I'll find it! She did tell me how to get there, but I'll google Map Quest and find directions.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Visit with friends...
Thunder, absolutely love that print..you know, sometimes it's worth walking away from a project, relax and come back to it...know we tend to want to complete it and then screw up and have to start all over again..way to go..hugs to hubby for suggesting it...sounds like there were great deals at Joann's....I couldn't see me working in a fabric or craft place, am sure they'd have my paycheck to cover my purchases each payday...
Doing the happy dance, can you hear the music I'm dancing to??? Paul's in a great mood today so I started to think, one thing he hates is people taking Friday's off and yet he often tells us to go home at 1:00pm (his choice though), when booking days off he prefers we book an entire week as holidays, not a day here and a day there...well an idea came to me as I want to go with Mom and Jim (SF) on April 23rd. to Buffalo and seeing as he gave me a Friday off a few weeks ago to go it would be a tough sell...so I had a brain wave...
Want to hear? lol
OK, when we worked in the city we had cleaners, here we just do our own area..with people coming in and out, there has been a lot of salt on the rugs and now its sand...NOBODY has done an all and out cleaning of the office...I've a rug cleaner, can you guess where this is going??? yep, said 'want to make a deal Paul' he looked at me confused and said 'what?'...said 'look around, doesn't this office need a good cleaning? - can't do rugs or work when people are in and out - will trade you hour for hour..I'll clean either one night or one weekend before the 23rd. and whatever hours I bank up I'll trade you for taking them on the Friday..' he said 'that's a deal'...problem solved..con artist aren't I?????
Now I'm trying to figure out how to get to Cookstown, pick up a die, matt, fixative flannel, flannel with hockey theme and be back in 1 hr....hmmmm
Susan, what a positive attitude...glad you are taking it in your stride..
Oh Judy, I always get a kick out of your posts..can hear my heart beating quicker as you tell me about your day..an eagle..good omen right? You are right, thank goodness the plumbing difficulties happened while you were home...what a mess that would have been..
As for the bonfire...had it on Saturday but with all the cleaning of front gardens there is as much to burn again..this afternoon I'll call the municipality to see if I need a burning permit..better take precautions....
Ohhh home movies Judy, oh you will love sightseeing, I'm so excited for you and Steve...you enjoy and do not worry about the children (rather young adults) am sure they'll do well...you all so enjoy the cottage, too bad you don't get more time to enjoy...how's skittles? bet you'll be missed..
How's our Liz, busy as usual?
Lunch time..
Drats, thought I'd call Cookstown and get them to put aside the matt and die I want, no can do, they don't have them in stock..don't understand how they sell the unit and have no stock..says she has NO idea when they will get any, guess I'd best go on-line with accuquilt and order..that screwed up my plans for lunch so now have to find an alternative plan...
Betty, the market is open year round. It is NOT in the best section of towns but, an experience to go.
I don't really know exactly what you could purchase and take home as 95% of everything is food. Full of meat markets, bakeries, homemade horseradish, chocolate galore. It is open year round. Easter is just their BIG season and they cater mostly to Polish/Ukranian/Italian foods I have seen.
Also, they have these eggs for sale. Not sure if they are there year round or not...but have them out. THese are wooden eggs, each color represents something different (Health, wealth, money, etc.)
They used to have some crafts for sale there, but not so much anymore.
Here is the link http://broadwaymarket.org/
HEre are the eggs....
Debbie, that looks like a wonderful place to visit, but could get into trouble also! And that food sounds scrumptious!
What a fun place to visit. and oh so dangerous!!!!
Ooooh, look at those decorative eggs...omg, yes I could get into trouble although I'd have to eat everything because I can't take food across border..thanks for sharing...is it near the Casino??? could drop mom off and go walk the market...everything looks so tempting...
No, that is not near the casino. Trying to think what is nearby....as I said it is NOT in the best neighborhoods. I wouldn't go without my hubby most likely....we had to park on the garage roof, and coming down the stairs...no lighting, discarded tires and wires and bags of trash. If you can get main floor parking not as bad, but still driving through rough areas.
Betty...remember the gas station were we stopped for the flat? Lots of those areas around also! LOL
Some of the flowers for sale
Betty will find a way to make those eggs, and paint them herself!
lol Audrey, likely will do a few for the table...now how did you know I'd try.....hugs to you..feeling better today? Such a hard thing you are going through...hope you have your sweetie to make things easier...
Debbie, eating an apple and choked..too funny..omg, best I not travel there alone..for everyone else, we were just about ready to meet up with our Crissy, I had a flat, and there only yards was a deserted gas station, place all but on the ground but our Debbie managed to figure out how to turn the air compressor on, have no idea why still had air in it..lol..saved the day...
Debbie, you know that little air pump I bought, well I've used it 3 times..great investment...
Debbie, we have something similar, not sure as good as yours, it's run by the Menonites (?) and is near Kitchener...is it open year round or just at certain times and only on weekends?
Tubby I got seeds today. Thank you so very much. We shall see if they do well here in NH. The pictures of yours are so beautiful, I sure do hope so. Of course I need to wait until the flooding stops and it's not raining anymore. We have had three days of pounding rain and rivers going over their banks. Thank heaven we are just high enough up the hill!!!! not to worry.
I have been lurking a bit and this is why. I finally finished getting my Boston Common quilt pieced together. I really am happy with how it is turning out.
Have a great evening everyone.
Quilter
Glad you got them.......................
Tubby
Hello All !
Debbie - sounds like a yummy place to shop ! Judy - LOL you almost had me in tears talking about being so overwhelmed with happiness... It is infectious ! I suppose so with a wonderful trip to Italy & Greece right around the corner... Make sure to take some pics...not just video with the new camera ....so you can share with us !
Audrey hit the nail on the head with Betty making the wooden Eggs herself :)
Betty - I LOVE your solution... I call that Resourceful !
Susan is always an inspiration... ☼
I'll pop back on later tonight....
Hugs,
Mary
Betty it is open year round, and run by many many many people. Everyone "owns" their own booth. I have not seen Amish or Mennonite there. We have an Amish deli here that I frequent, and when Jeanna got married...she ordered her "favors" from them. Fresh breakfast jams, decorated jars ...and those were the little table gifts. SO GOOD! There is a new "general store" run by them also, but I don't know if it is open to the public yet. We do have those markets in the summer time though.
So glad that little pump has helped out. I told DH I want one for my van...just in case!
Well Rod (the realtor) just left and he was a bit of doom and gloom LOL
I told him that HE would look after us, and that I wasn't going to stress cuz that won't sell the trailer for more $$ LOL
Thing is, a home doesn't sell for what the seller needs, it sells for what the market will take, right?
Anyway, I told Rod that I'll leave it to HIM, and that's all I can do.
Rod did suggest I take down as much in the den as I could (wall-hung bookcase, murphy-style sewing center, and other stuff) and I'm going to store 2 curio cabinets and a stereo cabinet. I'm going to pack away my collection of teacups, too. Don't want this place to look like a "granny" place (my wording).
Looks like our Open House will be April 17th.
♫♪~§usan~♪♫
Hmmm.... Well - Susan - I think those are good suggestions....
I think if "Rod The Realtor" told you that your home was awesome, great, perfect....
....and it wasn't sold quickly .....then it looks as though he's not a great saleman...
If he talks "Gloom & Doom"....then when it sells ....he looks like a Hero.....
SO I'm hoping it's "all talk" from Rod the Realtor....
Hugs,
Mary
Thank you, Mary ^_^
Morning everyone!
Hope you all had a good nights sleep, and are ready for another beautiful day!
Morning, grand day here..it's exciting, 1 more day and off for 3...I've so many plans floating in this noggin' of mine, even if I do 1 then I'll be happy...
Left home early this morning so I could stop into Canadian Tire..they had the perfect blue stripped sunbrella cushions for the little metal cafe set I got for the back bedroom deck, just had to get them..at lunch I'm off to Garden Gallery, camera in hand and want to take photo's of and measurements (if I don't get caught lol) of the flower outhouse..sooo want one..plans are to take dimensions and order the wood tomorrow so it can be delivered on Saturday..regardless if I start it this weekend I'll have what I need...sounds like a plan doesn't it?
Telephone rang last night, ooohhh couldn't find what I did with hand set so answered on the antique one, now I know why when the telephones first came out there weren't many gossipers, holding the ear piece to your ear and talking through a mouth piece is quite a challenge...who was on the telephone and ready to gab but our excited Judy..was so nice to hear her voice...I was so geared up after hearing her and Steve's plans in Europe that I almost packed my bags...lol...talk about a 2nd honeymoon...they leave Saturday and I believe Easter Sunday they will be in Venice or was it Florence??? regardless which, am sure they'll be having the time of their lives..I hadn't realized that this wasn't a tour and that she and Steve had planned the entire schedule...talk about energy..she was flying high...just wanted to reach out over the telephone wires and hug her....
Mary, resourceful? yes, one could call it that..this morning I came in and saw the windows weren't the cleanest......going to stretch my work day of office cleaning to '6' and then we could leave early Friday morning...
Debbie, omg what workmanship went into making those eggs...yes, Michael's at this time of year usually have the heavy cardboard type eggs or wooden eggs to paint...won't get any done this year but I'm thinking I'll try for next year..maybe I can get the eggs after Easter at a good price...now did you come home with any? I believe I only have 1 decorative egg and it's in china cabinet..will have to check tonight and take it out..know I've a box somewhere with Easter things, should look for it as well...
Stacey, when we did crafts, did you end up taking home a 'bunny face' to hand on a door?
before this post goes pooof think I'll press send and start another
Barb, heard on the news about how much rain Rhode Island had, many homes under 3 or 4 ft. of water..how tragic..glad you live higher than most..is it unusual for you to get this much rain..got to wonder what's going on with the weather?
LOVE the quilt, omg that's a lot of blocks to put together, beautiful..will this one be for you...the color scheme is spectacular...you wouldn't put it in your sale would you? Still on track with your table runners? How's Norm doing..
Susan, best of luck with your April open house...may there be a purchaser amongst the lookers..
Glad Rod offered a few ideas as to what would help improve the sale..
ooops off for the telephone
Thank you, Betty - we're going to make the best of our wee home.
Between taking down, patching and painting, we're gonna be Very Very busy this weekend lol
Good Morning Everyone!!
JUDY!!! How exciting, I bet you're wound up like an 8 day clock! I would be!! Jumping up and down for you! How long will you be in Europe?
LOL Betty the antique phone! I bet that is difficult talking into the wall while holding a thing up to the side of your head. Never thought about it.
I'm just waiting for Jeff to approve something for me, seems that huge project I've been working on might have been done wrong :( Lets hope not or I'm going to have to do it all over again!
Here's the link to my pics! It's my dad and Yvette's vacation here and flowers in my yard!
http://picasaweb.google.com/christinepix/20100330#
Fantastic pictures Crissy. Looks like you had a good time with your dad amd SO. I love the garden shots.
Betty-I'm not sure who all will be at Joyce's yet-I think it will be around 6-8 ladies....
No, I didn't make a bunny face; a rag quilt, 2 sets of candles, 4 sleds, 2 butterflies, 1 cat birdfeeder...I can't remember what else...
JUDY-don't forget a postcard for me too ma'am.....puuulleeaassee
Crissy - I just yelled out to DH.... "Why does Crissy in Arkansas have purple iris blooms and I don't" !?!?!?!
Envious of your beautiful flowers... I would like to grow tulips one day...
....and Can you believe I killed my creeping jenny!?!?! After Tubby worried it would be invasive.... Tubby...you don't know what a BAD gardener I am ! BUT I will get DH to help me with those lovely red hibiscus... don't want to lose those...
Susan - You are welcome! I hope I am right... ‼ It just seems to be my experience with SOME real estate agents (not all)... I know you'll get your house in tip top shape!
Judy - Sounds as if a LOT of folks will be "vacationing vicariously through you" LOL... so...when do we leave ? HA!
Betty - I'm going to try to work up some courage to do the same with my boss. Just 'put in' for the Band trip on Monday... then will 'put in ' for the Disney trip later....
Silly to work up courage for time off that is owed... but I'd like to ask for some extra time as you did later... in the year...
Hugs to all,
Mary
Stacey, knew you went home with a bundle, was almost sure an Easter Bunny was included..drats..have 3 cut out and they have no homes..lol
You'll truly enjoy your weekend with the ladies, anything other than baby shower planned?
Mary, me thinks the creeping Jenny might be taking a break..isn't it possible all the roots are underground and not yet up...
Ohhh this morning took a walk through the gardens, I'm sure if I stood long enough I'd see my pretties grow..lol..growing in leaps and bounds..
Wanted to go to Garden Gallery so bad yesterday at lunch but Suzanne wanted me to go with her, she's off today so she said I could go today..puts me a bit behind to order the wood I need for my project but I'm sure I'll get it done..
On my way home yesterday I stopped at a Garden Center and omg the building is already full of flowers and shrubs are outside..asked about the continuous flowering lilac..he said he's ordered some in, not sure when they will arrive, could be on today's truck sooo I'll stop in again on my way home..if I do it often enough surely he'll put a couple aside for me...then onto Fabricland for more flannel..forgot my list so have to go back tonight for 3 more meters..already got 40 squares done this morning..the other rag quilt for Braedon has been in the washer 4 times and still a lot of threads coming out..
Paul was suppose to be in the office today but I've a feeling he'll not as it's high temps..he leaves Sat. morning for Jamaica..I'll enjoy my own Jamaica at home for a lot less $$$$...lol
As Jeff and the boys are coming tomorrow morning think I'll include grocery shopping on my list of to do's and getting a permit for burning...
Getting antsy, although the boys take down the panels to close in the back deck I started last night and took a couple down, standing on a railing didn't seem like something I should do soooo I'll wait..better than breaking a leg or my back..getting somewhat smarter as I age...
Must call Sharon this morning, it's her birthday..only sister so I don't want to miss calling..Bernie called me at 6:30am for her number..also trying to get a time this weekend for him to have family over..my nephew who has been in the RCMP and although only 47 ready to retire decided to sign up for a term in Afghanistan..his 3rd over his years...he leaves this week so we are hoping to have a B.B.Q.
Lordy if I don't take time to sleep for the next 4 days just maybe I'll get a few of the things done that are on my list..most important..back decking winter panels down, start up the pond, set in12 more patio 24" blocks to make the patio accommodate a bigger table/chair set, perhaps have Jeff on Sat. morning take me to see if I can purchase cement legs for the bench I poured and did stained glass on...if I at least accomplish those things I'll wear a happy face...now if I could start and get done the outhouse flower display unit then I'd be doing the happy dance..lol...
We'll see, just resting might be good, most likely what my boys will tell me....now to listen would be a totally different thing..
OOOhhhh for got, cross your fingers and include a prayer please that Paul tells us to go home if not at 1:00pm then at 3:00pm..aren't I terrible...just want to go get rid of all this energy I'm harbouring....
Morning Betty, sounds like your list, never stops!
Tell Paul, that if he still has a fever, they will most likely not let him fly!
How is your GS doing? Is his hand healing?
What is RCMP? I wish him the best going to Afghanistan.
Bettty, mornin! did you get a photo of that outhouse?? I am just "dying" of curiosity!!!
and Don't you Dare be doing too much!!! it is still early in the season, it does not all have to be done in one week end.....you take care of your self....
LK, my guess is Royal Canadian Mounted Police ???
and Betty, love and blessings to him.....and yes, how is Kyle doing? ya know I have a Kyle too...2nd son...
Mary it might be the 3 year aged horse manure mixed in with the compost and Miracle Grow Bloom Buster added to it. My Creeping Jenny is 3 years old and that's what it's done so far...not much...but it's in the reddest red clay I have ever seen and I haven't put any compost w/ horse manure or bloom buster on them. I might do that this weekend too. I have a lot of work planned for this weekend, probably because I didn't get to get out there last weekend cause my dad was visiting. I hope they come back real soon, I loved having them here!
LOL Betty, reading your post made me tired!
Good Morning!!
Betty, Please Don't over due, it's still very early Spring...
Thanks you everyone!! Yep, I am flying around now, last minute, we have to buy an adapter for electric.
I do believe that is the very last thing, for now.
Today, I have to get to the post office, or at least first thing in the morning.
Yes for sure, you will all be with me...We always write a daily Journal on our trips.
I was telling Betty I may just have to create a thread!
Sure was Great to hear your voice and share the excitement Betty. LOL, have you found your phone?
Oh Stacey, yep I sure did add you to PC list!! uhh, thought I said your name too...lol, my mind is in a thousand places at once.
Thunder, Waiving hi, Ohhh, your material is so pretty. Did you say it was for the Sistah quilt? If sew, it's a marvelous match!
The block i was referring to is the couple I saw in the sew many threads...The ones you did the applique work. Which by the way is excellent!
OH, LK..Remember when you asked about my neices Shop? Today is the opening day for Second Shop. Anyway, It is a tattoo and Piercing, cothes/shoes...It's called Karma. i'll have to remember to call later and see how it went.
Barb your Quilt is so pretty! Wow, that must have taken a long time.
Debbie, what a cool store! LOL, well if you and Betty go to this store you can always take the first cornfield as an escape route.
I love those eggs! And yes, surely Our Betty can create some beauties...lol, well add that to her sitting down and resting list.
OH Mary! How exciting the Band trip is this coming Monday. Yay, i hope you will have a blast and of course the Band will be excellent. I look forward to hearing and seeing pictures when I get back!! Ow, sorry to "have" to ask, but where are you headed?? How long is the trip?
How funny, come kill my creeping something LOLOL. Please.
The weather is Beautiful today, again! It's to be 82!! So yesterday i worked in the yard all day. Big heavy sigh, i am back to sifting the Stone from the yard! I have 2 yucca plants that are currently in shaded areas, so I am going to transplant them, hopefully today.
My gardens only have a few crocus that are in bloom. But I have lots of daffs and Iris and a couple of tulips sprouting up...It's very early, but I should have lots of blooms by the time we return...
OHH...My last swap was to Meikle who is actually a fellow IL. neighbor!! Anyway I sent her a note to drop in and visit with us us here...
So waiving hello Mickey, if you are lurking, jump in and say hello!
Ok, I better get moving...Have a wonderful day
, oh keeping fingers crossed for 1:00 Betty, and Happy Birthday to Sharon.
Paul was in, gave us our pays, was in a bit of turmoil because the air company they were flying with announced yesterday that they closed their doors...because of who Paul booked with he's hoping they'll find another plane provider...omg if I were he I'd NOT be going...1st. his BIL that was going with him thought he had a heart attack (put it down to anxiety attack) then my SIL Paul's wife fell and she's black and blue and cannot use her right arm, the Fred who is also going, good friend of ours, hit a deer and totalled his vehicle, he's a bit sore but otherwise ok and NOW the plane company difficulties! Wouldn't that make you a little leary??? What is making him upset is he could go to a last minute booking site and get his flight a lot cheaper however, unless the company that booked him calls to say he is formely cancelled then he would not get a refund....so he waits...
In the meantime, I'm clipping blocks for another rag quilt, then I take out crochet, he says 'not busy' and it took me about a sec to say 'think everyone is busy getting ready for the Easter Bunny' he's a zillion things going through his mind, comes back, stands at my dest, asks for the 2nd time, 'what are you making? tell him again, don't think he heard me the 1st time...then I display my list of 'to do's' i.e. groceries, fabricland, M&M's, chocolate bunny shopping..he looks at it, says, 'that's a lot to do' reply 'yes, and with stores closed tomorrow it will be a challenge....' ooooohhhh reply, 'then you'd better leave at 3:00pm' doing happy dance..lol
LindaKay, Scott is in a special service unit with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police..normally he is one who also accompanies government officials when travelling overseas and does some work that he cannot talk about...with being so close to retirement and at such a young age I hate to think of him going but he's been talking about it for some time..I'll have to go back into my photo's and see if I can find a photo...
As for Kyle he's a trooper, getting a little annoyed that Noah is doing a lot of dirtbiking and he cannot..with Jeff coming up tomorrow morning and bringing the dirtbikes and all going out to enjoy I'm sure he'll be upset having to stay home..it's healing quite well, 2 more weeks and the wire comes out..just so happy it wasn't worse...
Thunder, have my camera, going with Suzanne yesterday put me off my schedule...was going on my lunch today but now with leaving at 3:00 and the girls on errands and Suzanne off I'll just stay in the office but will go over before heading home..I'll have photo's to post tonight for you that is unless I get picked up for taking photo's when I'm not suppose to..
Really, those 'to do' projects are work projects they are rather fun and relaxing to me...won't overwork, boys will make sure I don't....
Judy, did find the telephone, had taken a bath before you called, it was set on a towel and guess I put other towels on it..the other was under my pillow and the one downstairs, who knows? lol...hard a hard time sleeping, you got me all wound up and want to start making plans to go somewhere, where doesn't matter, just want to go...2 more days Judy....bet you'll not sleep much from now till then..wound up like a top I bet..
Welcoming you as well Mickey...doors are always open ...
Crissy must put the miracle grow pebbles on my list to buy, makes a big difference...another thing I could pick up at Home Depot on my visit..
T.J. from Rock 95 radio station just called about our ads, last year she bought a new home, no sod, picked up eco grass seeds, planted it in October and she says her lawn is sooo lush..got the seed at the Wildflower Farm in Orillia, might pick some up (not this weekend, perhaps next) and sprinkle over my grass just the strengthen it..
Debbie, we're not going to live down our hours in a cornfield maze, no way out, all dead ends..lol...are we?
