Countdown to spring! One Photo per Day Part 13
Nice! What lunacy!
Hee Hee!!
Nice hibiscus guys, and lovely tulips Abby!
Some dwarf iris rebloom. 'Baby Blessed' & 'Forever blue' are two. forgot 'Baby Blessed' is yellow.
I own both for that very reason,(rebloom) but BB is blue so thats a plus. LOL
nice one JoAnn!!
Iris name, please?
NOID
Bought it from a amature grower who had a field at the side of the road. She had a sign at the corner when she was selling.I liked it because it's short maybe 14-18 inches
maybe Polly can ID it?
That sounds like a standard dwarf iris.
You posted on the last thread, Allison. Nice yellows.
Nice, Bill. You bring it to the garage?
yes, this is one that goes in the garage.
Standard dwarf might be it.
I am really enjoying catching up again. These nice blooms are a real help on these rainy dark and dreary days. Thanks everybody.
I was looking out the window at the rain this am and saw the stand for my birdbath standing there without it's top. It won't be long now until I can replace the bowl and see the forget-me-nots again. Yeah!
I planted another rose one out in the garden last spring.... only time will tell if they make it with all this rain.. hoping the slope in that area helps
love the colors of that baby iris JoAnn!!
Its a prolific spreader. I brought it from the old house.
love that kind!!
Fifties last week, fifties this, every thing is sprouting and I hate to be a pessimist (I'm depressed for long stretches as it is, Doc has asked me at every visit for the last fifteen years will I take anti depressants--no I won't) but I have a rabbit, deer, and mole, and vole invasion like you've never seen, chewing up and pulling up tulips and cropping the tops of daylilies coming through and burrowing under seedlings. Now I'm worrying about a freeze in April or May after every thing is growing. Still, the crocus and snowdrops and little iris have never been better and I forgot to eat breakfast wandering around checking out what was in bloom---good for weight loss??
weedyseedy
were are you pics of what is blooming??
Janet
My camera skills are minimal as is my spelling, darn spell check stops me every other word. Am charging camera, am going to have to read instruction book just to find out what the buttons do. I hope to get the iris reticulata, although it's just box store variety it increased on me and is taller, snowdrops formed large clump out back window and crocus came back even though I dug around them last year to plant perennials, Autumn Joy and Purple Dome aster. Wild aster grew in lawn near Purple Dome and was over six feet high---am going to keep track of it to see if it's really different from the species. If it is I'll try to propagate it, in fact I'll divide it this Spring and plant it in different areas which should tell me if it's really different----------------sunny out, going out to try deer and bunny repellent which better work after what I payed for it-------------------Weedy
never saw a geranium like that Victor.. it's great.. lovely flutterby Ronnie & tulip WC!!!
Wow! I have missed a lot here. Wonderful photos, everyone! Took me a loooong time to catch up.
Patti, I love your 'Gibraltar' lespodiza. Very pretty. Your stream is looking great. I just love it.
Gorgeous color on your neighbor's hydrangea, Allison.
Bill, I've had my Double Decker echi about 3 years now, and it never looks as nice as yours. I'm disappointed with it. This will be it's 4th year. Maybe it will do better. I will not throw it out if it doesn't, as it's still a pretty echi. Just not what I was expecting.
Victor, I love your pond. Do you drain it in the spring to clean it? Do you have a pond vac? I had to take out the rocks from my pond to make it easier to clean it out. I drain it in the spring and give it a good cleaning. I don't have a pond vac, and it's not a big enough pond for fish. Yours looks big enough for fish. That pic of your Marmori clem is great! So is the one of Patricia Ann Fretwell.
WC, love that dwarf iris close-up! Do you know what variety it is?

NOID DL
pretty noid
Karen your noid looks alot like 'Beautiful Edgings'. Depending on how warm or cool it is will determine the the depth of color on the edges. It's one of my older DL's and it never fails to impress me. ^_^
