You guys crack me up! I just came in from the candle shop - been trying out some new fragrances. Daffodil is one of them - I am not sure if I like it yet or not. I finally came up with a label that I think I like. I have been working on packaging for about 3 years - sucks to be poor - there are people out there that make a living doing that stuff. Dang, maybe I should have offered a professional designer a semi rim in trade. What was I thinking? Or maybe some rocks or dead plants. LOL
I gotta go to bed!

OH, it won't post my label, it is not in picture format. I will work on that later - too tired to mess with it now.

You will get it, Lori. Don't know about Daffodil, may be too sweet. Like Lilac. I hope I get Lilac blooms this year. Miss Kim is her name.

Enid, OK

Here it is
I will post a pic of the candle in all it's glory later.

Seray, is it a red twig dogwood? or are the leaves to big? I was comparing photos and not sure if my perspective is off or just my old eyes seeing things. lol

I don't know what it is Jar. It's pretty. I'm not familiar with all the dogwood varieties so that could be it. I thought maybe a viburnum or something like that. Pretty though. "don't know what it is but I want it" LOL Have to do some research. Ask Mekos. :)

Enid, OK

Ok, now keep in mind that Lori knows nothing, and has losts of OH's.....it looks like elderberry to me.

Don't laugh too hard, just looks like the stuff that was around when I was a kid. Someone has kept that one in line but that is sure what it looks like to me.

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

Doesn't look like any elderberry I've ever seen.

ROTFL!!!

I heard from Mekos! She says it's an Indian Hawthorn.

She also said this about the baby:

"The baby picture is ok there. I wanted to thank everyone for all the prayers and show her off. She is 2 weeks old now and weighs 6 lbs and 10 ounces. She had lost down to 5 lbs at the hospital, but gained it back now.
I sure miss all you guys."

Told ya I don't know anything!

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

She looks adorable. But looks to me like that mouth is kinda stubborn looking in the first picture LOL.

She was stubborn I imagine. Didn't Mekos say her DIL had lost 2 or 3 before? This one was their miracle baby I think.

I like your label Enid! Wish I could smell the daffodil scent? Can't imagine it.

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

What a cutie she is!! Love the candle label Lori!!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

She was determined to make it and Look at her, The Baby is Beautiful. Mekos little Angel.

I received my newbie envelope of seeds in the mail a couple of days ago and I was absolutely floored at the wonderful variety! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so excited to have the chance to grow so many new-to-me varieties, I don't know where to start, lol.

I hope to have plenty of extras this year to add to the seed stash--thanks again for such a fabulous welcome to a great community!

Blessings,

Enid, don't worry, I spend hours thumbing through books and catalogs and garden sites and still get so many wrong! Oh, And I do like the label. I bet the daffodil scent would be great. Do you do eucalyptus scented candles? ****I would buy a dirt scented candle right now if it would bring spring time weather with it when it burned!!!***

It is snowing again here right now.....................AARRGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, please be honest. I am planning to present these next week to an upscale floral shop here in town.

I sell these all dressed up for 7.50 - I imagine he will sell them for close to 20 - like I said.."up scale". I can't afford to buy anything there - but it smells sooo good in there and everything is so pretty.

Anyway, tell me what you think - honestly please - or none of you get any more candles, ever. LOL

Mount Vernon, OH

flowerfantasy- thanks! I was surprised myself but now I just don't know what to do with a batflower. Lol.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

GREAT JOB!!!!!!

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

Enid looks good to me.

Here's the latest doily finished.

Thumbnail by Mindy03
Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Mindy did I miss the other thing you were working on??? You were going to show a pic and I missed it....Some kind of hanging....

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

Nope still haven't put that together been too busy trying to finish the Easter stuff. The doily was one, one sweater just needs sewing up sides and sleeves, second sweater just started last night almost up to armholes on back of it. But will be finishing the wall hanging just as soon as I get these sweaters out of my way because Sister has dr appt with the dr she wants it for on the 16th. She is having disk repair surgery the 8th so I'll try to send it after that to cheer her up.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Candles, it looks great - very upscale... That shop should really like it!

I like it too Enid! Here's a link to see the latest fashion in what else? Black scarf

http://www.furhatworld.com/marilyn-feather-edge-scarfshawl-black-p-1293.html?gdftrk=gdfV21056_a_7c265_a_7c719_a_7c1293

Lets see a pink boa next!

Booneville, AR

very nice, ilove the naame sounds good enough to eat should make the house emell real good. love nettie you go girl your just good. you can do anything.

Dellroy, OH(Zone 6b)

Enid I like it. But you said to be honest so I have to ask what it looks like if you put the black on the lid instead of the jar. That way the label is not covered with the boa.....***ducking*** I like the label and think people should be able to read it clearly without anything covering it up. That is my honest opinion and I hope it does not make you angry. I do like the black especially with the clove in the scent. Perfect match there.

Enid, OK

How funny Jar - I woke up at 3:30 this am and it hit me - duh...put the fringe on the lid - won't cover label, removes fire hazard. Great minds think alike!

I went with the black and white theme for now due to the expense of supplies. Right now, I can't afford to have a ton of colors. I may expand to match fringe and candle color later on; have to see if anyone in the retail world likes these first.

I do appreciate everyone's opinions!
It is supposed to be nice here today - can't wait to get my hands in the dirt. It was rainy and cold yesterday, had to spend the day cleaning house - yuck!! I think I need a wife - she could do the cooking, cleaning and child care - I wonder how that would go over with DH. Somehow I doubt he will go for that, he just bought me a male tea cup Aussie - Chigger finally has a boyfriend! It will be awhile before they can breed, he is just a pup - I won't get him til next week but here is his pic.

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

AWWWWW Enid I want that puppy please let me have him. He's just so cute.

On the fringe stuff you might want to check out the yarn section and see if you can find what's called Fun Fur made by Lion Brand. It's expensive for yarn work but would fringe quite a few jars for you and comes in alot of different colors. There's also one called Boa but I can't remember this early in the day who makes it. And then there's the feather yarn GRIN. OK I'll be quite now. Have to get off of here and knit anyway.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Hey, Lori, can you crochet a string?. With some of the yarns they have now, you could make your own.
Love the puppy. Breeding dogs, Hope you got high fences, but that is a beautiful pup.

Enid, OK

Once upon a time, a very long time ago, I could crochet. I tried again not too long ago - I remember how to hold the yarn - that's all. DC, Ch, SC....confuses me - need to look that stuff up again.
I have not looked a yarns in a very long time, will go to Hobby Lobby tomorrow and see what they have. That would be a much less expensive alternative - the eyelash fringe is $3.98/yd. I did find a 10 yd spool online for $14.00 but I wonder about quality.

Enid, OK

Oh Mindy, sorry - no you can't have my pup. He is a cute little guy aint he? My female is only 7 lbs - he might be 8 when he is full grown, I think he is 2 1/2 lbs now. I can't wait to get my hands on him - I can wait for the long nights of him missing momma though - it is always so sad to hear them cry.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

enid,
If you will put him with your other dog he will be alright. That's what I did when I brought my new puppy home and she was fine. Sleeps all by herself now. LOL

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

Shucks Lori I really want that puppy too. Not that I need any more right now with 3. If you can get a washcloth or sock put in the momma's bed until time to pick him up to take with you when you get him her scent will soothe him some so he won't cry as much.
