Betty-the get together in June will be at Joycet's house which is a couple hrs S of me. It will also be the first baby shower for me with all the ladies-can't wait!!

Trisha-the pussy willows started to root because they have some hormone thing that is a natural "rooter" and sometimes if you put them in the water with something else, they will cause the other plant to grow roots faster too:)

Betty - I am up 'early' for me....but not 'early' for you... LOL! I think we're ready... DH is frying and grilling fish...so not much for me to do.... MIL is bringing green salad. I'll make corn on cob, a veggie tray, rolls, and peel a bag of taters for french fries..... we did the cleaning yesterday... so not much preparation needed.

I have a LOT of pics of Line (pronounced Lina) the Norwegian Exchange student from her '08/'09 school year...so I plan to show those to her Mom... and hopefully that will help bridge the language gap... they don't speak much English and we don't speak Norwegian....

Hi all. Sorry that I haven't been on much. Scotty is back in nursing home for at least a month. The doc wants him to stay indefenatly but he wont. I am trying to get some things done here while he is gone. I go down every other day. He is making a little progress with therapy but when he gets home it stops.so oh well. Try to get back on soon. Well, I have a sad story to tell you. Fri. IO found out that my only sibling, my suster, died on Sat. and was buried on Wed. Her daughter couldn't get in touch with ANY of us. My exhusband has lived in the same spot all his life, and she knew he would know where some of us were! I'm so mad and hurt, besides the grief. I had not seen her for 6 ot 7 years because I couldn't find her. Her daughter wouldn't answer her phone, and I had called all the nursing homes in a two town area. My niece's children are watching all this and learning! She'd better take care of herself!
My kids and I went to her gravesite, there were no flowers except what Kay had gotten for the casket. She didn't even let the church know where she used to go for so many years. i'm very unhappy.

Yesterday I was sooo busy, worked on Braedon's hockey rag quilt (all but 3 rows done), friends dropped in and we went out to eat..by the time we returned it was lightly raining, just enough to give strength to those up and coming plants..

I'm truly restraining myself until this coming weekend....I've a list a mile long that I want to accomplish...should list it so that we can see how much of it gets done..lol..

Was dull when I left home this morning but the sun is trying to shine..I had 3 things I wanted to do in the next few days on my lunch hour, one is to go to Cookstown, need a few matts and pick up another die for the accuquilt, saw a pretty bag done in blocks/triangles and thought I'd make several and put away for the girls who paint with me for Christmas...the other, I'll go back into my photo's to see if I can find the photo of the 'outhouse' not an outhouse for use but designed for plants..been eyeing it for the back yard..need to visually take dimensions..maybe it will have to wait until tomorrow so I can bring my camera, also, time to get plates for the car...would say that my lunch hours are almost taken care of...

Mom called me Saturday and wanted to know where I was Friday afternoon, they got here (cross stitch quilt in hand) about 1:30pm and I had gotten off work extra early at 1:00pm..just missed her...she might be coming north early this week so will check which day and maybe we can have lunch and swap cross stitch quilt for the bag I made her..lol..

Well, must do some work, all about 10 minutes worth then caught up..

Morning Betty, it was a lazy day for us here, Sunday I took dad fishing, but it got pretty windy when we got to the lake, so we went for a hort ride! Stopped for an ice cream cone, then back home!

Betty - heard from the realtor, but he didn't come by because I hadn't heard from the mortgage broker.
Mortgage broker phoned on Saturday, and we've been pre-approved for an amount larger than I expected. He'll phone or meet with us maybe tonight.
The realtor will come by on Tues evening.
'fraid I didn't do that much decluttering, cuz I was stressed out, and unable to get the "ooooomph" to do anything with our house. I sure have it now!!
I pulled out everything from our closet, Bob's been vaccuuming, and I'll do touch-up paint, we'll take down the sewing center from the wall and patch the holes, take down the cat scratching post (she isn't using it since we changed the carpet cuz the other one was ratty. She doesn't like indoor/outdoor lol).

Going to be very busy this week!
gave away our portable dishwasher cuz it took up a lot of room - had it in a closet because it did, so it was a chore to get it out when we needed it!

Susan - Happy for you...Glad you can get a bigger/better home than you realized...

Betty & All - We were able to communicate more than I hoped! When they first got here...I put Line at the computer with her Mom...and they looked at her '08/'09 School year pics while she was here....

I knew it meant a lot to her Mom because when they got to the pics of the airport June '09 when Line was leaving and everyone was crying... Line's Mom started to cry just looking at them ! She wants copies of course...we'll get them to her...

They live in a small town in Norway...about 25,000...the Dad in the fishing industry. We served fish & Shrimp and I was glad to see them go back for seconds...albeit DH had the meal served about 1 1/2 hour late... Line's Mom was fascinated by my Sis's & BIL Civil war reenactment and even tried on one of the dresses DSis made !

It was a nice evening.

Rod, the realtor, is going to talk to the mortgage broker, Jay, and see what happens if there's a shortfall in the amount we get for the house vs the amount needed for a d/p. Rod's talking about a short-term personal-line-of-credit.
I don't know if Jay will go for it, but we can always ask.........

Morning...although it will be a fantastic day today weather wise there's frost to be scrapped off the windshield if I don't take time to start it 10 minutes early..must remember to do so!

Came home last night, what do I see, ALL the front gardens are done, note on counter saying I'm responsible for the burning..lol.. Cathy was at it again...

How easy it will be this spring, I'll edge all the gardens and perhaps purchase a few shrubs, plants and voila I can enjoy...
I cannot believe how much growth there is, have a few snowdrops in bloom, I don't do spring bulbs so not much flowering until late May/early June...might be different this year with such a change in the weather...

Relaxed last night, got a few rows done on the rag quilt..should be finished tonight then I can pack it away and start another..

Yes I am in lurking mode. Have been battling a headache for a couple days.

This morning is good, as my Alan Jackson is on the Today show and I will have to run right out and get his new CD released today.

Paul is back at work, and still on restrictions. He goes back to the surgeon tomorrow and will get an update. His vision is sadly not improving. He is pretty nervous about that. I guarantee if he asks me to drive, he is worried.

Of all things, we went to the Broadway Market in Buffalo on Saturday. This is a big market, which is just hopping at Easter time (sorry) and DH had to get his Polish foods he loves and the atmosphere is just fun. So..we are walking, I see him turn....and major pain on his face. His hip has been giving out on him, and it did then. Didn't know if we would make it back to the car without assistance, but did. It has happened several more times since...and last night we went to get that checked. On anti-inflamatories and then MRI in a few weeks if that doesn't work. And to think he is younger than me! Good grief!

Betty, I had ice on my windshield also. BUT, I have little crocus up and blooming...a orange and a purple. My tulips are up about four inches....and my Daffs will be open this weekend. I never get them open before Easter! On way to doctors last night, we took parkeway along Lake Ontario....and the Weeping Willows are ready to pop leaves...it is a VERY early spring up here.

I'll ask him if he wants to try it. He said he took some Dayquil yesterday afternoon and it helped a lot, makes me wonder if he has a cold and he thinks it's allergies.

It could be both, my hubby uses nyquil for everything.

I've lots coming out as well..the next few days ought to really encourage some to sprout..last year when all the trees were on sale and twice I took home a trunk full, I must have planted a weeping pussy willow tree..it's about 5' tall and last night I saw 2 or 3 branches with willows...the tag is still on it so I'll have to read up on it...

Very long post! lol Grab a cup of coffee/tea and a comfy chair!.

Were back from the Cottage. It was nice to just be the 5 of us, away from all the daily hub,bub.
On the way there we stopped at Walmart to get food and needed items....Woohoo, that was a fun shopping spree.
Steve and I got a few things for the trip. I got a really nice Jeep Duffle pack on wheels!!
They were having a nice sale, so kids all got a few clothing items...LOL, Jacob is so frugal, watching the items add up, it was almost embarrassing that we dared to spend so much with his reaction. ROFLOL got to enjoy payday!
When we arrived it was colder in the house then it was outside! lol...So got the fire stoked and went off to have pizza. While there, we played one of those table top video games, puzzles, Q&A...What a fun thing to do. And of course we beat the timers. hahaha, it was funny as we had to reach over each other to touch the screen, imagine the five of doing this.
by time we returned it was nice and cozy warm. We all chipped in to make the place homey, this was awsome for me since I'm usually the one to do this. We were relaxing in no time. Watched a few movies...The weekend was incredibly cold and windy. On Sunday, We watched this crazy movie. it was so stupid it was hysterical!! While, lounging on the couch, I just happened to look out the the window and OMG! Saw my first Eagle soar past the house!!! That just made my weekend complete...After the movie we ventured out to the bowling Alley. Steve allowed Sabrina to drive, YIKES...She did really well, but it was a very good thing I had my little game in hand while sitting in the back seat. hahaha, I was real good and only screamed slow down one time. ROFLOL, by time we got there I was shaking! Anyway, we had a blast...We were home by 10:am yesterday, Julia had school...LOL, Breenie and Jake disappeared almost immediately...
Steve went about paying the bills and I jumped on the laundry, had to wash all the new stuff. But wouldn't you know, The plumbing backed up!! So had to put it off until 3. LOL Steve was grumbling about more cost, but geesh, got to be glad it happened now and not while we are gone...

In between laundry, got caught up again in the threads, lol and so my season begins!
Until this trip is over, i am afraid i'm always going to get behind, so forgive if i don't reply to all, mind is on overload here! lolol.

Hope you are enjoying your gardens...I am so looking forward to seeing some Lovely gardens, from all the books and photos i am seeing on Italy, OH my gosh, I am already in complete ecstasy in the lushness of the region!! As you know We have been planning this trip for a year...Finally in 7 days we will be there!! I am going to be typing an itinerary for the kids so i will post it for you too. Really the only thing we have planned is in Italy. All of the Greece portion is where the ship takes us! We will have approx, 6 hours to see what we can! Not much time but Ohhhh, just being there to absorb nature and culture of now and past is beyond my wildest of dreams...

LOL, Steve and I went to the Ram, a place to eat, lol, I got to thinking about the trip and the years we've shared, lol of course overwhelmed in the sheer joy of it all, burst into tears!! funny thing with it ....I could not find the fusible to do the appliqué, I got all upset,was about to change gears...DH says.."work on something else for awhile, and I will take you to Joannes later" ( what a love, he is)....sewwwww when I get to Joannes......fat 1/4's on sale!!! I was good..only spent $30.00, including the fusible..

got some 1/4's I may use for one of those diamond log cabins, we have been talking about on the log cabin thread.....

And I found...totally by chance....a fantastic piece of fabric .. for the quilt I am making with the Heavenscape / Jaye fabric...this will be perfect for the back...it is done with Asian theme!! fabrics.

I will have to do a few borders for it to be big enough, but I have leftovers from the front that will work well.....

Sewwww...I was all upset about having to stop "working" and go to the store....and Lo and behold....it turns into a "quilting blessing"

almost all of the colors from the front are in here!!!!

and while I was there, I put in an application...
I am happy to have a job in these times, but since the changes at work...I am not happy in my job....so I am doing a little looking around....
